So I bought a lot of three ponies off of ebay and only realized AFTER they'd been shipped that Paypal gave the seller the wrong address. I updated my info, but for some reason Paypal still insists on reverting back to my old address. I forgot to double-check before sending payment.
So I have a tracking number and everything, but they are headed to the wrong place!
Any idea what I can do? I have been getting my mail forwarded, but I think they only do that for two months and not for packages anyway. I have no idea if someone else has moved into the old place or not. I suppose I could sort of stalk the place for a few days, as it's not far from where I am now.

UPDATE 03/17/2012
Got them! I got home yesterday to find a pink note in my mailbox that something was at the local PO for me. As I am expecting a few different packages, I wasn't sure which it was. Picked it up today and it's my missing girls! Mimic, Braided Beauty, and Daddy Sweet Celebrations are safe with me! I already alerted the seller and left her positive feedback on ebay.
Thanks for your help, everyone!

I'd knock on the door and / or leave a note!
-
i'd try to catch em when they're home and explain what happened, if someone moved in.

I did the exact same thing. One package was returned to sender. The other one .... No clue. I lost out on it. It was my fault so I didn't file anything with eBay. The package that got returned, I had contacted the seller to let them know what happened and they contacted me when they got it back.

I did notify the old residence just in case but they said neither package showed up there at all. The post office supposedly won't deliver if the names don't match what they have on record.

 Rose That stinks!
I would try what the others mentioned and go and see if someone lives there now.
If not it will just be returned to sender. Have you contacted your seller yet to tell them what happened?

ow that stinks! I had it 3 weeks ago. My housenumber was wrong and the package was returned to the seller.
I think you can go to the place and explain tot he people who life there now what happend. Hope everything will turn out just fine!

Wow. I just got that package I mentioned was missing. It came from Hong Kong and seems like it took its sweet time!
Seems like your best bet is to alert the sellers.

According to the tracking, it went out for delivery today but was marked Undeliverable As Addressed. I let the seller know. She'll let me know if it goes back to her and I'll let her know if it gets forwarded to me.
I *would* do this with the lot that had Mimic in it!

*hugs* what a pain! how stressful for you. You let your seller know though and she will hopefully just send it out to the right addy once it gets returned to her, unless it gets delivered to your old addy and the people there pass it on to you. I hope that it arrives safely soon

Paypal does the same with me. I have to be so careful every time.
-
Does anyone have any idea how long it'll take the package to make its way back to the seller? Maybe I'm just being a tad impatient, but now I'm all antsy.

It depends on where they came from. One of mine was in the USA, so the seller received it back before I even noticed to contact him. The other one was hong kong.. And they didnt get it back for like 3 weeks, then it took 4 weeks to ship it back to me

Well, the seller and I are in the same state. :) I'm in Chicago, IL and she's in Des Plaines, IL.
-
I would think it should make it back to her within a week if it was in the same state.
But let's remember we are talking about the United States Postal Service here :P I am yet to trully figure out there ways.

*nods in agreement with ponylady* :relaxed: actually I'd say give it 2 weeks . Hopefully it will make it back to her within a week , but you never know.. I had a parcel returned to me 2 weeks after I sent it and it only went to the local depot as far as I can tell *rollseyes*
