And the Royal Guards are finished, along with the finalized Crest of the Royal Guard!
Finished inks and pencils are on 17 x 14 inch bristol board, with a 15 x 10 inch image area. Colors done, of course, in Photoshop CS3.

The next boy that shall be done? Hmmm... I think Soarin' was up next, followed by Dr. Hooves.

So I've FINALLY broken down.
I'm FINALLY creating MLP: FiM fanart.
HOWEVER... I'm doing this my way, dearies! Everyone and their grandma is doing artwork of the gals of Friendship is Magic.
I will be doing a line of NOTHING but the guys! Why? Because the male ponies just don't seem to get enough love from the FiM fandom.
So, to start things off, I'm going with MY favorite pairing in the series, because it is just too flippin' ADORABLE ( and yes, eventually I WILL be doing an anthro tasteful nude of these boys, again, because I can. That, and it's been a while since I've drawn an anthro pony. ^^; ).
The first of the boys series shall be:
~Big Macintosh x Caramel~
The second of the boys series shall be:
~Braeburn, the AAAAAAAAAPPLoosan~
He's just too fun and adorable, and I love him in the fanfic, "Apple Branches"!

Colors are FINISHED on BOTH
As promised, done in simple flat tones, animation style, and then slapped with random brushes and patterns for the background.
India ink and brush on 11 x 8.5 inch card stock, scanned, enlarged, and colored in Photoshop CS3.
Will be made into 15 x 10 inch prints for BroNYCon January.

And no worries, still working on both commission lists, these two pieces are just quickies for this week. A little break for me.

Or if you wanted to differentiate, then you could use the sun for Celestia and the moon for Luna?

I was thinking something along those lines. Using a moon & sun somehow.
I've seen that episode and that image a couple of times, Zenna, but never realized it formed a yin-yang. :D

Actually, a few of us were talking over on the TP when I did the last edit to this post ( this was when the Arena was still down ), and the use of the the ying yang came up, as did the idea of Celestias' guards' stars and Lunas' guards' blue eye stone, as did the idea of using Celestia and Luna's symbols.
This is the idea that we've kind of come up with that I'm going to sketch up and play with:
Hm! Actually, I really like the idea of the moon over lapping the sun! But instead of the full moon, using Luna's waxing crescent, theeeennn... maybe crisscross a pair of unicorn horns above them, kind of like crossed swords, and an extended feathered peg wing on the lower right and an extended bat-style peg wing on the lower left?
The crisscrossed unicorn horns could represent the unicorn guards, the peg wings obviously the pegasi guards. Maybe a horse shoe between the peg wing bases to represent the earth pony guards? And of course, some kind of stars to represent ranking, or the number of Elements of Harmony?
I so need to sketch this all out tomorrow before work. XP

Think I should do a separate Big Mac piece, though? I noticed that the majority of the male fans at BroNYCon really steered clear of the Bic Mac x Caramel piece ( yet they all went bonkers for the gal on gal pairings for sale there! Figures! XP ), but they love Big Mac himself. Wondering if having JUST a pic with Big Mac being all... well, himself... would get them to buy a print with him on it.
I'm determined to stick with doing pieces based off of JUST the guys in the show, this gal WILL stick to that ruling! RAR!

Updated quickly with a SUPER messy rough idea sketch for the Crest of the Royal Guards. Will add it to the main sketch with the actual guards after finalizing, editing, and cleaning up the design.
