Title: UKers - The Regent Street Hamleys for G4s?
Post by: babymoondust on January 25, 2012, 02:06:18 PM
Hey all!

I've been working hard lately so I wanted to go somewhere to treat myself to some serious PONY...
I was thinking that the Regent St Hamleys must surely be like a heaven for MLP stuff... but I could be completely wrong. I haven't been there for years, but I remember it being like toy Heaven.

It takes quite a while for me to get to Regent Street from where I am, so I wanted to double check to make sure I don't go there for nothing! Any info on the Hamleys pony situation would be greatly appreciated! ^_^

I haven't been since G4 came out, but during G3 it was always a couple of quid higher than retail for ponies :(

Ouch... good point - I didn't even think of the incredible costlyness that is central London! >.<

Yes...the best answer to Hamleys is expensive! We have a Hamleys in Glasgow - their pony stock is truly terrible - they still had some Wave 1 ponies last time I was in and they were pretty pricey as well - a couple of £ each above what you would spend in Asda or Tesco!

Last time I visited the London branch in November they were actually quite poor (and as others have said - Expensive!) for pony stuff. They were quite behind too if I recall, I was very disappointed :(

Hamley's is overpriced (well it is central London after all) and hasn't had decent My Little Pony stock in years.
I went in before Christmas and they only had a lonely, unpackaged Twilight's balloon (no Twilight Sparkle, someone had clearly stolen her) and some overpriced styling Ponies.

The best places for Pony in the UK right now are the big supermarkets.  :awake:

Wow.. that is crazy-disappointing for Hamley's of all places!

I think I'll go to Tesco or something for my happy pony shop. Having said that.. I have bought two new G4s this week and an Octavia shirt!! >.< I am getting out of control again! Halp!

The last time I've been to Hamley's was in late November. They had a decent number of ponies, but, as others have said before me, they are rather overpriced. If I remember correctly, the singles were 9GBP each. You can easily imagine the rest of the prices. As for displays, they didn't have any G4 display, not even when they were all new. The last time I saw any kind of MLP display was when they had Ponyville, some two years ago.
