So....I don't think I'll ever be ordering ANYTHING from toysrus.ca EVER again. (I did, I'm such a liar)
Last week, Torelei came in stock for a very short time so I grabbed one. I'm in a rural area, so I ended up having to pay about $9 shipping...making her about $41 with taxes.
On their website, and on the invoice that they sent to my email, it said she would be shipping through Canada Post....but she ended up being shipped through Purolator for some dumb reason that customer service can't explain to me. It "just happens sometimes." I would be fine with that.....except there is no Purolator pick up location within 100km of me. According to the email I got from TRU.ca customer service, "What will likely happen: Purolator will get this to the depot closest to your residence, then phone you a request to go there and retrieve your package. If you can not make it within 10 days they will send it back to us for a refund." I'm pretty sure I know where the closest location is to me...about 4 hours away. I don't understand this at all...why tell me that it's going to be sent through Canada Post, then randomly decide to send it by courier to a location that they don't even service?
I am seriously really disappointed right now. I don't have any way to get there, and even if I did, burning that much gas to pick up a doll that already cost me $40 is ridiculous. If I can't work something out with Purolator to send her the rest of the way by mail or something, they'll send her back. Sure I'll get a refund...but I was really looking forward to getting her...

She made it! And my attempt to go check the mail and pick her up without my mom knowing was a total flop...there was no package card in the mailbox when I was there, but when my mom got off work about half an hour later and checked it, there was. So....I made up a story that I had ordered some games and they just came in a big box because Toys R Us is weird :whistle:

My first "in hand" MH doll! :cheer: (that's not to say anything about the growing collection that is invading my boyfriend's closet in MI...I'm going to have so many to open in July XD )

If it doesn't work out and you don't mind being a little patient (I'm currently away from my apartment and about to move across the US at the end of the month) an are OK with her being OOB, I can sell you my Torelei for what I paid for her in the US (20$)
she sat in her box FOREVER under my desk, and I finally just deboxed her to make her easier to pack with the rest of the dolls.
She's in perfect condition with all her stuff, just out of the box :)

Okay....so the shipping updated today and said my package was in transit from Corner Brook, Newfoundland....which is where I thought it would stop. So she might just show up tomorrow or Friday and I freaked out for nothing XD
Still gotta say I'm not impressed with toysrus.ca over the whole thing though... When they say "we ship through Canada Post" that's how I expect my stuff to be shipped :hmm:
She will be my first "in hand" MH doll too! (my boyfriend has a bunch in his closet though XD)

Well, the tracking today said "in transit via CPC RR and beyond". I have no idea what the rr and beyond thing means, but CPC is Canada Post....so I'm assuming it means they put her in the mail today. Which I find hilarious.... in the Toys R Us invoice is says that she was sent as a Canada Post expedited parcel, yet the tracking number is for a courier service. The courier gets her all the way from Toronto to Corner Brook, Newfoundland and then... puts her in the mail. :hmm:
Just seems so ridiculously convoluted.
So..hoping she'll show up tomorrow! With my luck she'll probably be defective....or the wrong doll XD

and i looked everywhere today for a tor, nothing ... but i found an abbey in the milk freezer at walmart ... lmao *shrug* but hopefully yours shows up for ya, cause she's awesome!

I was confused too and even for walmart it was pretty randomly rediculous lol all i can think is that a kid had her, was made to grab a thing a milk and had to sit her down and forgot her in there, but she was REALLY cold so she had to have been in thre a while lol
and pictures are a must if she arrives lol if you ungel her hair, be careful, some people ar reported her stripes come out and/or fade ... *crosses fingers*

Either that or someone desperately wanted her but didn't have the cash and didn't want anyone to buy her so they left her there so no one would find her to get money from an ATM Machine.
OR
A kid really wanted her but their mother said no, so they just played with her for a bit like children usually do and left Abbey in her natural habitat or at least what was closest to it. lol
I hope Toralei makes her way to your place. Sadly I also heard that the stripes on the Werecat twins wash away too. >,<;

I can get Torelei's for people (mines pretty!), but they'd be coming from the UK and potentially more expensive due to exchange rates, let alone shipping. Think they're £17 for me.

