A note to whoever gets their stickers first: Please PM me ASAP xD Id like to get an official OT Sticker swap Brag thread going, rather then posting on this board and or making a lot of individual posts.

Addresses will be sent out on MONDAY! I hope everyone is pretty much ready to ship! Along with addresses I will be asking for an update.

STICKER SWAP!

Welcome to the sticker swap!
This swap is all about one thing! Yep, STICKERS!

Since this is an OFF TOPIC swap, My Little Pony stickers will not be the main focus of this swap, but they are more then welcome if you feel like including them. This is also a super secret random swap, DO NOT pm or let your partner know who you are! If you have a question about your partner, PLEASE ask me and I will pm them and return the answer to you as soon as I have it. The first secret word is Sticky. Last but not least, don't ask to ship too early, don't do all your shopping in one day at one shop. You have about a month to shop and think about this, and most importantly to have fun picking out stickers. I will not be giving out addresses until the end of the month. :P


The rules and requirements:
~You need to be at least 16
~have at least 3 positive feedback (Ebay can count for 1)
~have been an arena member for 3 months
~your partners will be surprises so don't tell them who you are!
~minimum spending $15 this does not count towards shipping or extras.
~stickers should either be new unopened or individual unused sheets
~opened stickers should be unused sheets these would count as $1-1.50 each of the minimum price.
~opened stickers that are cut up, would be counted as extras.
~non sticker extras are welcome but shouldn't be the focus and are also not counted in the spending price.
~shipping is also not counted in the spending price.

Regarding International shipping, If you absolutely cant then I will try to partner you accordingly, but as this is a smaller swap that MAY be harder to do, I will do my best though. The second secret word is stickeronies. Please if you cant finish this swap for whatever reason, let me know ahead of time so that I can re-arrange things so that its fair, or possibly buy stickers for someone so people are not left out.
When filling out your application, do not list sticker BRANDS.

I am interested for sure!

I don't really know how expensive stickers are, but I think $15-$20 sounds ok.
As for the time frame.. I would appreciate at least a month for shopping, as I'm not able to get downtown very often, and that's where all the good sticker finds would be!

I might change it to just $15, none of this information is set in stone, I plan on changing it a lot based on what people are interested in, until I actually start taking on members if the interest level is great enough.

as a sort of base line, I think since this is a OT swap, Id be interested in starting with 5-10 members, but if more people are interested, id be willing to go higher.

oh no sorry this is NOT specifically a MLP only sticker swap, IM sorry I will edit the original post. this is a off topic swap so MLP stuff would not be required! :p

when I get more interest I will put together a application, you will be asked to list your favorite things or themes of stickers and other things about yourself, so that your partner can pick out stickers based on that. weather you decide to ask for MLP stickers is totally up to you. ^^

I am interested fore suuuuuuuuuure! :)  I just don't know how many extras I could do besides the stickers.  I couldn't send as much stuff as you do for like a pony swap.  Keep us posted if you do apply to do this swap.  I dont want to miss it.

oh gosh no, extras would be small and shouldn't be very expensive, they can be anything like little trinkets or snacks that sort of thing, i personally wouldn't spend more then $5 on extras for this swap, and that is separate from the minimum listed amount. i actually really love handmade extras personally xD

You should think about shipping costs and what the prices for stickers are in different countries.  Some people cant afford to ship international, and stickers can range in price anywhere from $1-$5 a sheet, depending where you are and what brand it is (Something like Sandylion will obviously be more expensive).  Stickers also come on big or small sheets, rolls, and in bags of 100.

Another thing to concider is whether things should have coverage incase a package goes missing.  I know ive personally had to deal with this and im thankful that I had it, even though the paperwork, phonecalls and stress was a huge pain in my side.


I love stickers but right now I cant really poke at a swap for them.  Hope you get things sorted out ok :)

Im thinking that if I have only 5 people interested then that is fine, but I will keep it up for a few days just to say, I will talk to a mod tonight and see if i need to be approved first. then ill make a application and start listing members. I dont really think this needs to be a HUGE swap. :)

Yea thats interesting around here I can get a nice sheet for about 1.89 US dollars. I never buy the ones that are over 3.00 unless there is a 40% off sale and I notice Michaels has those often.  No one has to use Sandylion if they are too expensive for their budget.  If the swap was say dropped to 10.00 then that would probably be 4 sheets of stickers if they are 2.00 each and you are counting taxes and one has to realize too that if you hit a sale you might be able to get more for that 10.00.  I know my sticker companies well, so I would know if I got expensive ones and that would make the amount less..but I am a collector of stickers.  So I see your point there about that.  Its very similar to a pony swap. When you have tons of ponies on a list but you get the most expensive ones..that person will get less ponies,,,but a nice expensive pony. 
The shipping weight on 4 sets is lower than a pound for sure.  It is true that certain people might have a harder time finding stickers depending on where they are, if they can't order them online either maybe they could try a loose sticker swap at some point.  If folks are concerned about international...maybe what would work there is if possible the closest to them could be their partner. :)   I know for myself its very hard to store tons of loose stickers compared to sheets, but I do love Grossman and Sandylion and they always come on smaller sheets...so for them I will take small and loose, but for others..that would drive me crazy to have tons of loose stickers. I think I would never know what all I had even with the organized system I have. :lol:

Sure, I would do this. I do agree that $10 minimum is a good price. I can get a lot of good stickers for that. I shop the sales too. I think a month is plenty of time.

I think it would be a good idea to make sure that you are getting stickers for your partner that they would be interested in.
I do think that maybe if it is going to be a secret swap than TrueVampiress you should get like 5-10 specific interests of the participants and let the person's partner know the interests so that they can get appropriate stickers?
$15-20 is a good price range because when it comes to stickers they can range from $2-5 for some really nice ones...

im not sure if boxes will be needed, unless you decided to do some bulky extras, but I guess its left up to your own discretion, if you use and envelope or soft pack of any kind, make sure that its sturdy and wont bend and wont let any water in. Possibly even protect your stickers in plastic bags if you can.

oh gosh I didnt even think about allergies! thank you for reminding me! send me a pm with yours and ill add it to your application, and then I will also be adding that to the form as well. that definitely DOES matter lol.

as far as extras, I figured people could use this thread to discuses things, in the past when iv joined a swap, iv noticed that people use the thread to ask questions, without being directed to your partner of course, and then everyone answers them. I personally think its a fun way to get to know a little about everyone.

for example someone might ask "what is everyone's favorite type of candy?" then everyone in the swap could answer in the main thread. that way the person who asks can wait for their partner to answer and then other people might be able to use the same information for their partner as well. However if you want a more direct answer to a question, feel free to pm me and I can ask your partner for you. :D

there isn't exactly a price limit on extras, the one rule though is that it cant exceed the swap price minimum, in this case $15. Whatever the extras end up being, the stickers should still be the "highlight" of the contents.

I used to get the big ones from Circle K when I was a kid in Arizona.  I have a nacho chip one, eucalyptus, roses mother's day) some cague nice scent on a hot air balloon for father's day...and some I can't even think of.  Those were my favorites.  They all had the little circle K logo on them

Yeah all my Mello Smello ones still smell.  Also some really thin decal-like strawberry ones.  And this is from the mid 80s.  Others...not so much

Yea its amazing that those Mello Smello's can still hold a scent after all of this time.  I love those. I don't think I have any in my collection at this point.  I have tons of vintage stickers though.

