Post by: Astralwing on February 29, 2012, 02:17:55 PM

Any help would be appreciated.
(not sure if the image is working, this is the first time I've used Photobucket and I have a poor internet connection)

Do you know how to make it work, then?

Depends what the problem is...On photobucket, there should be a code to copy...hover over the image you want and a few options should appear...click in the box for IMG code and it should copy it and you can just paste it here.

Yes, it works now! As for the ID...ironically, I asked about a similar one in pink, but that was right before the move to the new Arena, so  no one ever responded...I'm curious too now.

I posted about one just like that a while back, before the move. I believe it was ID'd as a Magic Pony baby, made by Ja-Ru? I can't remember for sure, though, sorry.

I looked up what you had said and actually found a picture of a bunch of fakies and my pony was one of them!

Haven't found anything but that, though.

There's a fakie forum run by a member here...  *looks around*

GH is right, it's a JaRu pony. I found a pic of it over at the fakie forum. The forum's called called My Little Imposter Pony. :)

I thought that despite the similarities, JaRu's are their own individual line. I do know that Remco have "fakies of their fakies", but I thought they are usually unmarked. I'm pretty sure I have one. I'm not a fakie expert tho, so someone might be able to answer better than I could!

Lol - that's from my pony site. They're my fakies. :) They are fakes of another fake called Remcos. These fake fakies are smaller and sometimes made by JaRu but other companies have used the molds. They also sold them in two packs at Walmart years ago for 88 cents! Crazy.

Remcos are always marked with their name. These guys are JaRu, but there is also another unknown brand of made in China fakie of Remco ponies. So there are Remco fakies to the third degree. The unknown brand has hair that practically rots out of the head in time. Easy to tell unknown from JaRu because unknown has painted hoofs like Remco but JaRu doesn't.

Hmm...is this fakie's hair made of different stuff that real ponies? I tried to defrizz it using the same methods I had done with my real ponies and the hair melted off  :( Is it the hair, or did I accidentaly set the hair iron too hot?
Also, is there a good way to clean her body? She looks awfully dingy even though I've scrubbed her with antibacterial soap.

I think they're made of much softer and less stable plastic. I wouldn't use any heat on them. You can try a magic eraser on them, but they aren't made well to begin with and some of the dinginess might just be from the plastic having dirt in it before it was even poured into the mold. Seriously, JaRu stuff comes out of the package looking pretty rough.

Hm...It'll be a challenge to make her look nice again, then! Is there anything I could do to make her look better?