Well, after saying that I probably wouldn't order anything else from TRU.ca.....I did >_<
...The werecat twins were in stock today... for a lot longer than I thought they would be too, about 10-12 hours....so I got them. Since Torelei showed up okay I'm not really worried about it. Let's see if they actually send them through Canada Post like their website says they will! lol

I swear I was looking at the computer screen for about 20 minutes telling myself "don't do it"...but ended up caving because there is the chance that my boyfriend and I might never find them in store. He talked to a manager at the Ann Arbor TRU, who told him that they weren't in stock anywhere in MI, and that they didn't even have any at a warehouse ready to send out. They're on order from the manufacturer lol. So who knows when they might randomly pop up or how many would be available...it's likely we would spend a ridiculous amount of time and money (gas) trying to track them down. And I know that there are a lot of people looking for them here too, so I thought it would just be easier for me to grab them while I could.
A bit more and I might as well have bought them from a scalper lol... with shipping and taxes they were $50 :hmm:

Yeah, that's why I used my boyfriend's amazon account for Abbey, the Draculaura and Clawd set, and the CaM packs. They were all being sold by Amazon for retail or a bit better, and no shipping, tax, or gas burned to go pick them up. I wish amazon.ca offered Amazon Prime....and sold toys.... actually, maybe it's better that they don't.... :whistle: rofl

lol, I'll take waiting two days for something to show up in the mail over taking a ride on the bus. I haven't been on a bus in years...When I was living in St. John's and taking on campus courses I had to take the bus every day to get to the uni and then home again, about 45 min each way. And I had to take it to go get groceries or if I wanted to go shopping since I wasn't within walking distance of anything. I hated it lol
I had to take another picture of Torelei... she was on my xbox for about an hour, until I thought she would look better somewhere else lol

She looked like she need to be lounging somewhere...and while she would look awesome laying across my xbox, it wouldn't be good for her or the system, since there wasn't really any way to put her where she wasn't covering a vent. The xbox gets pretty hot.
I'm already thinking of where I'll put the twins when they arrive. Not a whole lot of room left thanks to ponies :lol:

Well, Mommy Dearest can just deal with it! HA! I'm a guy, and even I've managed to convert my mom! I've been showing her all my photoshoots and making her choose her favorites! hehe. She really likes Howleen and Toralei.

Meowlody is perfect...but Purrsephone has a big rub on her lip and a little one on her nose. She has some stuff stuck in the white paint on her face too. Looks like it could be little pieces of hair.

Doesn't bother me too much though. Now... is there a way to fix their horrible box hair without ruining their stripes?
Also, my boyfriend took a picture of his closet for me. He was saying that he couldn't get the dolls to stay in the closet and I couldn't understand why, seeing as they're all in easily stackable boxes...

A closet full of dolls? XD That's awesome. Congrats on them! But booo the paint on her. You could easily repaint the problem areas and completely re-do her lips. As for the stripes they're painted like Toralei, right? I don't think there's much you can do without them flaking off. ):

Yeah Chi, that's the way their hair is. I'll figure something out I suppose. And I'll look into fixing the paint eventually too, just don't really have anywhere to get supplies at the moment >_<

THat's also basically why I don't shop online, that way no one gets suspicious and be like "What did you order??" "Can I see?" "What is it?" and I don't have to keep coming up with little white lies. lol

Hehe, that's the only way for me to get stuff right now unfortunately. I did find a small amount of stuff at a Bargain Shop a few days ago though (still more than an hour away)...I got a Cleo fashion pack ^.^

it seems to be a common problem with her in the twin set ... narrow end of the box and all :( paint rubs are "easily" fixed by a steady hand and some paint, foriegn objects in the paint cane be handled kind of the same way depending on severity and your willingness to try exacting the fine art of paint matching or repainting the whole painted area after removing the object(s) and buffing a bit ..
but they are soooooo amazing! congrats!

They're sitting together on the edge of my dresser now, which faces my desk. My brother was in here on the computer when I got/opened them. He's used my computer a few times in the last week and didn't even notice Torelei on the desk, even though he was technically looking right at her. He's so observant XD He keeps saying all the toys are watching him lol

lol my friends hate my master bedroom because of all the ponies and dolls "staring" at them lol
i laugh and tell them the ponies are too polite to stare and the only doll to worry about is my Tae Hash cause he's a bit of a troublemaker lol
