Title: Everfree Northwest Official Announcement Thread
Post by: EverfreeNorthwest on April 20, 2012, 04:50:42 PM

Everfree Northwest 2012 (http://www.everfreenw.com/) is a convention for fans of 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' of all ages in Seattle, WA at the SeaTac Holiday Inn on August 17-19th, 2012. And we want YOU to design the cover for Everfree Northwest's convention book! We're announcing an official contest to give you just that chance with REAL compensation!

Starting right now, we're accepting submissions of art for a wrap around, one-piece cover at at 17" by 11 & 1/2". Since we're Seattle based, we want the cover to display the theme of "Ponies in Seattle". In addition, since we're a Convention, it goes without saying that we want our logo (linked below) to be incorporated as well. Other than that, feel free to be creative! And YES, Official Characters are allowed to be included! (So. Awesome.)

If you wish to submit an image, please email your file (in JPG or PNG format) to [email protected] with CON BOOK and your name in the Subject Line.

Entries will be accepted until 11:59 PM, Pacific Standard Time (PST) on June 30th, 2012.

After this date, a judging committee will narrow the submissions down to ten (10) entries, and then our attendees will vote for their favorite on our forums. The winning picture will not only be on our convention book's cover, but will earn its creator a gift certificate to WeLoveFine.com. The entry with the second most votes will also win a WeLoveFine.com gift certificate.

For all the details (or to get all the guidelines in one place), check out the official rules below!

Official Rules:

1) All artwork must be drawn by the artist submitting the piece, and it must be original fan art.

2) The artist, upon submission, is giving the convention Everfree Northwest permission to use the artwork, if chosen, for the cover of their convention book or for any other promotional use they choose.

3) All entries must be submitted by 11:59 PM, Pacific Standard Time (PST) June 30th, 2012. Any submissions after this date are invalid and ineligible to take part in this contest.

4) All winners will be notified and announced publicly by July 31st, 2012.

5) If the voted winning image is unable to be used for any reason, the next highest voted image will be used instead.

6) Submissions are to be emailed to [email protected], in JPG or PNG format, with CON BOOK and your name in the email Subject Line.

7) The dimensions of the submitted image must 17" by 11 & 1/2", formatted for the front and back of a one piece book cover. The image must be between 300-600 DPI. All submissions must follow the theme of "Ponies in Seattle" and must include the logo linked below in some form.

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

8) A submission MAY include Official Characters of the MLP franchise.

9) As a family friendly convention, we will not be accepting any submissions using elements that would be above a PG rating.

Title: Everfree NorthWest Proudly Welcomes Lee Tockar as a Guest!
Post by: EverfreeNorthwest on May 16, 2012, 11:17:04 AM

Everfree Northwest is proud to present our first featured guest from the Friendship is Magic voice cast: Lee Tockar! Lee plays the eager, but naive young unicorn, Snips, who's rarely seen without his equally dim (though no less lovable) companion, Snails. However, among fans Lee's  most iconic role is undoubtedly as the Sorrowful Sea Serpent from the series premiere, dubbed "Stephen Magnet" by the fan community.

Lee is certainly no stranger to lending his voice to your favorite characters. You may remember him from the English dubs of such popular anime as Dragonball Z and Deathnote, or from his roles on Ed, Edd, n Eddy and Beastwars. Lee is also the 2008 recipient of the Electronic Animation Award for Best Male Voice-Over Artist.

We're tremendously excited to welcome Mr. Tockar to our guest lineup. More information on this talented individual can be found here: http://www.leetockar.com/

Don't think that's all we have hidden up here in the northwest. There will be more announcements for you in the coming DAYS (Including some fantastic G1 news), so stay tuned!

Everfree Northwest (http://www.everfreenw.com) happily welcomes none other than Cathy Weseluck to the Emerald City! We're pleased to announce that Cathy will be joining us for the entire weekend and helping us celebrate the pony fun.  As you all know, Cathy gives voice to the plucky young dragon, Spike. In addition to our favorite purple reptile, she also voices the Ponyville's very own Mayor Mare.

