Rarity: This will included a Fashion show, a "Find the Gems" game, customizing Fakies to make them prettier and more!
OR
Twilight Sparkle: This will include My Little Pony trivia, making Pony Legends (i.e. "How TEs got their jewel eyes"), Magic/ Mythology themed custom contest and more!

**Update to our lunch menu: A big thank you to my awesome boyfriend, who has decided that hotdogs are not good enough for my friends. :lol: Here's the spread he has come up with:

Yes, I am planning to hold my first California My Little Pony Meet!
When? May 19th, 2012 at Noon!
Events will include: lunch, custom contest, games and, of course, buying/selling!
This is my first meet, so I'm making the announcement now so I can easily prepare for the members who will come. The meet will be starting it 12:00 noon at my house. I will PM everyone who wants to attend with my address and directions as the date gets closer. I do have a few questions to ask those who are considering coming.
Custom Contest: I was originally planning on giving everyone a pony and a bag of random craft supplies to make a "May Flowers" themed custom. Do you like this idea? Or would more people prefer to make their own at home and bring it? Please let me know your thoughts. :blush: Ribbons and prizes will be awarded for the top three.
I will need everyone who is planning to come to fill out the following form and PM it to me, so I kinda have some information.

*Important note: If you are under the age of 18, PLEASE have permission by your parents to attend. The last thing I want is angry parents and upset members. I will assume that if you are attending and are under age, you have permission to be here.

Oh nooo, I just looked up Atwater, too! :( I'm much further south (Los Angeles is the furthest north I usually go, LOL), so San Fran-y areas are wayyyyyyyy out of my range. I'm sorry I won't be able to go, this sounds like an incredibly-fun meetup!! And a custom-making contest on-site?! Sign me up!!

It's a two hour drive for me but I REALLY want to go!
I'm talking to my boyfriend right now about it!
I wanted to go to the one in Florida, but that is wayyyy to far for me.
But Atwater is totally in my range!

Yeah, I know there are lots of people in Southern Cali and it's a bummer you guys won't be able to make it. I will definitely be taking lots of pictures of this. I'm super excited about it. :frolic: I'll also post updates and stuff here for those wanting to come.

I've been wanting to do a CA meet since I joined! Problem is, I won't be home from college until the 20th, so I won't be able to attend... :sad:

This is also a two hour drive for me. I have a car, but my fiance does music gigs so I never know if I'll have access to it. I'm in Berkeley, if I were to Bart somewhere between here and Dublin(?) would I be able to hitch a ride with anyone?

Unfortunately I won't be able to make that drive either. Four hours round trip just takes too much time away from my family (four kids requires much of my time, LOL!).

if you are coming from the bay area, amtrak is pretty reasonable; I go to/from a few times a year, and it's usually around $30 round trip. :) The closest stations would be either Merced, or Turlock-Denair, for anyone thinking about it, and I might be able to give rides from and back to the station in Turlock-Denair. :)

I just checked, and Atwater is 5.5 hours away from me in OC. I would have to get up awfully early in the morning! I'll think about it, and it anyone else is in the OC area and would want to carpool that may help push me over the edge. I'll even drive. I would love to meet other collectors in the area!

At first I thought you lived in Atwater Village in Los Angeles (I live in Glendale) but then I realized the Atwater you are from is more in central California. Darn, and I wanted to attend too, but that is just too far for me to drag my bf (yes, yes... I don't drive--way too scared to get behind the wheel myself). :(

Yep! I would love to go with my sis Zargata! :) Only thing I will need to figure out is a sitter for my two boys. I figure the event may be too crazy to bring them too?? One is 5 and the other is 2. :lol: They do love MLP's!!

Did you decide if we were going to make customs at the event or if we were going to bring our own pre made customs for a custom contest? I'm open to either, and your spring ideas sound fun! :P
Got to start planning!! Also, do we know who will be selling? I will try to bring cash, but do people accept checks?? That would ultimately be easier for me than worrying about cash. :lol:

Sorry! I should've been a little more clear about what was going on. :work:
I will be supplying all the materials for the custom contest. Everyone will have a pony and access to paints and a variety of supplies. The baits all still have hair and eyes, but no symbols. No pre-made customs will be accepted, just to be fair, but if you want to bring your own bait, feel free to. The bait must be a G3 with original hair and eyes and no new paintwork. The contest theme will be a May Flowers/Spring theme.
***Since we will be having kids present, how would a kids only contest sound? This way, if they want to decorate a pony as well, they have a chance at getting a ribbon and a choice of a toy from the prize box. Let me know if they like that idea.
As far as buying/selling goes, I will have some ponies and other things for sale. I will gladly accept checks. I think lunar_scythe might bring some stuff and I believe JoshsPonyPrincess may bring some customs to sell. If anyone plans on selling/ please post here so everyone can know who will have goodies. :P lol
I'm working on getting a schedule down so I can post it up here for everyone to see. Any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask here or PM me. I will be PMing all the attending parties with my address and directions on May 1st.

I'm pretty sure that I'm going. I haven't been to a meet for a few years at least. I'll be bringing some G2s, g3 misc stuff, maybe some g1s and some of my breyers. I have a fold up table I can bring too for my stuff if there isn't space for it otherwise

*grins* I can't wait! I plan on bringing 1 tote of G1's to sell, and pics of some playsets I'd like to sell(Paradise Estate, anyone, or Perm Shoppe?) so if anyone is interested in them, they can swing by my place(about 15 mins north) or I can have my ride bring them when I get picked up. :)
I have some folding tables and camp chairs, too, if you want me to bring them, Jahlila?

And no worries for the non-pony people who will be attending. We have lots of movies and Hulu Plus. We also have the Wii, Xbox, PS2 and my N64. I think it would be awesome if we had a spontaneous Just Dance session. lol And I will be buying some toys for the kiddos to play with in the backyard. :accomplished: Now, off I go to continue organizing my sale stuff. I will have ponies, as well as some Rainbow Brite and She-ra merch. I may also offer art or custom commissions, depending on how comfortable I feel about my work. :blush:
