Does G4 Spike Count?

I give each of my ponies a number when I get them but don't count the pets partly because they don't have names... but what about Spike?  He's a named Character but not a pony... so should I count him or not?  I have two of him now 
 
I did count the G1 Spike and other dragons and pets while I collected the G1s but I know other people didn't.
 
What's your opinion?

I would count him because he's a fairly prominent character and he is specifically named on the packaging for the toys. The other pets are not named on the packaging even if they are referenced in the show at all~ n_n

I think i would count him. Its a tough decision though, for me anyways...

I agree. I know bushwoolies had names, so did the my little pony brush-able friends that weren't actual ponies, but I'm not sure if there ever were pets with names in G1 or other gens. So I'd count him as a character not a pet/accessory.

I would count him as a character! He plays a decent part in the shows. You see him in almost every episode, but you do not see the pets as often.

Yes, he counts!  I love Spike!!   He is really the only male character present in each episode;)

The G4's pets?  Unless we're talking about Rarity's cat (Angel?), I don't know if any of the others have name (Maybe Fluttershy's rabbit?) =P

Hmmm....when I tally up my G1s I dont count any of the dragons or brandy or duck soup or twinkles or et all as characters so I would say no....but thats just me!

I thought the bushwoolie and dragons were snubbed by most collectors when they count ponies but I always counted them  
I'm beginning to think I might need to change some of my numbers to fit Spike in!

He totally counts! I figure if they have names they should be counted.

I count Bushwoolies, and I'd count G4 Spike too. Opal the Cat and Angel the Bunny, probably not since I don't count the G1 cats and dog (although I still want them all). I guess for me, if they're not a pony but talk, they count. Not sure what I would do about the other G1 dragons that are not Spike, but I don't expect to ever have any either.

I count him. If I actually had any, I'd probably count Bushwoolies and dragons from G1 as well. I count Kingsley! As for the G4 pets, I don't count them. They're to small and they seem more like accessories to me, which is why I don't display them.
