Title: Slugger! Y U so expensive and hard to find? D:
Post by: Kaeldre on February 27, 2012, 07:28:23 PM: Slugger is one of the two BB's I need to complete my set. He's also the one I'm having the hardest time tracking down. And I thought Chief was hard to find! >< And when I do find him, he's either in deplorable condition, really expensive, or both!

So I have to ask. Is he really HTF or sought after?

Really? I've been seeing him for $40-$50 on eBay and on here from time to time. And that's without accessories!

I thought so, too but I wasn't sure if that was normal for him or not.

The 20-25 for him in gorgeous condition would be perfect - in the current market and without his accessories he shouldnt be higher!

I think that's how much I got mine for. I think that while he's not rare, he is uncommon and those ponies tend to fluctuate on how often they pop up...

If you're looking for a deal you usually have to a) look for a long time and b) be willing to do some serious pony cleaning....also more boys seem to be getting cancer and more collectors seem to be shying away from it so that drives prices up for the really good condition ones
keep in mind that when buying/selling with collectors that BAIT boys sell for $8-15 so nice condition boys will sell for more than that ;)

Though I did see a couple Sluggers on eBay recently, and one of them had all his accessories. He didn't sell for anything about $25 (maybe $18? Can't remember, but I know it wasn't more than $25, since I had him on my watchlist).

I think there may just be a Slugger drought at the moment, but there will probably be some up for sale soon. Just keep an eye out!

Whew! After seeing all the people who have Sluggers for sale and the eBay auctions others have linked me to, I don't think I'm going to have a problem getting my paws on one. I don't think I was looking hard enough for him. ^^'