Friendship is Magic isn't her first foray into the magical world of ponies, as Cathy played Rarity in her previous, G3 incarnation in The Runaway Rainbow. She also served as the singing director for My Little Pony Tales. But her vocal talents are far from limited to My Little Pony, as you'll surely recognize her from dubs of your favorite anime, such as Ranma 1/2, Death Note, Dragon Ball Z, and InuYasha!

So come on up to the great, green Northwest and reserve your badge now for a chance to meet and greet the voice behind the dragon. And stay tuned to your favorite pony news sites for more announcements in the coming DAYS!

It is with tremendous pleasure that Everfree Northwest brings you the one and only Tara Strong! As you probably know, Tara lends her voice to the bookish and magical unicorn we've all grown to love, Twilight Sparkle. Tara will be joining us throughout the weekend, celebrating all the pony fun, and giving fans the opportunity to meet and greet the voice behind the Element of Magic.

Tara may have charmed a new generation of fans in her role in My Little Pony, but you may also might remember her from such iconic animated series as The Fairly Oddparents, The Powerpuff Girls, Beetlejuice, Teen Titans, Ben 10, and numerous others.

Tara's talents hardly stop at television animation. She has also done voiceover work for several known video games and localization for internationally-acclaimed animated features, in addition to acting and singing work. The list of her accomplishments goes on forever, but Everfree 2012 does not, so register now and we'll see you in Seattle!

Doesn't matter, to be honest, my parents don't know I have an account here. When they found out I had a Twitter and wikia, they game me a lecture on internet safety. Those were both on differenct occasions. If they wouldn't lecture me about things I already know, I'd definatly try to participate. Unless someone decides to sell theirs online, I won't be able to go.

Fillies and Gentlecolts, you've given us no choice! Everfree Northwest is excited to announce that we’re expanding our venue to include the beautiful SeaTac Airport Marriott Hotel, which sits adjacent to our existing venue, the Holiday Inn. Adding this second venue gives us almost double the space and even more guest rooms!

Venue Expansion

The SeaTac Airport Marriott joins our team and adds even more space for us. Newly remodeled, the Marriott sits conveniently located across the street from the Holiday Inn and is happy to host us as one of their first events since renovating their extensive property. The Holiday Inn still remains our principal site and is working with us to help integrate our second venue into the event. With half a dozen ballrooms and over 13,000 square feet, this space gives us a unique opportunity to truly take Everfree Northwest to the next level.

Additional Memberships and Rooms

In light of our expansion--as well as popular demand--we are pleased to announce that we will begin taking registration for badges once again. However, we must caution that at this point, even with the new venue, that there are less than 450 spaces still available. General attendance badges and a limited number of Dealer’s badges will be available for the same price as before.

Registration re-opens on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 7:00PM Pacific Standard Time. Understand this is the ONLY time that we will have the opportunity to expand, and that after this additional run of badges is gone, there will be no more available.

Furthermore, our badges are NON-TRANSFERABLE. They cannot be scalped, traded, or re-sold since they require picture ID on site when acquired. Be wary of strangers advertising ticket sales or offering hefty prices to buy your own.

This venue expansion also allows us overflow guest room space. More information on hotels will be available on the official convention website later this week.

Sponsor Badges

In addition to the normal badges, a special, limited run of Sponsor Badges will be available which offers the holder some serious perks. Please stay tuned for further details later this week!

Schedule Delay

As we are working hard to integrate our new venue into the convention, please continue to be patient with regard to our programming and events schedule. We will have it available soon!

Show Talent Update

For those of you who missed it, here is our current lineup of Featured Guests:

Andrea Libman: Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy
Tabitha St. Germain: Rarity, Princess Luna, Granny Smith
Tara Strong: Twilight Sparkle
Michelle Creber: Apple Bloom, singing voice of Sweetie Belle
Cathy Weseluck: Spike the Dragon, Mayor Mare
Peter New: Big Macintosh
Lee Tockar: Steven Magnet, Snips

Plus let’s not forget our community guests and Ponystock headliners! For more information, check out: http://everfreenw.com/guests-featured.php (http://everfreenw.com/guests-featured.php)

Thank you everyone for being patient as we work out the logistics behind this venue expansion. Our website will reflect the changes shortly, and more information regarding registration, hotels, and possibly even a couple new guests will be announced in the next few days!

