That's right, BLIND! For real. I went to my walmart to purchase you know. Food. And in my unsupervised wanderings, I made it to the toy aisle where I located blind bags. So I busted out the ol smart phone and tried to decipher the myriad of numbers on the bottom of the bags. I found that each of the bags DID have a one or two digit number printed on that little fold that actually coralated to the numbers given on the cheat sheet. There were other longer numbers printed on the bags, but none of them in any sequence did anything to help identify the figure. (They were six digit sequences) I figured thusly that the numbers on the folds of the bag must be the right ones.
Fast forward into my car: I open th first one Hey...that's no match....Second. No dice. Third what.... fourth...Ok. Not a coincidence now.
So my theory is this: thanks to everyone posting on the internet on how the blind bags aren't SO BLIND, Hasbro decided to MAKE them blind. Super duper work, internet. You broke the blind bag system by ADVERTISING IT. Good job. :thumb:
Has anyone else had this experience so far or did I just get *REALLY* unlucky?

odd I got 2/3 right by checking that little fold on the package..

I got all of mine right by checking the fold on the bag :P
it's up at the top by the hole.. embossed in the bag, and I managed to get a set of 24, so odds are I woulda gotten them all anyways.

I don't think Hasbro would change around the numbering system just because a handful of people on the internet figured out which numbers correspond with which ponies...Especially since, from the sound of things, the blind bags are selling out anyway. If people are going to buy them all anyway, why should Hasbro care if a few people know which ones they're buying? And even if that were the case, I don't think it would be fair to blame the internet...after all, you were trying to use that information too :P Hopefully your mismatched box was just a random mistake :(

Hey, maybe you got the waves mixed up? Maybe you were looking up the numbers for a different wave of blind bags? I think there have been 3 so far.

Either I missed it or that would have been a fantastic piece of information to have on the cheat sheet. I went back and looked back at the bags and there the damn numbers were, plain as day. Don't I look like a dang :muffin: Pony hoof? :redface:
And Gazzy I don't think that's possible,anyway isn't there only one wave in america so far?

I really hope they didn't actually make them blind, since I only want like 4 of them from each wave :/

I haven't gotten the ones from walmart... but when I got them from jc penney outlet they were all correct.
I ALSO, kept squishing the bag to death, and tried to peak at the color, thru the tiny little air hole.

all 3 of the ones i got had the right pony in them, #9 for minty, #24 for the glittery rainbow dash, and #16 for lemon hearts.
i wonder why your's aren't the right ponies?

LOL, don't feel so bad. When I first found them, I thought the numbers were printed backwards (to help make it harder to read). So there I was squinting at each number trying to decipher it. Then my husband goes to buy me more. I warned him about the backwards numbers. "Uhh, dear, if you turn the flap over, the numbers aren't backwards." Boy did I feel like a idiot! :P

At least you have found them. I have yet to see a blind bag. Someday I will have them. (Patiently waiting)

THAT SAME THING Happened to me Bunny! Don't feel bad at ALL. Not only are there LOTS of other numbers on there, there's also some oriental characters!! I was SOOOO confused!
I grabbed a fist full of blind bags, (like I thought someone was going to buy them all, LOL), and went over to the in-store pharmacy where I could sit down and "figure this out"! i Poured over the numbers and still was confused, so I called my wife (still sitting at the pharmacy) and we FINALLY figured it out.
So yeah, this TOTALLY happened to me too!

It took me a while to figure out where exactly the number was. Initially I started looking at the bottom of the bag but then figured out it's on the flap where the bag closes :) After I figured that out I got them all right, no surprises even if some were abit hard to read.
I wonder what went wrong for you :O maybe the key you were looking at was wrong?

It took me a minute to figure it out! Those numbers are so tiny, and hard to see on that shiny packaging. :P I had to go sit in pharmacy and figure it out too! All I wanted was Minty and Rose Luck! Finally broke the code and got my ponies tho! XD

The worst thing i that I didn't even go sit anywhere, I just stood there in the pony aisle, smartphone battery DYING (with no car charger, since i was driving my hub's car) trying to figure this thing out. I had more than one person walk by me with a "WTF is she DOING?" look on their face. So, can you buy these things at Toys R Us too? Just the little singles bags?

I did the same thing at first too! D: I was telling my dad that they can be identified after he told me he would not find any differences between the bags. Then I sat there for a few minutes staring over my bags trying to find the numbers before I had to search how to find it again. I felt so silly.

And as far as I have heard they are only available at WalMart right now, but they might show up at Toys R Us eventually.

weird. I have most of them and they have all matched to their bag numbers.

All of mine matched too. It took me a minute to realize what number I was looking for, but once I found it, I was 11/11.

I was completely confused at first too... I thought, Oh NO! They've quit numbering them! But then I found it. haha!

Well, if anyone in the contiguous USA finds them and wants to have a guaranteed buyer,I will buy any extra pegasus or earth ponies you find. I want to customize them (once I have them all :X) And also, does ANYONE want Cherry Spice? I got her and really...think she looks...poopy....(sorry ^^; ) I'll trade her for *ANY* earth or peg :P

Yes, but guides for the other international waves have already been posted online, so if an American buyer doesn't know there were more, then they may pick a random guide and try to apply it to wave 1.

The ones I managed to get have all been correct.. it took me a bit to find the number though because, duh, I was looking in the wrong spots XD

Haha, well I'm glad it was just a mix-up! I just found them at my TRU today and the bags matched the guide :)

That is odd - I only got a couple so far, but the two I opened were not in order, but they matched up correctly on the list Strawberry Reef posted. Minty was #9 and Firecracker Burst was #21.

I make a motion to the mods: Can we put that key up on the top of the corral on a sticky post? Easy and quick to get to when shopping for these little guys. I always have a hard time findind it quickly on my phone v.v;

I have it on my phone. Actually, I wrote down Walmart's item code for it. I dunno if that's what you mean, or the UPC on the bag XD
