Title: Your biggest splurge..
Post by: DaffyDilly on February 21, 2012, 12:44:16 PM: I'm curious - what item in your pony collection cost the most? You don't have to share how much it was unless you want to but feel free to include pictures. ;)

One of those "I have got to have this" moments where I put her in my favourites and if she was still available when I had the funds then it was meant to be, but I caved and asked whether LoveLauraLand would take split payments and she is now mine.

1. Ladybird....I bought her about 4 years ago...she is probably my most for a pony

2. Baby Diamonds Necklace or Baby Licorice's barrette - both about $100 each!!!!

And the best part...I dont regret any of them!

Also my Argies... Those are pretty pricy as well but worth it for me. :D
...And a G4 baby Star Dreams that I bought from Snow for a little over $30 in Euros simply because I wanted her and was impatient. Definitely overpaid but I adore her so it doesn't bother me in the least. XD

That said, I really like getting the G4 international bonus ponies MIB, and I'm not opposed to paying dearly for it. XD

I think the most I spent at once was around $160, hand-picking ponies from a private collection, and I got some real goodies too ;)

I'll spend more than usual to get a really nice one." Not mint, but nice enough for me. According to her description, she had a bit of frizziness in the tail but was otherwise more or less fine. She arrives and has a fair amount tail rust :/ I also figured she'd be cleaner than she was. I mentioned this to the seller and recieved a small refund.

I gave her a good cleaning (the dirt camoflaged a purple stain O_o) and de-frizzed her hair. She's awsome now.

Ha ha! Yes, we haven't really chatted much yet, but I've read your posts; I know what you like. :) Did you get that Argie Christmas pony? Actually, I was looking at closed auctions, and I saw that ANOTHER one had been listed and sold a few days later! Unfortunately, I didn't spot that one in time.

I'm surprised your biggest splurge was for a Brazil, though. Do you still have her?

yes i did get the christmas pony!!!! ^_^ so happy!! shes currently sunfading and will have a go under the flat iron too ;)
and no i dont have bowtie anymore... only argies... and a couple G4s now :)

The price was a little lower than what they normally go for, but it still cost me more as a single pony purchase. I have another pony I'm working on buying at the moment that will top her.

I probably wouldn't have gotten her at all if it weren't for that factory error in her eye...but what some collectors see as a flaw, I see as a mark of her hidden superpower to control the weather. I was able to get her for just under $250.

So... £80 for an Ice Crystal in ~sort of mint condition. He has a scratch on one of his legs, but that's fine, all my Mountain Boys are a bit battered, but I never spend over £15 each for the rest!

My biggest splurge is G3 Rosey Posey with her card. I am NOT saying how much I spent, b/c it was excessive (in fact, of actual stated prices paid so far on this thread, I paid more). She is the only pony OR playset I spent over $100 on. But she is and was so worth it. I do love her.
