Do any of you have a favourite background pony in FiM ? Someone who doesn't have any special role (ex. Twist and Snails are not BG ponies).

There are too many to pick!
I think my favorites are Vinyl Scratch, Bonbon, Lyra, Sea Swirl (The purple and blue one with the dolphins as cutie marks), Caramel, and more.
I really wish Hasbro would put some more of their brushable ponies as background ponies like the did with Blossomforth. It made me so happy to see her in the show since she is one of my favorite brushables.

:muffin: Pony! It's become a challenge between me and my sister to see who can spot her first! I actually love trying to spot all of the background characters. It's always fun to see who's lurking around in an episode.

I'm kind of a fan of "Bon Bon" (she doesn't have a "real" name, does she? I really would like to use real names instead of made-up fan names). Her colours appeal to me, and I LOVE G1 Tales Bon Bon, and it seems this new pony might be an ode to her...maybe. It's a far-fetched idea, but she reminds me so much of the old Bon Bon.

Going on aesthetic, the pony who's been dubbed 'Fleur de lis' by the fandom is my favourite looking background character. I wish people had agreed on a different name for her. Her cutie mark is a fleur de lis. That's not a very creative name. That'd be like naming DJ-PON3 'Eighth Notes', it's so boring.

Definatly truffle shuffle. Followed by Pon 3 and the oh so cute bon bon(Although I really hate how they keep changing her voice around!)
:muffin: Pony is a good one but I don't consider her as much of a bg chara given her fanon fame.

I would have to say Colgate, Minuette is her Hasbro name. I love spotting her in episodes.

If we're narrowing "background" to just those without speaking/interaction roles or known occupations, the you-just-glimpse-them-and-then-they're-gone type ponies, then.... that handsome new constellation pegasus has really caught my eye. Otherwise, I'd probably go with Lucky, but I think he's actually had a speaking part at least once.
What about flashback/once-off/fictional appearances? Like Granny Smith's dad, Twilight's dad, or even... dare I say it... Daring Do? :P

Yes, I agree. There are several younger style ponies I like as well.
On a side note, I hope Hasbro doesn't decide to make all the fillies blank flanks. That's supposed to be special to the CMC... that's why they're the Cutie Mark Crusaders in the first place.

I love :muffin: Pony, she's probably one of my favorite ponies of all.
Lyra/Heartstrings is another favorite, because I just love those colors. Same goes for Roseluck, one of the few blindbag ponies I sought out - the yellow and dark red/pink is just a lovely combination. And Doctor Whooves, of course. ^^
I was so excited to see Blossomforth as a background pony. I hope we see more brushables appear on the show!

There are two pegasi with shaggy manes that I love. :)
One has the same colour scheme as SS Twilight & one's a dusty sort of yellow. I think their fan names are Rainbow Day & Dizzy Twister.
I'd love it if they got speaking roles. :3

I completely agree with this! I like the colour combo on Bon Bon - I wish HB would give her a name so I dont feel silly using fan names...

This is difficult. I love all of them, really (I hope they make them all brushables, it's nice to see Lyra, Vinyl, Daisy, Lemon Hearts, and :muffin: Pony [well, Fashion Style at least]) I want more. Like a Roseluck brushable would be nice. Or a brushable Roid Rage (lol). As long as I get more ponies, I'm fine.

I love Tropical Storm (green pegasus with pink hair), she doesn't appear that often but she's my favourite colours ever! <3 I also love Lyra (*so* wish she'd just stayed as Heartstrings) and Roseluck.

Gosh, there are too many to choose just one... :muffin: Pony, Carrot Top, Lyra, DJ PON3, Octavia, Berry Punch, Colgate, Nurse Red Heart, the spa twins, Screw Loose, Screw Ball, and that member of Photo Finish's entourage that looks like her.
I think I can narrow it down to Lyra and :muffin: Pony. They've always been some of the more animated/quirky background ponies and most of the fan stuff that revolves around them is so adorable and hilarious.
I'm really excited for the toys of them and I hope the only reason they haven't released Bon Bon yet is because Hasbro is saving their pennies to get the rights to her name back since the new Bon Bon is probably too much like the old Bon Bon to get away with. I'd hate to have a Bon Bon-less Lyra. :cry:

And I love Octavia's expression, Berry Punch's cutie mark, Lyra/Heartstrings, and Holly Dash! (who, apparently, was based off one of the animators? ^^)
Oh and, the pony that looks like Marie Antoinette with her fancy feathered updo during "At the Gala" too. :happy:
