Title: UK Kitchen Set
Post by: Babushka on January 29, 2012, 04:51:26 PM
The UK G1 Kitchen set is my grail (along with the cookery ponies), so please help me with my fix!

Could I see some lovely photographs?  :good:

Also, how much is that set going for?

I think the set goes for around $30 but I could be mistaken.

It's a great set! I'd love to see photos too.

Yes I agree :)

Unfortunately I don't have that set! Hopefully someone has some pics to show you :)

Here is a pic of mine - I bought it probably ten years ago and can't remember for the life of me how much I paid for it. The problem is not so much finding a kitchen playset - it's finding one with ALL it's parts! I have been fortunate enough to track down all the missing parts (not pictured here) so my set will now be complete. I'm just looking for an upgrade for a new door (also not pictured here). A HUGE THANKS to RedKimber for selling me my missing pieces and for letting me pay them off! If anyone has a spare kitchen door, please shout  ;)

Babushka - I can understand why this is one of your grails. I absolutely love this particular playset.

It's worth way more than $30.  I paid $100 for mine which was complete and mint as can be with it's box.  That was probably a bit too much but when you consider that each cookie cutter sells for about $5 each, it's easily one of the most expensive playsets.  They don't come up too often and I know some people get a good deal on them now and then but if you want it complete and mint, you are probably looking at the $60 mark if not higher.

The Kitchen was one of my favourite playsets when I was little :) I managed to replace my childhood one and thankfully it's almost complete... all I'm missing is the PIE!

I bought mine with box (missing one cutter which I later picked up for £1.50) for £7 ish last year. It's more common on Ebay UK but I can imagine that shipping out of Europe would be quite a bit.

Love it to bits. I'd take a photo for you but I'm afraid that it's on top of the wardrobe at the moment.

Oh nuts. I *had* all those accessories, I may actually still have some of them? I had the bowls, plates, muffins, pie and various bits like the tongs and cutters! I really hope I haven't sold them on!

I love that set, and the cookery ponies. The value wavers massively because it appears so rarely, but it isn't a 'rare' set? Does that make sense? So if you really want the star cutter and the only one is $5 on eBay then that's the value, rather than finding one at Ponycon for ~50p etc.

I just hope that when it pops up on Ebay that I have the money for it!

If you search on ebay UK I would say a couple pop up every month or so - the problem is getting one as close to complete as possible because other wise finding all the teeny tiny accessories can be a pain! I think I have had 3 over the years and the last one sold for a little under £10 and it was only missing the oven tray! Its a well priced playset for most of the time and because its not too big shipping isnt too much of a killer!

I purchased mine MIB a few years back as I wanted it complete. Unfortunately the oven tray was missing even though it had never been opened!

They didnt all come with an oven tray...there are a couple of versions - one with the tray and one without - thats why the oven tray is one of the more difficult parts to find and why the blue/green trays are also designed to fit in the oven.
