International shipping deadline Thursday, February 2nd
US/same country shipping deadline Wednesday, February 8th
This will be a fast swap, please DO NOT apply to join if you are not prepared to start shopping right away or you think you will be late on shipping. International are encouraged to ship as soon as possible. If you have a difficult wantlist or are extremely picky about condition this is probably not the swap to join as there will not be a lot of time for others to hunt down difficult or mint ponies.
This swap will have two levels, $10 or $20 (remember, shipping is extra!)
• First time swappers and swappers with less than 10 feedbacks are welcome to apply for the $10 level.
• If you have 10 or more feedbacks you are welcome to join the $20 level.
• Feedbacks must be from SELLING or TRADING, buying doesn't count.
For International purposes the $10 swap should be approximately equal to the value of 2 MIB G3 ponies, the $20 swap equal to 4 G3/G4.
PLEASE READ:
If money is tight for you please DO NOT apply to be in this swap. $10 may not sound like much but you need to be prepared to spend 2-3 times that amount by the time you factor in shipping the ponies to you, buying extras, wrapping and then shipping out the finished box to your partner. Same with the $20 level, you will be spending up to 2-3 times that amount.
SWAP INFO:
The Valentine's Swap will be focused on ponies! Please spend your full swap amount on ponies from your swappers wantlist. This is NOT a random swap so ponies MUST be from your partners list and they MUST be in very good condition unless your swapper is requesting baits or is not picky. The only extras that are suggested are to include a small selection of candy based on your swappers tastes (included on the wantlist form) and a Valentine's card with your name so that they know who the gifts are from. Please wrap your swappers gifts according to the holiday. Any other extras you include are up to you.

