On a small, dozy island located (sometimes) by the coast of Northern England, where nothing of interest happens even on Sundays, the tiniest spark of magic began to flicker.
So begins the story of Amy Synnendor as she explores the phantom island of Amaranth, discovering the many strange things surrounding her; the bleak moors and mysterious forest, the dusty library and a shop selling stars in bottles, tiramisu and the music of Queen, her own magical powers and the charismatic trickster fox that tutors her.
But even the isle of outcasts keeps its secrets well. And the farther Amy delves into the ways of the Other realm, the more she finds that some secrets are best left undiscovered.
First chapter is up! Hopefully I'll actually be, you know, making progress!
