Probably never, if they get their cutie marks then they won't be doing crazy weird things to learn lessons about and their purpose would disappear. :P
Although, it'd be cool if they got them. I think a good episode would come out of one getting her cutie mark and the other two being jealous, with the lesson being that some people have more than you but that doesn't mean you should be mean or something. :D

I would love their Cutie Mark appearances to be something that spans an entire season. I feel like they'll get their marks all at once, but would really rather see them get their marks one at a time. It would add some great opportunities for lessons about jealousy.

My guess would be the last episode ever of FiM.
Though I do agree it would be interesting if one of them got her cutie mark earlier than the other two. :)

If any of them were to get their cutie marks the likely candidates would be Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo since their G3 selves already do.
However chances are they won't ever get them.

I kinda wonder if they ever do get them if Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo's will be the same symbol as the g3s. :hmm:

For example Sweetie Belle Can sing really really well, so maybe her symbol would be a singing bell?

I think if they do get them in the course of the series, they would all get them at the same time but not know the others also got theirs. Then they would go through the episode trying to hide their cutie marks from the others because they are afraid they would no longer be able to be part of the CMC.

Keep in mind that it can be very dangerous, from a marketing point of view, for a show to change their character designs. They have to be careful of backlash from their viewers. A lot of time, people don't really like or want the characters to change.
When Nickalodeon and Mattel announced that Dora the Explorer would 'grow up' and have an older version toy line, there was a major backlash in the community. People were up in arms saying she was too 'girly' now that she was wearing a dress instead of shorts, and that her new look was ruining her point and her message to young children.
Of course, cutie marks aren't quite that drastic a change, lol. I'm just pointing out there is a good reason cartoon shows rarely do character design changes, no matter how many years have actually passed since the introduction of the show.

I would like them to gain their cutie marks too....can't help but wonder if Apple Bloom will have something apple related like the rest of her family. I just don't see it happening.

I really don't know if they will get their cutie marks. I hope they will get them but i don't really think they will.
On the other hand , we now have had some episodes about the CMC that weren't about them trying to get their cutie marks. So there is no real need for them to stay blank flanks. They can still do plenty of other things togheter.
I also don't think they will get their G3 cutie marks. Scootaloo would get a butterfly cutie mark and we already have Fluttershy.

I hope that they'd be given their cutie mark before the time comes for Hasbro to reboot the series (which I believe it will happen, but not in another 6 or so years).

I don't think a butterfly would fit G4 Scootaloo's personality too well either. She's definitely not as gentle as a butterfly.

yup! it was a fun episode though! maybe someday we'll get to see them. I wonder if there are ponies who never get their cutie marks, even in adulthood.

Yeah, but G3 Scootaloo was also the "active / Sportive" one of the group.
Basic personality wise she didn't change a whole lot.

I think Sweetiebelle will have something music related, Applebloom will have something (dur) apple related, (probably something related to cultivating flowers), and scootaloo will be something relating to scooter...ing...So like, an actual scooter or a helmet or something. They can't be the cutie mark crusaders forever, because as any parent knows, all kids have to grow up someday. :3

Well, we know Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle's would probably be relatively close in design to their G3/3.5 versions. And Applebloom's will have something to do with apples, so at least it's not a complete mystery. XD As for when they'll get them, probably in the final season at some point.

Applebloom: Since she is good at sewing and create stuff , an Apple and an applebloom "stitched" on

Scootaloo: A butterfly with a bolt under ( I really think Scootaloo will be a great flier someday)