SWAPPING GUIDELINES
WHAT TIME AND COSTS ARE INVOLVED WITH A SWAP?
When you join a swap with a certain cost level please understand that that value is for PONIES ONLY! The extras (like candy) will cost above and beyond the value of your swap and shipping cost will be extra also. You can expect to spend 2 to 3 times the amount that you sign up for so please be prepared and don't sign up if money is tight.
HOW DOES A SWAP WORK?
When you join a swap you will submit a wantlist of ponies that you would like to receive as well as some extra information about things like your favorite type of candy. Once all swappers have submitted their wantlists the swap organizer will then assign you a swap partner. In most cases you will not be sending to the same person who is sending to you. Your identity is kept secret until your swap gift is received so don't contact your swapper or post who you are sending to on the forums. You will shop for that person and make them up a special package based on their wantlist and the information they provide about the extra goodies.
YOUR WANTLIST
When making up your wantlist please only include ponies that are at or under the value of the swap level that you joined. For G3 ponies please include MIB or loose so your partner knows which to send. While you are taking part in a swap it's a good idea to not buy ponies for yourself which you included on your wantlist. You may end up with doubles as your swap partner might be buying them for you as well!
GOING SHOPPING FOR YOUR SWAP
Once you have the information about your swap partner it's time to shop. The ponies that you buy should reflect the value of your swap level. If you are buying G3 ponies at the store be sure to check for factory flaws as well as you can through the packaging. If you are buying G1 ponies from Arena members or from eBay be sure to ask for extra pictures and detailed descriptions so that you can be sure you are getting very good condition ponies. Ask about haircuts, tail rust, non-removable marks, pindot mold, cancer, etc. Get the best condition ponies that you can, you are going for very good condition to near mint unless your swapper lists something to the contrary like wanting bait ponies or So Softs for deflocking. If you are having trouble finding ponies on your swapper's list please PM the swap organizer for help!
THE EXTRA CANDY AND GOODIES
The extra items and fun stuff that you include with your gift is above the cost of your swap level. These need not be expensive but please include a few small items and candy with your pony gifts. Stores like Dollar Tree or similar that offer items at $1 or 99 cents are a great place to look for extras. Please try to get extras that go along with what your swapper likes. If all else fails though please include extras that correspond to the holiday the swap is geared for.
WASHING PONIES
We all love to send nice clean ponies as our gifts but sometimes we don't have enough time between receiving a pony and the deadline of the swap. If get a pony at the last minute please do not try to wash it as it may not get totally dry by the time you box it up to ship. Your swapper would rather receive a pony who is not perfectly cleaned or styled than one that has developed a case of tailrust while in the mail (it has happened before). Please do not wash any ponies unless you have at least 24-48 hours for them to air dry. The best way to do this is to either sit the pony in a glass with the tail hole down and the tail curled inside the glass or prop them butt down on a small towel so that any water that might be inside them can drain through their tail hole and be absorbed by the towel.
WRAPPING AND SHIPPING
When you wrap your swap ponies do not use any colored tissue directly touching the ponies as the color can transfer. Putting each pony in a small plastic baggy is a good solution and then you can use any color of wrapping or to wrap them in plain white tissue beforehand. When you pack your gifts for shipping please use a sturdy box so that nothing gets damaged in the mail. NO BUBBLE MAILERS! In the US the post office does offer flat rate boxes in a few sizes which is a good choice if your box is fairly heavy.
BEFORE YOUR SHIP YOUR GIFTS
If you have a camera or camera phone available please take a photo of your wrapped goodies and post a teaser photo in this thread. We wanna drool on your pretty wrapped gifts!
When you package your gifts be sure to include a card or note with your screen name on it. It's also a good idea to include a 3x5 card with both addresses on it just in case something were to happen to the outside of the box.
SHIPPING DEADLINE
Please box up your packages carefully, this is a gift and should be treated as such. Please use extra padding so that the gifts will be secure inside the box and won't be tossed around in shipping.
When you ship your package please PM the swap organizer to let them know.
Please do your best to ship out your package on or before the set deadline. If you are still waiting for ponies to arrive please contact the swap organizer before the deadline arrives to let them know that you will be a little late. Once you do ship your package please PM so that we can contact your swapper and let them know its on the way.
AFTER YOU RECEIVE YOUR GIFTS
If you have a camera available please take some photos and post your pictures in the Brag section. If you are the first person to receive their gifts please start a brag thread for the swap, otherwise add yours to the one that is already started.
If you are not happy with your gifts in any way please do not post it on the forums. Contact the swap organizer right away so that they can deal with it.
LEAVING FEEDBACK
Once you have received your swap gift please leave a feedback for your partner that sent you the gift. Include which swap it was from so that other people will know that they have participated in swaps before. If you have issues with your swap presents please contact the swap organizer before leaving feedback or posting about it on the forums. Issues need to be dealt with through PM and the swap organizer will handle that and keep you posted.
If at any time during the swap something happens that will prevent you from being able to fulfill the obligation to your swapper you need to PM your swap organizer IMMEDIATELY.

I am so upset. I was staying with my mother for the past month and just arrived home. I had all of my stuff shipped to me, and I just picked up the boxes tonight. The brand new boxes I used were completely destroyed and everything I bought so far for my partner is MISSING.
I want to cry. :sad:
Not to mention I found random things in my box that don't even belong to me. I just want MY stuff back.

No. I don't know what the post does on this route but my boxes were torn apart and the stuff inside was not even contained anymore. A box that my mom sent me once before arrived the same way. I am making sure that anything shipped to me is in a bullet proof box from now on.
It was bad enough that it took me 2 hours to even pick up my stuff cause the ladies at the post office were rude. Now this! :cry:

stopxmotion - let me know if you need help in shopping to replace any ponies that went missing. That's awful treatment of packages, does the post office not offer any type of compensation for damaging things? Or only if they were insured?

There is nothing I can do. It's not like I can get the items back as they were either stolen or stuffed in someone else's package(I found a belt and medicine in mine that don't belong to me.) I didn't insure anything, but it would have been pointless anyway because 1. The entire box didn't go missing. And 2. It was all personal stuff like clothes and gifts and craft items. It would be too hard to prove the value on everything I shipped, and all they would do is give me a hard time and I'd end up in the same boat, plus more stressed and upset.
I managed to make myself feel a little better last night by spending some time on ebay and found a replacement for something I lost, plus I bought another pony. So I'll be ok. Thanks emery.

