I volunteer at a no kill cat shelter and one the of the cats that I was really found of died. He had heart problems so we need he could go at anytime, but still... I need some cheering up pics. :cloud:

That is rough, sorry to hear that. Can I give you a happy cat picture? To be honest, I'm not really sure how impressed my cat was to be dressed up, but she was ever so patient with my kids, and it looked super cute.
We got Maddy and our other cat from the SPCA (NZ's animal rescue) as kittens. She is now 6 years old :)

Thanks everyone, it was just such a shock I saw him Saturday and he seemed fine. Marlin, your cat looks so cute.

That's the risk of working at a no-kill shelter, you get to do great things and help the kitties, but sometimes you see some bad things, too. :( I worked at a pet store and I saw some pretty upsetting things myself. :(
But this is meant for happy things to cheer you up.
So I'm going to tell you a story.
I got my cat from a no kill shelter. He was taped in a box and dumped on the side of the road with some other cats. The people at the no kill shelter found the cats and brought them to their shelter, even though they didn't have any room for them.
If it weren't for the caring folks at that no kill shelter, these cats would have died and I would have never met my lovely little Ghost.
So, even though you have some sadness now, know that you are helping a lot of cats that are in need. :)

I'm sorry you lost a good cat- it's never easy, even when you know it's coming.
