How would one go about cleaning mildew off a G4 without discolouring the plastic or messing up the hair? Also, would someone who's literally never done any sort of pony restoration before be able to do it without too much trouble or chance of messing something up?

I'm just wondering how you managed to get mildew on a g4.. XD
But you can just simply use hot water and soap and perhaps some sort of disinfectant such as peroxide or rubbing alcohol which shouldn't affect the paint or hair as long as it's not expired or left on the pony for very long. You can also try boiling some regular water and plopping the pony in for a bit once you've taken it off the stove. Make sure you let the pony dry resting on something so the water completely drains out through the tail hole to prevent possible future tail rust.

Finally found a reasonably priced FS Applejack, but the catch is that she has mildew. Just wanted to know if cleaning off mildew was easy to dew before buying her.

As long as she doesn't have any brown mold spots (those can't really be removed, though the mold can be at least killed), a good boil should clear it off. :)

What do you mean exactly by brown mold spots? Do they have to be strong or is light discolouration also hard to get rid of? I'm not sure exactly how okay the seller would be with me posting her pictures, so I'll shoot you a PM with the pics.

She'll definitely be okay. ^_^ Just needs a good wash.

Gosh! Where on earth has poor AJ been to already be suffering from such a condition!
You just need to follow everything Chi has mentioned - a good disinfectant clean and a scrub and she should be lovely! Congrats on tracking down that illusive pony!
