Title: I tried to vector...
Post by: Emfen on May 18, 2012, 04:02:59 PM
I tested Illustrator today just for kicks, I've used it before in school about a year ago but never since that time.
Now that I got AI I wanted to try to vector a pony, this is how it turned out:

Took me 4 hours, the most delay was trying to get a hold of shapes and how to use them as I didn't learn a lot about them in school. I feel very proud that I actually managed to make a vector as I've had creativity drought in months. I used a screen shot of trotting Fluttershy for reference.

Thank you! She is modelled after an earlier pony I drew, but I scrapped her as I wasn't satisfied with how she looked at the time.

It's hard if you're a newbie, I've used Illustrator before but for other projects in school so after reading basic tutorials about how to vector I quickly grasped the basics. It's not like photoshop which I am more familiar with.