What kind of sticker albums did you guys have as a kid?  I can't find sticker books any more.  Just the ones that have stickers in then abd spaces for them..not...freeform.  So to speak. lol  Like m y favorite ones were the Stuck on Stickers and my Rainbow Brite books.  They had a page for "favorites" "sctratch n Sniff" and "Sparkly" and so on.

when i was in, jr high I think. my mom brought us all to florida for our spring break, and we went into this massive toy store called FAO i think, she got me this sticker book "binder" that had lots of empty sheets for stickers, they also had labels for like puffy, smelly, holos etc, I wish I still had it, lol it was pretty cool cause you could move the pages around and stuff. :p

Well I never had a sticker album. I stored my stickers much like I do now, in containers. When I was really young we kept them on anything that we could peel them off of to trade. I would have loved an album. I am not sure why we never got one. I know they had to have made them back in my childhood era as well.

rofl my son loves stickers too xD hes got this shabby old shelf/table next to his bed that iv allowed him to stick stickers to (only because it avoids them being stuck to the tv or furniture like when he was younger xD) this shelf is almost solid stickers rofl, its kinda cool actually because hes been sticking things to it for about 4 years now. it sort of details his interests as he gets older lol.

my childhood sticker book ended up being trashed by me. i removed the stickers and put them in a new binder home, but the book itself with old school stickers has been destroyed. wish i knew a bit better back then. i was a cool sticker book, i dont think i have every sticker that was in it, but i still have a lot of them.

Everyone should have a partner now! A little later then I expected. Let me know if you didn't get a partner, Im always biting my nails thinking I messed this part up xD so please let me know!

Some applications were a little small so if you have any questions for your partner PM me and ill try and get that information for you.

Now as far as extras go, you should ask questions in this thread without directing them to your partner. example: "what is your favorite snack/candy?" or "Who likes the color red?" and everyone should try to answer these questions, this way we might all get answers to questions we might not of thought of, and its kinda fun getting to know everyone. That being said, everyone should try and keep an active role in this thread.

OH LOL. I was typing my response thinking "why would I want things from where I live and how would my partner get them anyway?"  :blink:

It's a no from me though. I'm not really into touristy stuff.
For animals other than the ones on my sign-up form I like big cats like lions, tigers, etc.
And different kinds of sea life like lobsters, crabs, clams, seahorses. Anything but just plain old boring fish. Baby animals too!

Well I am not so much into stickers from certain areas, but I can see why they are desired by some.  As far as animals go I am a huge and I mean huge Panda fan.  I also really love sheep.  I love birds as well.  My mom raised birds when I was growing up. We had this funny parrot name Crystal.  So I am especially fond of the colorful birds of the amazon as well as outdoor birds like cardinals and the like.  Owls are so beautiful. We have many out here in my neighborhood so, I love them as well.

I would totally love stickers from my partner's state or country. I think it's fun! I also like decal stickers for my car.

I like animals too. Especially horses, deer, foxes and my daughter loves cats. I just love hummingbirds and like other birds too. Also seahorses, can't get enough of them and other sea creatures.

For me: I love all the little blind bag toys..like Hello Kitty, Lalaloopsy, The Trash Pack; I also love squinkies..hello kitty and my twinn stars, Japanese Puzzle Erasers and those adorable Claires Big Eyed animals with sounds Yoo Hoo and friends...Our family loves the cutness of Claires products.  I also love Snoopy and Precious Moments, Holly Hobbie and Betsy Clark and Joan Walsh, Fairy Tail birds, Sweetie Kitties....I realize the number of stuff I love is endless...I love everything thats joyful, brightly colored, happy and sweet...some of my other interests can be found in the links below my hello kitty siggy.

Besides ponies I collect hello kitty and all of her friends (stationary, figures, squinkies, etc.), cute pens/pencils, enchanted kingdom horses and other fantasy horses, cute beads/charms for jewelry making, ribbon, fabric, lps Blythe (and Polly Pocket shoes for them), cute tea cups/mugs (I'm an herbal tea maniac), cute measuring spoons (I love cooking), bookmarks, magnets, and little accessories that are pony sized for staging pony scenes. All in all anything cute and small.

Ok, now you all know what a nerd I am. Ha ha...

