TE ponies are my fav. kind of ponies so I wanna see pics of any customed TE ponies. ESPECIALLY if they used to be BBE ponies!

Yes indeedie I did! ;) And I just tinkered with both mommy & baby TE Gusty today... adding some "interference" blue and green to their eyes... to mimic the opalescence of the original TE ponies. ;) I think I like the results (even though it's hard to see it in photos... >.<

I'm also working on a custom TE Masquerade too... in the Whizzer pose. :lovey:

Please forgive her slightly "off" appearance... this poor gal only has one of her eyes in... and her mane and tail are a bit disheveled... :lol:

Prototype Masquerade in the Whizzer pose is actually very simular to the Spanish variant of her. (There's a thread talking about her in the Nirvana forum right now! :cheer: )
I absolutely love her in that pose (she's my ultimate and pretty impossible grail) and yours looks amaaaaazing! Gusty and her baby look super great too. I think I'm going to have to make myself a TE Gusty! :lovey:

It was hard to cut the eyes out of the baity Masquerade I found... O.o
I did see that thread! ;) And I saw the auction on ebay not long ago. Back when I started the custom... I didn't know about the Spanish version tho. :lol: So I started my gal with the intention of recreating the prototype... so she has 5 "masks" in her symbol... whereas the Spanish gal has 3. ;)
That and I know Scraleos had a custom of the Spanish version made... ;) Even more reason to keep mine just a touch different. :D

Yes you should! Tho... like cutting the eyes out of Masquerade... it was REALLY hard to cut out Gusty's eyes... :whoa:
But I've done it a few times now... :lol: It's starting to get easier.... which means more TE ponies from me! :lol:
And I almost see turning BBE Babies into TE babies... as doing them a service.... :happy:

i saw a beautiful moondancer TE i think on ebay :cry: i really should of tryed harder to bid but i might of been broke at the time, iv also seen TE g4 somewhere.....waiting......

The ones I used... I got at Michaels. ;) They have a lot of cool jewels that could work (tho not many that are "perfect" matches to the originals...).
i saw a beautiful moondancer TE i think on ebay :cry: i really should of tryed harder to bid but i might of been broke at the time, iv also seen TE g4 somewhere.....waiting......

Oh I drilled holes with my trusty dremel. ;) Juuuuust a touch smaller than the actual jewel... so they fit in there snuggly... and the plastic closed around the jewel to make it "sink" in there. ;)

Your Masquerade is lovely!! Her symbol is very well painted, and the eye that has been put in looks perfect.

Eeek, TE in an old BBE actually seems a bit creepier. In a cute way...but creepier still.

I'm not a big TE fan either but WOW these are amazing! Especially Mama Gusty, Dark Mimic, and Beacon. And cheers to the transformation of Baby Frosting into Baby Mimic. The eye holes were already there, and really anything done to Baby Frosting has to constitute an improvement.

Terrific thread! I'm not sure why I love TEs so much, but I DO! They, along with so-softs, make up most of the G1s that made the cut onto my display shelves. And they make up about half of my G4 customs these days, heh. But I never even thought about making ponies that weren't originally TEs into them. May need to look into that myself!! And you guys are making me braver about taking the leap into cutting a place for the jewels rather than just gluing them on top of the eyes.
I especially *squee'd* over Gusty and that black and white Mimic-like pony.
