Title: Resolved.
Post by: Alatariel-Silimaure on May 24, 2012, 12:53:00 PM
Beware the user nurseglory. I found out through chatting that I'm not the only one that has been cheated by her, and hopefully the others will post here too to tell their stories.

Basically I got super excited on ebay when I found a G1 Barnacle and a G1 Tex that looked like they were in super good condition, near perfect and she was only asking $18 for Tex and $36 for Barnacle! Both were BUY NOW prices, so I was like "HELL YEAH!" and snapped them up.

Here are the pictures and description she listed for them:

Awesome right? ..... not so... First off took 2 to 3 weeks for her to ship the items out when she stated she ships within 3 days... yeah total bull there. but I waited patiently super excited to get my awesome conditioned ponies...

Well I just recieved them... and take a look:

Now Tex wasn't too horrible, but there were several things I noticed, not too upset, but still, not accurate. one note, I'm only using hair parted on the wrong side to prove it's not the same pony, I plan to fix it AFTER I get my money back if I end up getting to keep the pony. I'm sure as heck not fixing them up only to send them back to her for her to rip someone else off with.

But Barnacle... my god I paid $36 for this mess!

I've already sent her a message and I'm waiting to hear back from her, I'll let you all know what she's got to say if she ever responds to me, she's got 1-2 business days to respond, which means if I don't have a response by Monday (and that's being patient) I will be opening up a dispute with Ebay/Paypal

Alright so I've heard back from her at least on the Barnacle issue now. She stated that someone is trying to steal her identity so she can't use her paypal now because she's put it on hold. She did apologize to me and offered to refund me if I send the pony back. At this point my concern would be how I would get my refund. She said she'll refund me first and then I can send the pony back. I think she was assuming I wanted to send both of the ponies back, but I really only want to return Barnacle, so we'll see what happens from here.

We're working on it and I'll let you all know the results.

UPDATE: 5/26/12: I just got a message from her again, she said on Tuesday she's going to mail me a cash refund for Barnacle along with a return mailing label to send him back. I hope this isn't going to cause issues with Ebay if she decides to open up a case on me or something.... I hope this is not against Ebay policy, but she said her paypal was put on hold due to someone trying to steal her identity so she can't give me a refund through paypal.

Update 6/5/12: Well I guess she refunded me through paypal now today and told me to keep Barnacle, so as far as that goes I guess this is resolved.

Ok, I'm on mobile so will properly explain tomorrow, I bought a full set (minus one) of big brothers and most accessories for 268.42 pounds last year and was told- they were in 'good condition, a few marks here and there' well being a newbie to ponies, didn't know what cancer was, well they have cancer and regrind. I was totally ripped off. Will explain more tomorrow as mobile is hard to type on! X

WOW it looks like she used completely different ponies for the ebay photos, compared to what she sent you! I hope you are able to return them. There's no way that was accidental, she must have been purposely hiding the flaws in order to sell them.

Omg I hate when this happens! Those picture surtenly arent hers!!!
She probably stole pictures from.someone else, cause the ponies you got doesn't look any near the ponies in the pictures.
You got ripped off! It makes me really mad that honest people get treaded like this. Sorry but had to vent about it!
I hope things will work out for you.

I'm gonna say firstly, hair "parted on the wrong side" isn't a flaw - it's easily remedied by wetting the hair and re-setting it. :) Now if you're using that to prove that it's not the same pony - I agree, because it doesn't look like the same pony (unless this Nurse-Glory person said they would be washing out the curls before shipping). Hair doesn't usually re-set itself in transit. :/

And for Barnacle, that is DEFINITELY not the same pony, not even close. What gives?
Title: Re: BEWARE Ebay member nurseglory (pics included)
Post by: Alatariel-Silimaure on May 24, 2012, 01:12:02 PM
I was just told by Icecrystalline on shout box that the picture she used of Barnacle is the exact came picture that was used a year ago for the one she bought from her.

@Moon: Oh trust me I'm not taking this laying down, if she doesn't respond disputes will be opened up and I will keep opening them until I annoy people into action. I will have my money back, and the only way she's getting those ponies back is if that's the only way I can get a refund, otherwise she can just bite the bullet and forget about getting the ponies back.

@Snapdragon: yes I"m using that to prove it's not the same pony. as I said I'm not as upset about Tex, but he has a scratch on his symbol and she clearly stated that he did not have a scratch. the hair is also not in the same condition that she states as being soft and silky, it was matted. That picture is actually AFTER I brushed his tail out and fixed it up some, but his hair is how I got it.

