Hiya ponies! Would anyone be interested in a pony meet in Northwest Ohio in Napoleon? It would be closer for the Michigan and Chicago ponies. If we did it, we were thinking maybe end of April. Any interest?

It should be noted that we are not trying to take the place of the Ohio Pony Meet that comes around every August. We just thought that it would be a lot easier for those of us in the Northern part of the state to go to this one and that more people for Michigan and Chicago would be able to make it.
Anywhoodle, people should come as it will be a lot of fun! LadySatine, Windsong, and myself are extremely awesome, so it goes without saying that any meet will plan will be loads of fun.

I am interested, although it would be a bit of a drive for me (from Athens). Depends on how school is treating me at the time :)
But I would definitely make an effort to get there!

If I can get time off of work, I'd make the trip from south Dayton, and could offer a carpool to people along the way.

We will try to have a solid date set soon. We are still very much in the planning stages right now. :)
Speaking of planning, what are some events you guys would like to see at this meet? I just like to hear other people's oppinions and make sure that everyone has fun.

We played Fakie Baseball (not sure what we called it?) at the Ohio Meet this summer and it was SUPER FUN.

Of course we are... wait, we are?! I still need to come up with ideas. My mind has been elsewhere as of late with problems at work.
I'm so out of the loop pony wise, I'd be afraid of identifying ponies, lol. You know what they say, if you don't use it, you lose it! I'm just glad to have my pony identification books.
LadySatine: I can't come up with any good ideas! I mean, except for food. ;)

I am in northeast ohio ~ but I don't know if I can drive that far. @.@; (my max tolerance for long drives is 2 hours) + I am also pretty shy.

Ooh! I'll try my hardest! My coworker has to fill in for me if I take a Saturday off, though, so I need to make sure she can fill in. She said she has two things to do on weekends in April, so fingers crossed that the last weekend is free!

That should work for me. I haven't been to one since mine years ago lol! I should have a ton of pto time by then anyway and it will be to cold to go off four wheeling. Probably will have overspent at equine affaire quite a bit but oh well :)

I would really love to come. It will be 3 1/2 hours for my husband (if I can talk him into it) and I. We've gone that far before though. What about kids? We have an 19 month old.

Sounds like fun! It has been sad lately with fewer meets around, so 2 in Ohio sounds great! We will just be sure to spread them out little with some time between for everyone to save up money!
Is the 28th the set date then? I will have to get off work that day so I need plenty of notice. Also how far of a drive is it for you all when you drive down to our meet? So I can plan travel. thanks :)

That's cool you're in Kettering - I'm from Springboro, and my dad's a Kettering cop (a good one, I swear!!). It's always nice seeing pony people who are so close!!
On topic - please let me know if there's anything I can do to be of help. I'm pretty far away but I told myself I wanted to become more involved in the pony community this year, so.... :D

Haha, ohio is really good at having meets right after my big cons XD Last year the regular meet was right afer SDCC, and this one is a couple of weeks after C2E2! Translation: I will be broke! But We'll see.

Okay, I will call the place tomorrow to see if that date is open so I can nail down this date. I will be starting a forum soon and it will be on page one. I'll post when it's ready.
Someone asked about children! Children are very welcome, however you MUST keep a good eye on them, which I'm sure all parents do. I say this because the venue we are looking at is right next to the Maumee River, which is deep and wide and has a fast current.

I don't want to pressure you or anything, but the Ohio Pony Meet may be a great little con for you to go to. There aren't a ton of people there, and we all pretty much know each other so it's really chill! Plus it's not neeaarrly as claustrophobia-inducing as some of the big cons :P

I agree with the above. I'm pretty shy myself in crowds of strangers, but I can start to relax given a little bit of time. And we won't pressure anyone into doing something they don't feel like doing. You can just sit back and watch and buy and trade and sell. :) Whatever makes you feel the most comfortable.

Ooo, ya, we're going to C2E2 also! It's not looking very likely that we'll be able to do both, but who knows. Maybe it'll be especially pretty and warm that day and we'll feel like taking a road trip :)

So I was going to go to the place that I want to have it, but it was closed because of the holiday today! I'm hoping I have time before work to atleast call and get us penciled in! Sorry guys, I'm trying!
EDIT:
The place is not available all day that day. It may need to be moved to the end of May or beginning of June. Will that work anybody? I know it is close to the pony fair's dates, but I'm just seeing if it will work.

Isn't the fair in July this year? I could be wrong since I haven't been keeping up with it beyond finding out it was in Florida, which I can not afford to go to. XD

The 7th is on Easter weekend... so that one's out. I can't remember if the 14th was a possibility or not. LS, you'll have to remind me if there was something going on that day, because I can't remember now. Lol. :P

The problem with that weekend is that that's when Equine Affaire is. Of course if only a couple of us were planning on going (I know I wasn't the only one) there won't be much of an issue. I don't want to derail the planning just for a couple people :blush:

That day is not available for the place. :( We have one more place to try and I won't have time to call until Friday. So if we can't find anything by Friday, then I think this meet will have to wait until Fall or Spring of next year.

The fall is when we have our SW Ohio Pony Meet, near Cincinnati. ^_^ This will be our sixth year in a row. Lady Satine sometimes carpools people down? (crosses hooves). Anyway, soon I will be polling some people on preferred dates... our Hostess team is getting things started, woot! (There's five of us right now)

By "people" I think you mean me. :silly: I have been her riding buddy for the past two years now, so I am pretty sure there will be a third time if she can stand me. I can't wait for the meet this year, hopefully we can have this one too and if not this year there is always next year, right? ^.^

Oh oh oh!!! We could totally have a TON of fun if this was near Halloween in October! We could have people who bring their kids dress them up and go around collecting stamps and candy from each seller person and whoever has the most wins an awesome prize. And........HALLOWEEN THEMED CUSTOM CONTEST!!! :biggrin: Oh the possibilities they are endless!
Halloween is my favorite holiday, so I have a million possible plans up my sleeves. :joy: And we could have a little bit of a nod towards Monster High or...or! The Nightmare Before Christmas.....yes, YES! *rambleramble*

Oh well I was really hoping this would work out for spring. October isn't going to work for me this year......due to have another baby on October 15th! So I don't think I will be at the meet, but you all have lots of fun. And I will still see you this summer at the Cincy meet.
