Title: TAF Baby Milky Way - Haircut?
Post by: babystarz on March 01, 2012, 02:47:16 PM
I was super excited to get my TAF Baby Milky Way in the mail today. Unfortunately, as soon as I unwrapped her I started freaking out. I think she has had a mane trim. I started looking at pictures of other TAF Baby Milky Ways, and the end of the hair is either not visible in them, or messy enough that the hair looks uneven so I can't tell if this is normal for her or not.

It looks like she could have had a jagged trim and the bottom of the mane was left alone. Some of the blue streak is longer than the rest too. Here forelock is also an uneven length.

Aside from this she's in practically mint condition, so I don't want to send her back but I will if I confirm that she's had a haircut. I can post pics too if that will help anyone determine whether or not she's had a trim.

Could any of you look at your TAF Babies and let me know if uneven hair is just normal for them? My other babies are MIP so I can't really tell.

Thank goodness the seller has a no questions asked full refund policy!

Edit, here are some pictures. I've tried to give multiple views and show how much longer some bits are:

Mine isnt "perfectly" even but I wouldnt say she has a hair cut....if you post pics I can compare to mine and I am sure others can too...

She is gorgeous though isnt she? I wish adult MWay was a peg as well...

Yes she's just lovely! She's one of my favorites. I've added some pictures for easy comparison.

It looks like she might have had a minor trim, but it's hard to tell without comparing her to another one.

Do you have maybe another 1st tooth baby that you can compare to?

You know I would say there has been some sort of trim or breakage. The reason I suggest this is that longer blue set of hairs and the other blue hairs being shorter. Thats really odd.  You wouldn't have that normally.  Maybe one color could be a little off in some way..but you have a very easy to see difference between the blue hair sections.

I took a look at some taf MW's online auctions and I can see that her hair does have a little uneven look but not quite that pronounced. Do a little search and see what you think.

I'm noticing that some of the uneven-ness is normal, and another thought popped into my head because her long hairs seem, well, almost extra long. Is it possible that the bad trim was from the factory, or is that just wishful thinking?

I'm starting to think I might just bring her along to my next haircut so my hair stylist can fix her. Without those long hairs, the trim would be invisible. I don't have cutting shears or enough skill to trust myself to do it.
