I just got a TE sweet stuff from the thrift store and I was wondering If I should bait her. Her condition is as follows:
5 Medium-sized cancer spots, 3 on DS, 2 on NDS.
The coating on her jewel eyes is completely rubbed off.
She has SUPER GLUE on her DS cheek blush, and some on her NDS symbol.
Her tail is gone.
Mane uncut, lost factory curl.
Do you think I should bait her?
*EDIT* I just discovered that one gumdrop on her NDS symbol is rubbed.

Pics would help if you have them :)
-
My camera broke this morning :(
-
hummm well you could restore her but it sounds like she would be a lot of work might be better to just bait
-
I've done everything in my power to restore her, and i'm sorry to say I can't do anything, as super glues' only weakness is acetone.
-
It's hard to say without pics. :C If you feel you can't restore her, then you might as well go for it.
-
Yeah, i'll probably just bait.
-
That would depend on who is the TE, if is Bright eyes, Sweet pop, Mimic, Quackers, Tic-tac-toe or Locket then I would say no, they are more HTF than the others TE and you can can find a buyer for her.
-
I think you should bait her... TE are hard to come by as baits and i know i would absolutely LOVE to see a TE custom... <3
-
@Sapphire-Light, i'ts sweet stuff. FYI.
-
I´ll just say one thing, cancer is to Sweet Stuff what regrind is to Cloud Puff - it's so common that you might as well just disregard it. If we baited every Sweet Stuff with cancer, there'd be nothing left :P I also think the eye-coating shouldn't be a baiting issue.
Everything else however, well, dunno to be honest :( Tail can be replaced, but then again, that's not far from customising anyway. And the glue, depends how bad it is, I have a Gusty with some glue on her face and I don't mind it, but if it looks ugly the only option is to try to get it off.
Still, i´ll vote no as I am strongly against customising G1s that at least have some redeeming features :) but i would completely understand if you did bait her ^^

I agree with almost everything here, except for the tail issue. I don't see that as being very close to customizing, especially if you can find a donor tail! Then it would be like 99% original. =P

Is the light pink hair in her mane still light pink? If it is, I definitely would NOT bait her. I am leaning towards "do not bait" overall. Rubbed off eye coating isn't a sign of baitability . . . That happens to TEs quite often and they don't really look any worse without it. And tails can be replaced with DollyHair.
-
No, the light pink in her hair is NOT light pink anymore. and the glue on her is VERY noticeable, and if I got it off, i'd have to take her paint off too... and, plus Dollyhair hair is a different texture than G1 hair, and i'm too young to buy/sell on here...
-
You could at least TRY to restore her, but it would be difficult. Personally, I'd bait her.
-
Believe me, I HAVE tried to restore her, but I can't.
-
I would say try to restore her. If that fails, bait her!
-
No G1 is bait unless they are missing limbs! :(

No G1 is bait unless they are missing limbs! :(
This is exactly what I was thinking. :)
But she is yours to do with as you wish.
-
Sounds like she is a bait. I don't think that you will find someone who will pay for the pony to restore it.
-
Can you trade her or sell her to someone opposed to baiting? I don't work with TE ponies, but I'm sure a lot of people here would be willing to take on restoring her. I'm ok either way with what you do, she is your pony and you need to feel good about her.
-
I would maybe see if someone else would be interested in restoring her. Just ask a small price and shipping, you may have someone who is interested in taking her in and fixing her up. I would love to but I haven't got a clue what to do seeing as I have never restored before. Some people don't mind flaws in ponies if they can get them fixed up a little :)
-
pictures would help us make a better judgement, but i'd say she'd be more suitable for a restore project rather than a bait.
-
i'm torn on this. i say bait her if you have a really good idea for her, otherwise restore her.
-
Can I suggest asking for a bait-trade with her? =)
Unfortunately Sweet Stuff is really prone to cancer (have 3, and all have it), the eye coating is also not a big issue for me to consider as bait, nor the glue or missing tail (but maybe I'm just not a really picky collector). And also, without pics is not that easy to know her condition (I can picture, but sometimes it can sound way worse/smaller that what really is).
But as others have said, in the end, it is your pony to do with her what you want. And also, I don't remember seeing a TE custom before =P
