At the craft store today they were doing one of those drives where you buy a book for a dollar to donate for children, and they had PONY BOOKS in the mix! There were three different ones total I think (not pictured: a CMC story).
Next time anyone in the US goes to Michael's, you should check it out! And maybe buy one... or two... or twelve! They're only a dollar, after all. :)

This I might wanna check out at Michael's next time I go out. I hope there's more than just 3 stories.

Aww, those look cute~! I wish I knew a child to give them to; I don't really collect the books for myself.
-
Yet another store my area doesn't have, hooray.
-
How fun!! I need to check!
-
Darn, Micheal's is a little bit away from here, but I might look for them if I get a chance to go there!
-
How great of Michael's to donate books to kids! :)
-
Thanks for sharing. I have to go to Michael's anyway to return something so I can look for these too! Yay!

Note to self: stopping by Michael's on the way home from work tonight...
-
Wait. A little confused.
Give them a dollar, you pick one of the books and they donate both to donation?
Or
Give them a dollar, they give the dollar to the donation and you get a book to compensate for dollar?

I was about to ask this too  I've seen charity drives operate both ways.

They didn't have them at the Michael's I visited today. This particular Michael's had another charity drive and I asked her about the procedure. At this Michaels, when you purchase the books, you don't get to keep them but instead donate them immediately.

I stopped by Michael's tonight on the way home. There was a charity book drive there, a large bin sitting at the front of the store. But you didn't buy the books and take them, you bought a book that Michael's was already selling (they have a bunch of very young children's books as well as coloring books) and put them in the donation bin. You don't take the books with you unless you're buying it for yourself.
However there were no G4 books at this Michael's anyway. There were only G3 stories like The Runaway Rainbow. And the donation bin was filled with mostly coloring books lol.
