Right now my mom and I have this awesome blog idea that I am really excited about. I am new to blogging, but my real life job has to do with marketing and I have some basic skills in photoshop and a few adobe programs.
To help get me started, will you please share your blogs, and some tips? How often you post, getting an audience, etc?

I don't think my blog would meet the Pg-13 requirements but it was set out like an Amazing Race contest with various teams competing. Fluttershy and Applejack won the first one. :heart:

I have a blog about cosplay/costuming, aimed particularly at those new to the hobby. I advertise it through other social media (facebook, tumblr, etc.) and always keep an eye out for places I can relevantly bring up any of my articles. One night a post on bullying went somewhat viral for a couple days, which got me a lot more traffic, but little of it seems to have been long term readers. Advertising is all about persistence and patience.

Mine is in the process of being changed...I use it for various things, from recipes to craft ideas, to jewelry updates, though it is going to serve more of a craft bend when I get done with it. But, for now, til i get it all sorted out, it is just occasional musings and posts. =]
I plan on posting more, just been rather busy and occupied with other things. Getting an audience is both putting it forward to people, and constant clogging, from what I have been told.

Got two as well as a LJ I don't really use much as of late apart from a few comms and a Tumblr which has turned more into a random stuff blog.
1. Art blog linked in sig, basically just where I show off sketches and art pieces
2. Collecting blog, where I post about ponies, other toys, gaming and stuff

A forewarning, I am not computer saavy so I just used a basic template for my blog. I have been blogging for about a year and a half now. I am not out to have the most followers or anything like that, so I know for the most part people who follow me are interested in what I have to say. I mostly just share various book reviews in a wide variety of genres, and my adventures in trying to write a book. Every once in a while I also post something a little more personal or pony/craft oriented. I try to post at least 3 times a week, but some times its more, some times its less, but I try to stay consistant for myself and my readers.

Tumblr and writing/book blog in signature!
I majored in marketing, but no job in for it, lol!
My tips:
Post often (I'm guilty of not doing this)
Decide what you want to blog about and your targeted reader
Use images occasionally to break up the text
If you use WordPress, make use of the "read more" function if you have a long post
Get a good theme, something that reflects your personality
Check grammar and spelling before you post

I have one! It's not a very good example of regular posting and has a very small readership, if any. But, I post it because it's interesting to me. I try to tie in my blog with my website and to showcase whatever project I'm working on at the moment. Ramblings about my cat often end up appearing as well.

I totally agree about the theme thing! It's very important to have a design/theme that fits your personality and whatever it si you're blogging about. I tried to find the closest theme to my websites design. Whenever I feel that my website design is 'finished,' I'll sit down and do the css to make the blog match exactly.