Yikes, Stopxmotion! That sounds horrible! Is it possible for you to get a PO box in another town and have stuff sent there? Maybe that way you don't have to deal with unhelpful people or destroyed boxes.
I got the last two ponies today!e I also picked up some sweets that are made in the next town over, so whoever gets my box will have a nice assortment of local goodies =)

stopxmotion - start kicking up a fuss, especially if the staff were rude to you. Treatment like that is just not on! I mean, they mishandled and lost your items, and other postal stuff, they should at least give you an apology. =( *offers hugs*
I could bloody shoot eBay, I really could. I bought a pony for my partner and she arrived *sticky* and with a massive dot on her face, I think it's a rust mark but she's totally clean otherwise? I have scrubbed her up but I'm less than impressed here, I have a gathering of little things for my partner, but I don't think they're good enough... Oh and my postman stuffed said pony butt-first into my letterbox so the parcel was hanging out of the front of the door, my housemate found her when she came home from work.
BLAAAARGH.

TEA all the way! I'm a heavy tea drinker; I go through at least three cups a day and sometimes more. I have yet to find a kind of tea that I refuse to drink visitors can't see pics , please register or login
My favorite has to be Celestial Seasoning's Imperial White Peach or their Country Peach. I think I like just about anything that's peach flavored.
McDonald ponies, baits, customs?
I love customs! There are so many talented artists here and it's amazing seeing what people come up with;) McDonald ponies would be great because I had to sell all of mine to pay the bills when I didn't have a job >_< Baits are totally acceptable because I LOVE to restore.
Accessories?
YES! Especially a so soft rearing stand.
Favorite Colors?
Any shade of purple. I also like green a lot. I made my art desk/computer room area a magenta and lime green theme because they're peppy and inspire me to get things done.
Candles, lotions, bath accessories?
I'm a huge candle addict, but have two major requirements on them. I won't burn any candle that contains lead in the wick because it's bad for your health to inhale the lead-laden smoke. The second is no essential oils in candles. I am owned by a cat and cat's can't properly metabolize essential oils in any form, so I try to avoid those for her health.
Lotions... Not so much. I like Burt's Bees lotions, but not really anything else.
Bath accessories- Salts! I'm a fiend for baths and love to add salts. Auria Cacia salts are my favorite, but I'm really not picky as long as they're not artificially fragranced (parfum on the ingredient label). Baths are my meditation and de-stressing time, so anything that helps with that is appreciated.
Extras preferences
I'm a pretty grateful person and appreciate any extras included. I prefer useful and beautiful things over kitchy dust catchers. My cat Misty loves boxes, so the box my swap stuff comes in is considered an extra! Chocolates are great, as are anything ginkgo, dragonfly, Celtic knot, or raven related. I also enjoy fairy gardening and am obsessed with moss and ferns.
Pets? Kids?
As mentioned before, a little snowshoe siamese kitty named Mist Luin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sEkCN8RqEm8&list=UU3Zkyl9fffwS6YfkerxGUoA&index=1&feature=plcp), aka Misty. She's my only child and I adore her to death =) She's currently having some intestinal issues, so any treats for her would have to be freeze-dried meats, such as shrimp or chicken, or greenies. Feathers are her favorite toys, as are a stuffed Chewbacca, and string.
Will anybody be celebrating a birthday during the swap?