ROFLOL my husband and I have a motto....its the people that don't collect anything and have no other interests but working that are nerds..we are the "normal" people. LOL  Oh and I mean this in a joking way totally..the other part of that motto is if you don't like toys, you need therapy. ROFLOL  Chances are you just are not having any fun and have not smiled in weeks. LOL :lol: And if you don't look at the simple, fun things of life and shout out in total enjoyment, then chances are you have never lived.  We live by this motto..actually my whole family does..its our excuse away from nerd status. :hifive:

I like all animals... especially fuzzy, little, adorable ones :)  Bunnies, chipmunks and squirrels, kitties and puppies, mice, that kind of thing.


The only thing I collect besides ponies is tiny glass/porcelain animals. I just enjoy how diminutive they are. I have a glass camel, and a toucan with babies. And a porcelain puppy, kitty, and pig. And a little turtle made out of fire opal pieces from Mexico ^^ I keep them on a shelf with an equally tiny sand zen garden. Sometimes they also have tea parties with my little Swarovski tea cups :P

Animals I love: Hyenas (duh XD) thylacines, lions, ocelots, servals, snakes, prsying mantises and house centipedes, rottweilers and dobermans, um...can't think of any more favorites right now.  But I love most animals.  XD 

Collect: Keys, ThunderCats, Rainbow/Rainbow Brite, CPKs, Garbage Pail Kids cards  (I love those! XD) books, Lion King stuff.

Oh boy when it comes to candy I can only have a few kinds due to my health conditions. I miss so many types of candies its not even funny.  Charms Blow Pops and Life Savers Gummies Very Berry Flavor regular life savers hard candy and candy corn I can have.  I have to stay away from any candy that has juices in it, lemon, lime or orange flavorings, chocolate, nuts, or glycol products...milk or cocoa or mint/spices.  I am sure there are other kinds I can have, but I always have to read the ingredients.  Candy and I are sadly separated for the most part. Sigh...can't wait to be able to eat more of it again.

Aside from ponies we also collect Monster High dolls, I did have over 50 of them, but I felt it was getting a little out of hand, so I've sold a few off and now only keeping the signature version of each character and all of the Lagoonas for myself, and my daughters each have a version of the main characters.
We also love nail polish and lip gloss.

As far as candy goes... I am not eating that at the moment due to health issues, but anything that could be shared with a 2 year old and a 4 year old would be great, ie: no hard candy or toffees or bubble gum etc.

Ok ok I seem to be in the minority with this swap.. I LOVE sweets! Chocolate is my favorite (milk and white). Some things in particular are candy bars, m&ms, solid chocolates, cookies and cream, truffles, creamy "liquid" caramels, peanut butter cups, cookies, chips, cakes, crackers, nuts.. lol anything.
The only things I don't really care for are gummi candies or sour stuff, with the exception of really cool novelty things. And dark chocolate is not my preference, but I will eat it hahaha.

I collect small figures (like the ones you get in kinder eggs or the quarter machines at the grocery store) mostly in the shape of different animals or monsters. Those "trash pack" toys are fun! I love weird little critters like that. I like weird stuff in general.. (for example if it makes you go "ewww gross" or "WHAT is that!?" I'd probably think it's totally awesome, lol)
I love bracelets.. all different colors and types! I wear them every day.
Pens, cool keychains, hairbows and ribbons, buttons/pins, film/movie related stuff, anything with cute doggies, owls, sheep, spiders.
I also have dogs and they don't have dietary restrictions.

Animals: I pretty much love all animals xD I especially love birds. I LOVE tigers cant get enough, my first tattoo was a tiger even xD. I also love llamas and then goats, deer (pretty much any animal with horns). as far as bugs, I really only like butterflies or especially moths.

non pony collection: I have a few, I used to collect clawdeen MH exclusively, but I dont have room so iv stopped xD. I collect littlest pet shop as well and have been trying to find a tiger one with no luck, however im not a fan of the newer walking/furry/tini lps, but the new "creatures" i love xD i cant remember what they are called iv only seen them once. beside that, my son and i collect rocks xD just normal rocks that look different. He collects marbles.

candy/sweets: I mostly love chocolate, and mint chocolate. or soft gummy things, nothing super chewy please. starburst/jollyrancher/jellybelly brand jelly beans are good too xD i love the pear flavor jellybellys and my son loves the orange rofl.

