Title: What to do with multiples??
Post by: mlp4me on March 04, 2012, 08:38:13 AM
Ok, I emptied out my tote with all of my doubles, triples, quadriples, octopules.... just to see who I have and maybe if I could put them out on display...

AAAhhhhh! It's overwhelming! Like there's too many and they should go away! Am I crazy?? Please tell me it's ok to have this many hoarded? (Yeah, the pony room is also a disaster which is not helping thought processes at all...)

(Parasol follows me like a plague... why can't I find that many bubbles???)

Edit: I found more multiples! Hiding in the closet...

Show me your overwhelming abundances of doubles so I don't feel so bad, please!

Awhh that's so lovely! I reckon you should sell them and put the money towards ponies you really, really want. If there are some that found their way to you 'specially' like some of mine do, then keep those ones. Either way, have fun,  there's a lot there :D xxx

I've tried selling the commons in the past and have had very little interest.
I've even begun customizing some just to make them look a little different... that helps, but after awhile I feel bad for not keeping them original...

Ahh, I did that too and felt bad! Maybe in a lot on ebay? I sold a lot of my duplicates that way and funnily enough people actually did bid :D xxx

I don't have any pictures of my doubles but I cannot seem to get away from Baby Glory. She is the one pony I keep finding.  I've also got a little army of Wind Whistler but she is on purpose. Lol I guess if I had come across doubles like yours... Iunno I'd prolly keep them all too!

I wish I had doubles..
If I had doubles thou I would trade them most likely since Im eager to get more ponies. Once I got enough ponies that I have hard time finding last ones.. I'm gonna start keeping doubles because I want to. I usaully take a bit broken or "bait" ponies anyway.. to fix them!

Wish I would find doubles in the fisrt place.

I'd sell them. Mostly because I wanna buy 'em!

Seriously though, you should sell them. Money for one that's really rare that you don't have or even a MOC/MIB.

Or maybe find someone to trade with that has ponies you want? :)

I sell all mine :P Except if I get extra Skydancers, she's my favourite ;)

I have like...6 G3 Star Swirl's. I feel like I have an honorary army of her now. It's not too bad as I think she's pretty. Wish it was that many G4 Star Swirls, but I'll live. :I
I have lots of other doubles/triples too, but I don't sell my ponies, so they just pile up...

You trade them to me, of course! ;D I still love all the ponies I got from you.

I love having multiples of ponies I really like. With G1s, they're all at least a little different due to playwear, haircuts, minor symbol variations, etc. With G3s, it's fun and easy to give them different hair styles since their manes are longer than the manes of the early G1s I adore.

I find myself keeping two duplicates because of hair length or because maybe one has lighter tinsel than the other. I think it depends on the pony. I also have a upgrade of one of my childhood ponies so I do have a few duplicates here and there.

I'd take a few. . . :P

On another note, it looks like Kermit is swooning from the number of duplicates himself!

I save them for swaps. If that's not your thing, you could sell them, or use them as play ponies (not if they're exc.-minty condition- I'd sell or trade those). Some of my lesser condition ponies are ones that I carry around in my purse to lift my mood! ^_^

You could probably post it here on the arena! I don't have a lot of the common ones, so I'd definitely be interested to see what you have for sale or trade! I'm sure I'm not the only one!

It's always nice to make some money to use on other ponies :)

I always manage to "justify" keeping them! I have to resist ebay lots as other wise I would have been swamped long ago!

I keep my doubles :) Mostly because I have a hard time parting with any pony, lol. They come in handy for trades (if I can convince myself to part with them :P ) and I use them to display ponywear, to decorate with, or to take places with me so I dont have to worry about messing up my only "copy" of a certain pony :) I don't have a picture of mine though, since they're mixed in with the rest of my collection rather than having their own section.

I have like 4 cotton candy's good grief. Oh well.  I have a few other doubles. I really need to try to sell them even if it is for a low price just to clear them out.

Yup, trade them here, I bet a lot of people would want common ones for armies.

Heh, I have a pile of duplicates on my desk and desk chair right now myself! I'm eventually going to try to sell them once I get pictures of them all.

I keep mine, or bait them. Usually I buy them as bait then decide that they're too good to bait and put them on the shelf.

I have started two armies that way.  ;)

I'd sell them.

I have a ton of multiples (mostly g3s) and I'm trying to get rid of them (slowly) through sales.

I have alot of Sundance lying around, i just keep 'em :)
There is almost no want for such common ponies and i won't customize a good looking Sundance.

I take them all =3  And display them all (except the G3's... actually are stored in my closet...)

Some (the most) are unintentional armies, but a few are really intentional (my dear Mexicans), and others just because I couldn't let behind the pony... and a lot others because I haven't put my lazy self to take pics to sell or trade...

I don't have pics at hand, but if I remember, I'll post them.  Ponies are taking over my room o.o

They can move in with us anytime.  Ponys love the weather here.