Neither is the same pony unless she Photoshopped a few things out.

Tex actually has a couple of marks on him in the seller's picture that don't appear in your photos.
Barnacle has marks on him in your photos that are not in the seller's.

I say you got ripped off for sure and those ponies wont anywhere near those prices. *hugs* Sorry you're having such a problem.

Good! I know you'll get something done even if you have to involve ebay because there is noway they can ignore those marks. Glad you have some hard evidence to back all of this up. Best of luck! Let us know what happens.

I need to quickly say: Actually, thinking about it, the image may not be the same. I just can't be certain. although it looks similar, this was a year ago and I cannot entirely remember the image. I'm really sorry, it was stupid of me to jump to a conclusion when I cannot be certain.

I think you did the right thing on messaging her first.  She deserves a chance to rectify the situation.   As Skeen mentioned I also was not aware of her being a bad seller.  She has been around for a long time.  I am hoping it is just a mix-up on her part.  Because they definitely are not as described or going by Barnacle even the same pony???

I would wait and see how she replies and take it from there.  I most definitely would be returning them for a full refund.  I understand you are completely upset but let's see how she handles the situation.  If she does not want to work with you then we have a problem.

oh my goodness! :whoa:  :whoa:  :whoa:  I'm really quite shocked at reading this thread. Firstly because those really are not the same ponies  ... and who would ever be fooled into thinking they were?  the body marks are not the same, as well as the hair . Barnacle is almost baity   secondly I'm shocked because I've never heard anything bad about Nurseglory before. I was unaware that other members here had had a problem with her, and  I have bought from her before without any issues  :yikes:  I really hope that this can be worked out. I hope its all a mistake, but its hard to know at this point.  waitng to see how she responds and handles this is the best thing to do.   I completely understand your disappointment with all this!

yeah I don't know exactly what's going on. She's now agreed to refund me for it and I can return barnacle, but I'm not sure how I'm going to be getting my refund. She said someone is trying to steal her identity so she had to put her paypal on hold because it got hacked or something, I'm not really sure what's up, but I'm waiting to see how this whole thing is going to work out. So far she's working with me at least a bit, she stopped responding to my messages a while ago so I'm waiting again.

That's awful :( So obviously not the same ponies! Just remember to keep and eye on the time limit before you can open a Paypal dispute, I may be being pessimistic but not replying to you could be a tactic to delay until you can't open a dispute.

That is so true about the time delay. I just had this happen to me. I've been working with the seller on what I thought was a few personal problems but now I'm not sure. Ebay finally said leave feedback or open case because it had been over a month. Keep a close watch and I hope everything works out for you.

Wow, I hope everything gets sorted out in your favor. I have Nurseglory on my favorite sellers list, but I've never bought from her. I find her prices a bit high. But beware of "my Paypal account was hacked" excuse. I bought two ponies from someone on ebay and tried to pay with Paypal (which they said they accepted) and it wouldn't go through. I asked them about it and they said their account had been hacked and to send a money order instead. I did and I was scammed out of my ponies. Sent $30 and never received my Blueberry Baskets and TAF Milkyway  The ebay member was banned because she scammed everyone that bought ponies from her. Not saying that Nurseglory's account didn't get hacked, but now I always think twice when someone says that.

Honestly opening a case might just be the push she needs. I don't think I've ever done business with this seller but I have had sellers in the past that just needed that extra nudge to do the right thing and since you have proof you have nothing to worry about. Keep us posted and best of luck hope this is all sorted out for you soon.

How did you pay her originally? Through paypal? If so keep a record of that then she won't be able to say you didn't pay. Since she's sending cash through the mail be careful it's real. I hate to say that but it's the sad truth. I would make a copy of the return postage just to have a record for it and hopefully it will have a tracking number on it. If not you may want to add for just encase. Glad to see things are happening for you and that this is all going to get worked out for you. Is anything going to be done about Tex?
Title: Re: BEWARE Ebay member nurseglory (pics included) Issue in the process of resolution
Post by: Alatariel-Silimaure on May 26, 2012, 02:12:55 PM
yeah... I paid through paypal, so there is record of the payment. I suppose I could take the cash to our local grocery store and they could use their little pen thingy to see if it's real I suppose, I dunno how else I could tell it's real. I do plan to take pictures of the envelope, what's in it, and the return mailing label as well as scan a copy into my computer and I'll double check with the post office that it has a tracking number on it.