Dinosaurs!Dinotopia has been a huge influence on my life and that has shown up in a dinosaur collection that rivals the pony one. Anything prehistoric is totally awesome =)
It's so neat reading everybodies likes and wants. I wish I could send a box to more than one person because I keep seeing people post things and I'm all "I like that too! I have xyz that I bet they'd love." But no spoilers on what/who, because I don't want to hint at who my partner is :silly:

I agree, you should confront your p.o.! Although I doubt they'll do anything about it :( At least make a serious compain, show how upset you are.

mercynova - Yeah it's weird isn't it? I haven't seen any either! I'm going to look around for some today plus a few ship-safe extra bits and pieces. I *love* living in York, there is a practically endless chocolate selection! *bounce*
Oh and if the replacement pony I just got off eBay arrives damaged/sticky I am going to be seriously unimpressed. I'm going to go check on the one I cleaned yesterday, if all else fails I'll keep her for me since I don't have her and she wasn't on my wishlist (I think?).

Holy cow am I lucky! I found my partners Etsy favorites and was going through them, trying to get a feel for other things my partner would like. I found a very nice item that was priced a bit high for what it was. Fortunately, I already had all the supplies and know-how to make it myself. So, I sat down with the Etsy store open on my computer and did the main part of the work. Today, when I logged in to do the last bit of touch up and make it match, that store is gone! If I had waited one more day to start this extra, I wouldn't have had the reference picture.
I've really got to stop putting extras in this box. It's going to be really heavy for shipping!

Squee! I just found two ponies off my partner's swap list and they're on their way... that more than makes up for the rust-spot pony I ended up with initially... phew! Now I just have to wait for two USA packages and then that should be a box of things to go off.
...And now I'm wondering if I just bought too much. I still need to get candy/chocolate and paper to wrap it all.

I am gonna try to get teaser pics this Thursday. I'll be shipping out early February. I'm always paranoid about things not getting there on time.

Still waiting on 3 ponies here, which is getting really annoying. I have the postal box, the wrapping paper, and all the extras ready to go (and looking delicious, I may have to go back for more for myself)... but I'm missing the ponies!
On the plus side an eBay seller whom I bought two from put some 'matching' accessories in because I was polite, and they're actually what came with the pony so I'll be putting those in as a plus.

In more package saga - I now have the receipt number (package was sent first class) and the last notice on the tracking website is on 6 Jan when it was "Processed at USPS Origin Sort Facility". Anyone more familiar with the postage system can tell me what this means, or what I can do from here? The same tracking number either doesn't work on my local tracking system, or it hasn't reached Singapore yet, so the number isn't in the system. Label number: LC080992157US

I missed a delivery on Thursday which is appearing tomorrow, since what I thought it was going to be actually turned up today, I'm wondering if it was my pony box. This week just took a dive into Dark Places, so ponies would be utterly lovely and welcomed at this stage.

I FINALLY GOT MY PARCEL TODAY! I found out why it had been delayed that long, the entire envelope had been ripped apart along one of the seams! @__@!! My local post office took the time to repackage everything neatly for me, and I've checked to see that all the items are still intact, so whoop whoop! I'll try to wrap everything by tonight and send out tomorrow if I can, or it will have to be Saturday.

I have shipped. I was late because of unexpected problems with one pony that arrived late as it was and wasn't at all what I've expected. I was able to get a replacement pony thanks to good friends. At least some luck, but gaaaah!! I've never experienced so much problems with ponys.
I'm sorry for the delay and for not updating here. Guess I was too stressed to even think clear at first. :shocked: I hope the box will make it in time to Valentine anyway.

But guess what, the box arrived yesterday! And yesterday was Valentine's day ;) I only got it today as I wasn't able to check the p.o. yesterday, but it said on the notice that it arrived yesterday. So great timing, ha? :)
I have it at work with me and even though I'm very very impatient, I'll open a present every hour or so to keep the whole day exciting :biggrin: IF I can be patient enough that is, hehe!
So far I've seen the snacks that weren't wrapped (they look yummy!!) and had a peak at one of the ponies and I think I know who it is :cheer:

Sorry for the late shipping. My partner should have the box Friday or Saturday.... I did receive my box from Emery- Skittles, Sourpatch kids, 8 G4 animals 2 dogs and a raccoon that I didn't already own! A flower barrette for the ballerinas/ Promqueens in peach- I did not have this color yet either.... BNG Ringlets and Creamsicle round off the goodies!
