Hey any one into electronics. Building things from small components like capacitors resistors or diodes?

Im into audio and programming intigrated circuites

I'm sure there is plenty of interest here.

I built a computer from scratch in middle school, but I don't remember all the steps.  And they've changed so much I probably couldn't do it again lol

Indeed, my little brony! A project I am having at the moment is to change a Hasbrostia (the Pink Celestia) toy into something else. Celestia, Celestia, or maybe Nightmare Moon. Insides away, Freeduino Nano and a SD-card in and off we go. I need to get the card and some other things, but that's a little setback. Should I make a blog of sorts about that?

Also computers & electronics 4 life.

I work as an audio engineer and general maintenance of gear and cables is part of the job. If you're an audio engineer and you're afraid of a soldering iron, you suck at your job.

I'm not really into electronics, but I do it 'cause making and maintaining your own cables, and building microphone preamps from DIY kits is a lot cheaper than buying them premade. I can't make things from scratch, but give me a schematic, a soldering iron, and what I need to build it, and I can usually slap it together.

I took an engineering class in high school, but the teacher was a little flakey so we just did whatever we wanted. And i remember that sodder (?) smells bad, and lingers forever.

A little project. Have a look at http://raejuusto.asuscomm.com/kuvia/poni/projekti/hasbrostia/ (http://raejuusto.asuscomm.com/kuvia/poni/projektit/hasbrostia/).

Basically I'm going to change the voice box inside the pink talking Hasbrostia ("I love my hair <3") to a Freeduino Nano minicomputer. I'm going to be using the SD-card as the mass memory to store the sounds. Maybe even add servo motors to the wings.... For that I'll need some small servos that I can control with the Freeduino. Also I need to fix some screwholes in the torso and program a WAV-player for the Freeduino so I can play the sounds.

Also forgot ponies. :P

Ok now I know what you meen but would it not be cheeper to use regular dcmotors on geears to swing the wings?

Most likely, but that way I'd need to mod the wing movement system too since it only goes from one direction to another, not around. With servos I could control how far the wings would go. But that will have to wait till another time.
