Title: Bronzing MLP stuff ?
Post by: SheRa-dude on February 23, 2012, 03:50:12 PM
Apart from MLP, I collect antique looking home decoration. The other day, I was thinking how people bronze the baby shoes of their kids... So I got the idea to bronze my favorite MLP item from when I was a kid :  the baby buggy.

Apart from spray painting it, I have no idea how to go about to it to give it the genuine vintage bronze look...

Has anyone tried this before? Or maybe you have ideas on how to do it?

I'll definitely try it and post pics. It's been on my mind for a long time :)
Still not sure whether to add sculpted ruffles, or leave the fabric ones and try to bronze those.

Isn't there a customizer who has bronzed ponies?  I can't remember who it is though     That's a cool idea!

I use Jaquard pigments to pearlize, it's a loose powdered pigment that can cover a lot of area and you can control the coverage. You can usually get them at Hobby Lobby or Michaels. then I usually spray a sealent on the item. It has always worked great for me!