I have one son who is 8, hes into so many things xD at the moment though his biggest interest is legos, and video game characters, mario, bowser, yoshi, then crash and donky kong and pokemon of course. xD like i mentioned before he collects marbles and his own stickers. hes also totally obsessed with Wild Kratts and phineas and ferb (I dont know how he even knows about the last one since we dont have cable xD)

as for pets: I have 1 dog a pomeranian, and 2 cats, xD then we also have 2 newts, 4 snails, and my sons 2 fish "bob" and "gob" xD Is far as anything that they might be interested in, my dog will eat anything, the cats are picky and really only enjoy the occasional cat nip but we have a lot of that xD.

I do not have any children.  I have two cats and a dog but none of my pets can handle snack foods or stuff like that.  My little dog is a Japanese Chin and he is about 5 pounds. He loves tiny soft vinyl squeeky toys.  My cats do not play with anything at all.

I like them and I enjoy fruity scents or "water" ones like rain, mist, ocean, etc, and natural earthy scents. I like soap if it's shaped like something neat, but don't use any other specialty bath stuff.

For me its all things girly. I love pink, aqua, purple, orange and yellow.  I love rich, bright colors more than pastels.

I don't have any specific favorite colors, but I generally like bright colors - red, orange, yellow, hot pink/purple, vivid greens and blues. Hehe.  :P I also like black in combination with other colors. Red/white/blue combination is a big like.

Favorite color: Purple, teal, pink. But don't feel like you have to make everything these colors at all, I'm cool with stickers of any color :)


Smells: Jasmine, lavender, cocoa, earthy smells


candy: hate coconut, like dark chocolate and sour candies


Place where my swap partner lives: If it's somewhere cool, sure I'd love stickers related to it!

Favorite colors: any shades of green and blue (teal, turquoise, sea, grass, etc.), purple, orange, yellow and gray. Both pastels and darker colors. But I like stickers in all colors. :) Smells: Bath and body products I like coconut, vanilla and grapefruit/citrus. Candles and other stuff like that I like earthy scents and coconut/vanilla/citrus/orange blossom. Not big into really flowery scents.

I was wondering the same thing actually.....
I think I will wrap most things, including the stickers...... it makes it more fun for the person receiving it, adds to the suspense! LOL!

My daughter and I have just got home from the shops & we have finished our swap shopping!
We are going to spend the afternoon wrapping & packaging!
My partner has so many things on their 'likes' list, I wish I could have purchased more, but I didn't want to go too much over budget as I understand how that can make people uncomfortable (a little over budget is okay though....right? as long as we're not spending $100 on a $15 swap lol)

So coooooool, I like the newsprint. Its so rare we get to wrap with that due to dye transfer on ponies..and its so much fun to look at after you open everything.  Great teaser photos!!  I can't remember, but  think I only wrapped the extras and left the stickers unwrapped..but I am not sure now..LOL

They came today! Thank goodness. I ordered a sticker book too, and it was described at 'used but in good condition', well I got it today and I was appalled. Pages were ripped, all the stickers were gone, and pages were falling out! This was bought from a big book company on eBay!

Here's my teaser! I didn't have any wrapping paper so I used pages from an old MLP magazine! There are three parcels, but there are at least three sheets of stickers in each parcel. I'm planning on getting a little candy when it's time to post.

I think thats fine, the way I see it is, everyone should be just about done shopping by now (hopefully) and this "week" is for shipping, if you cant get to the PO until Thursday, thats no big deal. However let me know if it becomes later.

I just wanted to mention that some of us, myself included pick up our mail at a location other than our home...so if you notice something says delivered but you have not seen it on the brag thread..or heard anything...well, it just might be because it hasn't been picked up yet.  This happened on another swap and I just wanted to mention it.  My post office never has any mail on Saturdays because he closes early.  Then Monday everything arrives after closing time so, I usually don't call him to check for mail until Wednesdays and then again on Fridays.
