She was in a bag of G1s I found at Goodwill this afternoon. I knew she was discolored. But when I saw what she SHOULD look like (http://www.ponylandpress.com/us/babypeek.shtml#sweetstuff (http://www.ponylandpress.com/us/babypeek.shtml#sweetstuff)) I'm flabbergasted!
Granted... the Pillowtalk, Baby Moondancer (which you can just barely see in the sink behind her) were pretty discolored too (Pillowtalk is all but GREY, rather than lavender... >_< ) But DANG! This girl looks like Milk Chocolate, that's just starting to go "stale/bad"... Not anything NEAR the pink she should be...
What on earth could have caused such discoloration?? :whoa:
-
Oh my goodness! She looks like she was in a fire!
-
 She does look like a burn victim... :whoa:
-
Poor thing, she does look like she was in a fire. . . or badly sunburned, at the very least.
-
I kind of like this color on her. It reminds me of a gingerbread man!
-
upsetting dragons is dangerous and should be avoided.
-

That was my first thought too, she looks like she survived a house fire! Although if she did, the odor of smoke would be really bad. So my second guess is some kind of really weird sun or chemical damage.
-
I was thinking maybe a fire too? Or in storage where the temperature got very hot during the summer? I'm really not sure. Poor girl, glad you rescued her :)
-
Auch. That doesn't look pretty. Hope you can restore her so she looks all cute again!
-
ugh! O.o poor thing, I bet she's FULL of mold, and/or been around a lot of smoke; cigarette smoke will discolor ponies giving them a brownish tinge...

Yes! I like it it too! ginger-breadish, or a mocha color.

Does she smell bad? Poor thing..
If she was in a fire I think her hair would probably be ruined though.
-
Looks to me like the poor thing has a horrible sunburn. I think Relcelestia or somebody else posted a pic of a sunfaded pony who turned that exact same color.

Well... I AM in Arizona... so that is a VERY distinct possibility... If there was an attic out here... and she was stored in it for a long time... I'm sure the wonderful summer heat could have "charred" her... O.o Scary!!!
As for smell... I haven't put my nose right up to her... but none of these ponies smells enough for me to have noticed it while I was cleaning them... *shrug*
-
Wow!! I hope you can clean her up!

Oh, if she had been through a fire, you wouldn't even need to hold her up to your nose - she'd reek from 5 feet away :P
-
Awwww poor pony!!!!!
-
I wonder if sun fading would help return her to her original color...or at least something closer?
-
I second the mold idea... maybe she's literally filled with mold... other than that, smoke discoloration? I don't know but she looks horrid! Poor girl.
-
If she were in a fire I'd think her hair wouldn't look as good as it does. So, I don't know what happened.
-
Oh noooo, it looks like she has/had a serious case of mold at one time. I had a bowtie that happened to and it was so sad :C

On second thought, it might be a bad case of mold - though that's still an awful lot of discoloring for mold. Have you popped her head off yet?
-
 OMG, poor thing! I would be scared to look inside that one!
-
Looks like she has dirt inside of her! Maybe some kid left her in the sand box?
-
Wow...someone over did the fake bake!!!
-

HOLY COW!!!!! I wonder if that's fixable?!
 @ hathorcat

looks like she was coloured with a pencil xD
Poor pony!
-
I have several ponies that are kind of like that, once I opened them up their entire insides were BLACK. And it looks like something burned them from the inside, but, like yours, their hair is fine! I don't know what caused it but I haven't had the motivation to thoroughly start cleaning them. I'll bet you anything when you open her up she'll look the same as my handful.
-
I think she has a bad sunburn too, poor pony!!!
-
Poor gal, I'd guess lotsa trips into the bath and TONS of finger paint!
-
EEEEK! Best of luck restoring her. :)
-
she looks like the pony I got years ago when my house burned down. so I guess it is caused by smoke. after 5 years the smell of it went away (my poor posey :/).
also you can try to clean her with disinfectant alcohol. try on the back if it gets off. it doesn't whipe off cutey marks so pretty safe to use, but you do need to wash it with soap afterwards. ;)

And THIS is why you should never fall asleep in a tanning bed.

rofl XD

Wow. That is incredible. I wonder if trying to bleach her in peroxide would help?

Wh-what.
Poor thing... Is there anything you could do?
-
Reminds me of some ponies I have who have discoloration inside and out and no mold or anything on the inside. But my baby firefly is discolored blue, not brown. Still, it could be a chemical reaction. Old nintendos used to turn yellow when their fire resistent chemical leaked out.
-
Crikey that's a need for Factor 50 if ever I saw one. Poor pony. Hope you can get her restored.