The Show-Stoppers are here! Please give a warm welcome to Claire Corlett and Madeleine "Maddy" Peters, who now join Michelle Creber to complete the Cutie Mark Crusaders at Everfree Northwest. We knew we couldn't stop at just one and that Apple Bloom would be lonely without her friends, so we offered them the chance once more to earn their cutie marks. Will they discover their super-special talents? Turns out they already have:

Claire Corlett's talented voice has found its way not only onto Friendship is Magic as Sweetie Belle, but to the hit PBS Kids show, Dinosaur Train and 3-2-1 Penguins! as well.

Maddy Peters not only voices the spirited Scootaloo, but also appeared in previous animated programs, such as Danger 5, Barbie: Princess Charm School, and My Little Pony's award-winning sister production, Martha Speaks.

These three, talented young stars are sure to steal the show this August. Registration re-opens this Saturday night at 7 Pacific, but space is still limited so hurry! The Cutie Mark Crusaders will be here. Will you?

This membership gives you one autograph from each voice actor or actress attending our convention, normally $20 each with a basic membership. Furthermore, Sponsor Membership holders receive 'front of the line' privileges to all voice actor panels & signings at our convention.
Due to the perks granted by these special badges, there is a limited number available for this tier of membership. If you would like to buy this tier of membership, please e-mail us directly at [email protected].
Already bought your badge? You can also upgrade your current membership to the Sponsor level by contacting us at [email protected].

Finally, in recent weeks, we've seen quite the surge of submitted works appearing in the Everfree NW 2012 conbook mailbox, and the excitement is growing! Good news, right? The trouble is, some folks are worried that they won't have their art ready in time for the deadline, and we've barely seen any action on the writing front. What's a publications director to do, right? Here's what:

1) The deadline for submissions has been extended to June 17. That's right; everyone gets an additional week to finish up that story or get that piece of art worked up.

2) We're putting out a special call to writers to get cracking! There's still room in the conbook for your original fiction, articles, and poems.

3) Look to our updated conbook information page -- http://everfreenw.com/conbook.php (http://everfreenw.com/conbook.php) -- for information about how to submit your work.

Remember, every Everfree NW attendee will receive a copy of the meticulously designed full-colour conbook. Over a thousand fans will see your published work, and it'll forever be part of their memories of the convention. Don't miss this chance!

Badges will be available for pickup at registration as long as you bring valid identification to prove it's your membership. If you paid, it is yours locked into stone and you WILL be allowed entry into the convention! :D

Also, Wilfred, I know for a fact now your membership was secured and taken care of. Again, my apologies for the confusion and here's hoping it gets better from here on out.

I meant how do you get them physically? My dad paid and selected the badges and all. Are they physical? Or something you print out?

We promised the music would never stop, dear pony friends! And with that in mind, we are proud to present three very special musical guests who have helped to make the musical world of My Little Pony complete.

William K. Anderson composes the beautiful score behind My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It would be nearly impossible to count every tender moment, heart-pounding action scene, and important lesson learned about friendship carried on the notes of William's music. His accomplishments are hardly limited to the world of Equestria, with notable work done for film and television, including the 2004 Miss America theme. Ever heard of Earthworm Jim? Biker Mice from Mars? Yeah, those themes are his, too.

Speaking of lessons in friendship, where would we be without Pinkie Pie and her enthusiasm for giving us words of silly wisdom through song? The talented woman behind the rose-colored pony's exuberant singing is none other than Shannon Chan-Kent. She also plays a petulant little pony you might have heard of, named Silver Spoon. Shannon can also be seen in the English dub of Deathnote as Miss Amane, and also in the Nickelodeon movie "Specatuclar!"

Last, but most certainly not least, is Kazumi Evans, who gives the Element of Generosity her voice when she breaks into song. In addition to Rarity's singing voice, you can also find Evans in the TV shows "The Troop" and "Princess Barbie Charm School."

You can find all three at Everfree Northwest, August 17-19 here in beautiful Seattle, Washington. Don't miss our comprehensive livestream from our friends over at www.everfreeradio.com , where everypony around the world can join the fun this summer!

We would also like to note that even though we are sold out of general memberships, a limited number of dealer's tables and sponsor badges remain, so if you still want in, please send an email to [email protected]!
