Title: WARNING SCAM missbrownsboy2011
Post by: blonde2themax on March 28, 2012, 03:09:13 PM
Hello fellow pony lovers,

I have been subjected to a pony scam on eBay.  I emailed the seller multiple times inquiring about any flaws my baby Licorice may have.  Miss Brown told me that she had no flaws and to bid with confidence.  So being the person I am I fully trusted her.  Well it turned out the pony had huge gauges in  her plastic body, tail rust, and cuts.  To say that I was disappointed was a major understatement.  I spoke with the seller through email and we came to a compromise.  We agreed that if I would send it back to her she would refund my full purchase.  So being as this was my first time sending back an item I didn't insistent on getting tracking for my package (although I did try, my postal service said they don't do confirmation numbers).  I waited a month for my refund and it just didn't happen.  I then opened a case with eBay to see if I could get my money back.  Well they aren't able to help me really...because I didn't have a confirmation that the package was received... so basically I had a good cry and I am at a lost.  I have been trying to contact the seller but she refuses to respond.  So basically I don't have my money or my item.  I guess that is what you get for trusting people nowadays...

I'm so sorry to hear about how this person has taken advantage of you, not once, but twice! I would be terribly upset too :(

Scammers are the absolute worst >> That's horrible, thanks for reporting the seller, I'll make sure never to buy from them.

"(although I did try, my postal service said they don't do confirmation numbers)" if you are in the US the post office does have tracking numbers if the package is being sent outside the US by first class mail international it is called registered mail (it costs $11.75) you also have to seal all the box seams with brown paper tape so it can be round dated stamped. The people at the post office should have known that or suggested you ship priority mail international. Do you have your post office receipt with the customs number on it? You can get limited tracking with those numbers on the usps.com website.

I am not sure what else you can do, if you already contacted ebay.  It's a shame.

That's so sad that that happened to you.
All you can really do now Is leave her negative feedback. :/

I'm sorry this happened to you.

For future reference, ebay will NEVER award if refund if you do not have proof of delivery. Hard lesson to learn, but a good one to remember. The U.S. post office CAN put tracking and confirmation on just about anything, so don't let them tell you they can't. They usually just assume you don't want to pay for the service.

I'm so sorry to hear this    Missbrownsboy has caused problems before  like Ponylady said   she is definitely deserving of a negative feedback and a comment reflecting what happened to you!
I just wish that you could have got your refund as well  :(

And now she is NARU. :faint:

I would give ebay a call back in the AM and demand they look into it again.

I was under the impression it took up to 45 days to close an ebay account and in that time you couldn't have any pending sales, you couldn't buy or sell!

What the heck is up with this!

I'm soo sorry you have to go through this!!

It doesn't have to be the seller who closes the account, ebay will shut you down in a heartbeat for numerous reasons.  And most of the time when they do it's for something pretty bad.

So sorry to hear this but I second the motion that you fight to get your money back.  As this seller has serious problems with negative feedback there must be something that can be done.  Give ebay a call and don't give up! x

Hi, I'd like to put an input into this. I bought from the same seller the winger Sun Glider, I paid £7.00 WITHOUT postage and when she arrived, she was an absolute STATE. it took so much cleaning and grooming to get her actually looking decent. I will agree, this seller clearly doesn't list items correctly :( xxx

Update:

I spoke to eBay yesterday and tried to reason with them.  I still kept my receipts from when I sent my package out.  I gave them that information.  They basically told me they would send an email to her asking her to refund me because there wasn't much they could do.  So I took the compromise and just went with it.  Later on that evening I was reading my email and I was flabbergasted. EBay had reviewed my case again and decided to refund my money!!!!!!!!! I was so happy I screamed!!!! :D  Thanks so much for everyone's support.  I'll definitely be more careful with who I purchase from.

Glad to hear that things worked out once you got ugly with Ebay.  :)

Thank you for coming here to share your terrible experience.  This seller is on the Bad Trader List so that others can prevent something like this from happening to them as well.  Hopefully it will save you some frustration in the future, too!