I decided to keep Tex, he wasn't that bad I was using him more to illustrate that it wasn't the same one she pictured, I probably  wouldn't have quite paid $18 for one in the shape he was in, but with a little work I can make him all pretty. I don't want to have to go out and try to find another one either. I already had a barnacle, I was just trying to get one in better shape... but this new one wasn't acceptable.

so I hope this all works out.

As a former bank teller, I can tell you a super, super simple way to tell if money is real or not.  Get a white sheet of paper, put the bill face down on it, press really hard on a dark spot on the bill and smear it across the paper.  If it leaves a streak, it's real; no streak, it's fake. The ink on real money never dries; that's why your hands always get dirty when working with money. Counterfeiters can not duplicate this.

If you have a black light, you can put the bill under it and the strip inside will fluoresce a specific color:

$5- Blue
$10- Orange
$20- Green
$50-  Yellow- very hard to see
$100- Red

She is, but I do not think she has been active for a couple years.

Her username on the old arena was indeed NurseGlory.

I don't think she has posted at all here on the new arena though. She wasn't very active on the old arena either. She is an oldbie in the pony community and mostly sells on ebay these days. I think most of her contacts from the old days are/were on the mlptp.

Well she was supposed to mail out my cash refund a few days go, so we'll see if I get it here soon... Honestly if I have no resolution by next week I'm going to have to open up a dispute.

Ebay told me I could go ahead and mail Barnacle back to her and I'd still be covered under the buyer protection, but I don't want to pay for shipping back and she said she was sending me a return mailing label... if I open a dispute and send the item, can I tell Ebay I want a refund for shipping costs as well?

Another thing that strikes me as odd was that she just sold a TAF Munchy (found out from a brag thread on here) to another person, but she told me that her paypal account was on hold, so how did that work? She told me she couldn't refund me through paypal because of that... but wouldn't she have to have paypal up an running again if she's able to sell again?

Usually when people say their paypal accounts are on hold I don't believe it. Not saying NurseGlory wasn't honest in this case, but I just don't buy that excuse in general.

I've been doing eBay for 13+ years and NurseGlory has been a staple eBay pony seller for a lot of that time. She even had her own hotline number at one point in 2010 if I recall correctly. That said, I have only dealt with her three times and all three times were a disaster.

First it was an overpriced Creamsicle in 2009 who felt heavy and smelt funny when she arrived - why? Because she was filled with stale water. I assume she had been immersed in water then packaged up shortly afterwards. I had to squeeze the water out for ages and now in the back of my mind I'm thinking: that's gonna cause tail rust for sure! I don't think Paypal buyer protection was operating then, and being super shy and non-confrontational, I just grinned and beared it.

Secondly, I bought some brushes and combs later that year, thinking she can't mess that up. She did, they were completely different to the ones in the photograph. So I swore off her sales forever.

Last month I bought a pair of DnP earrings from an eBay seller "mymomthequeen", and when I paid I noticed the paypal email address was nurseglory's - oh noes! Nothing arrived for over a month so I kept my eye on the 45 day mark for lodging a paypal claim. Eventually they turned up... they were shipped just under a month after I paid. There was no apology or explanation as to why the massive delay. I don't like talking down about people, but I didn't know anyone else got treated badly by her. I thought I would share my personal stories to warn people about the high potentiality of issues when buying from her as well.

I hope everything works out for everyone who's been messed around with. Oh and that Barnacle & Tex are soo not the ones in the eBay photos. Re: Tex - it wouldn't make sense for a seller to deliberately style his hair non-stripey side up to contradict the (just sold) item photograph, it's a total different pony for sure. Good luck! :)

oh my goodness - how awful to have 3 bad experiences with her  :(   Thank you for coming forward and sharing what happened cirrusrose
I wonder when they buyer of Munchy actually paid for her? could it be that she bought Munchy some time before the paypal isses, but only just got around to making a brag thread? of course if she only bought that pony recently then  something sounds off.
I dont get why Nurseglory would send some people their ponies etc but not others, and since she knows this community , surely she would know that all this would come out?... :what:   Plus if she is still selling on Ebay then she needs to be able to accept paypal.....

Looking her up on Ebay.. She currently has no auctions listed.. so maybe the paypal thing is true? If she cannot accept payment, she couldn't list anything.. and nothing is listed.

Thanks Ringlets!

That's a very good point, how can she be selling on eBay and not accepting Paypal? (which goes against eBay rules).

However, I found her out using that different username on eBay (mymomthequeen (http://feedback.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=mymomthequeen&ftab=AllFeedback)), so she's already demonstrated she has more than one eBay account up and running. I wouldn't put it past her that there is a third account out there as we speak.

not sure, but the girl said that she just bought it, and hasn't received it yet, so I'm assuming it was a brand new purchase

@cirrusrose: Yeah I've sworn off ever buying from her again too. Her prices were a little high but I really wanted the ponies that were supposedly in that great of condition, but they weren't the ponies I bought -.- so I"m avoiding any sales from her from now on

I'm avoiding all sales from another seller too who got on my case for leaving her less than a 5 star on her shipping, it's not my fault she waited three weeks to ship the dang thing and it was delivered a few days outside the very last day of delivery estimates. still I only gave her a 4 star and just said that the shipping was "a little slow" but overall still positive

Wow, that's super sensitive and a lil non-professional of the seller.

She also can't technically see who gives which stars, so it's pretty bold of her just to pounce on you like that. Geez, some eBay sellers mystify me *shakes head*

I always check postmarks these days. If the seller holds onto my item and the money for more than 2 weeks, without an apology or excuse (fake or otherwise), I've started leaving neutrals. She's really lucky you gave a positive in the first place!

yeah it had a specific estimated delivery date too and it was just a couple days beyond that so I actually said in my comment "package was a little late but item was in great shape" so there was an actual text comment about the shipping

D'oh, so no crystal ball was required by the seller.  :P

Still, a couple of feedbacks later no one will notice what you wrote to her, positives seem to blend in after a few. What a hyper-sensitive seller. Wow, you've really had a rough time recently.

@cirrus, I am sorry to hear of all the problems you had with her  :(   That's really a bummer to hear.

That other ID had me thinking though.  I wonder if she made an account under her daughters name thus the name "mymomthequeen".  I am pretty sure he daughter is 18 so it's possible.  I don't understand why though unless the Paypal thing is true.  But we won't know unless whoever bought that Munchy can confirm how she paid.

Looking her up on Ebay.. She currently has no auctions listed.. so maybe the paypal thing is true? If she cannot accept payment, she couldn't list anything.. and nothing is listed.
I noticed this a week or two ago.  Her store is still there just nothing listed.  I never gave it a second thought because like I mentioned she made a post on FB that they were getting ready for her daughter's graduation.  And I just assumed it was easier to not have to deal with ebay during the process.

Anyways I think I am going to shoot her that message later today on FB and maybe we can get some answers all in one place.  ;)

Just a note on NurseGlory:

Back in feb, I purchased a Baby Blue Ribbon off her, it was rather a steep price, but he was supposedly minty so I thought I'd treat myself. Baby arrived with trimmed bangs, and as this wasn't pictured or described, I messaged her, but never recieved any form of reply. Personally, I'm not buing from her again.

Maybe it's not my place since I never interacted with this person, but I´m very outraged by her practices. I understand that people that had good experience with her are trying to defend her, but she has very obviously outright scammed quite a few members here and misrepresenting your items by using false pictures is absolutely unacceptable for anyone, let alone an experienced pony seller.

I sincerely don't care if she used to be a good seller once upon a time, she has shown that she is dishonest and I personally cannot find any excuse that would redeem her for something like this :(

I´m so sorry all this happened to you guys and I´m sooo glad you´re not letting this slide Alatariel. fingers crossed everything ends well :)

That's the one. I think quite a few people are puzzled by this, as she used to be a really good seller. Certainly when I was collecting the heaviest just a couple years back she seemed to be one of the top sellers.

Sometimes people that get bad sales never say anything. It's possible that she always sent out a few bunk items here and there and went unnoticed.

Indeed.  Thanks for the updates on her other IDs, everyone.  :(  I understand that graduation is an important time in a family's life - which is why there should be a "vacation notice" in her online sales, not ongoing.  Sorry to hear that people are having to deal with disappointment.

I'm actually very confused about her giving cash refunds. She has no way to prove she issued the refund if she sends cash, there's no paper trail and if anyone she sends cash to tells eBay they did not receive it, eBay will take the money out of her Paypal account for the refund (so she'd essentially be paying for the refund twice).

yup, I had called ebay about it, they said the seller would be taking a risk by doing that because they would side with the buyer if the buyer claimed that they didn't receive the refund.

I had a bad experience with a seller with a Barbie before and returned it for a refund. She sent the refund by a personal check! I called Ebay as well about it and they said the same thing. I still can't believe I had to deposit a check from a stranger to get a refund...

But in any case, a check is still different than cash. Cash has no proof at all. To me, it sounds like a way to buy time. Or try and say they sent it but you never got it. The whole cash thing is way too weird.
