I've always struggled to figure out what kind of hair I have, so i thought I'd ask the internets =P
My mother always called it dishwater blonde, but I resented the idea of dishwater in my hair. My sister thinks I'm a light strawberry blonde, and I have no idea lol. But when I pick through my hair, I can find occasional strands that are so bright red as to look almost like copper wire. Also, my great-grandmother had very red hair, though I've always thought of myself as a mousy-blah (my little kid word for something between blonde and brown, which is how it usually looks out of the light).
Here's a pic of my hair in various different lights. As you can see, the shade varies a lot =S

Everyone always called my hair dishwater blonde as well. *sigh* Been dying it many non-blonde colors for years. Going back to blonde very soon.... Scary!

Sorry for this vote, but definately not strawberry, that is quite red. Dishwater blonde would be my vote, but its light enough you could get away with sandy blonde as a description.

I got "mouse brown" lol....now I am dark red thats much better!
On topic...I think I would go with sandy blonde maybe?

I wanted to write ash blonde but then I realised ash blonde is less vibrant in the sunlight

I think you're a blonde, probably a H range. Explanation via wiki:
Blond or blonde (see below) or fair-hair is a hair color characterized by low levels of the dark pigment eumelanin. The resultant visible hue depends on various factors, but always has some sort of yellowish color. The color can be from the very pale blond (caused by a patchy, scarce distribution of pigment) to reddish "strawberry" blond colors or golden-brownish ("sandy") blond colors (the latter with more eumelanin). On the Fischer–Saller scale blond color ranges from A to J (blond brown).[1]

You could always go to a salon store and compare your hair to the little dyed hair pieces in front of the dye!

I vote for strawberry blonde. I have dirty/dishwater blonde hair so I totally understand the frustration. :P
