I swear it reminds me of the garbage pail kids. If anyone knows what they are they were gross knock offs of the cabbage patch kids. I think they were trading cards. Not to be off topic.
-
Theres more! Just google "wacky packages my little phony"

Ditto! That's what I thought it was at first. It's gross but pretty funny. It would be a neat addition to a pony room LOL

:lmao: I love it!

Eeee! I remember Wacky Packages! ^.^ Never noticed that one, though (or maybe it just wasn't in the packs I'd got). Thanks for putting that out there - I'd forgotten about them until you prodded my memory!
I think I had a Blunder bread sticker on my playroom door for ages...
-
LOL MY SIDES.
Wow that's awesome art though!
-
That is awesome art it is kinda like a drink and wet pony in reverse.
-

well good luck on your GPK quest :)
-
Um........is that thing really real?
-
LOL XD
-
Lol I love this :)
It was actually sticker 69 in the Wacky Packages Flashback II series which was out in 2008 [the art was supposed to have been in the 1992 series but didnt make it hence why its called "lost art"]. You can still buy base sticker sets of Wacky Packages Cards in some sites - the base set of 72 stickers includes the MLP card.
Here are a couple of scans of the card back and front.

That's what I thought, too. I loved those things and had a bunch of them, but I've never seen this pony thing. Reading the details on the auction makes me think they might somehow be related. I'm highly suspicious if it's actually worth that much, though.
-
I don't know if its worth as much as the auction is asking as its been up for sale for a while but it is original artwork after all - for a Wacky Packages collector it will probably have a very high value. As pony collectors what would we pay if an original piece of artwork from a backcard came up on auction? Its a one off piece of pony history, I can imagine they would sell very well.
-
LOL!!! Weirdest.thing.EVER!!!

True, I guess I am just e-bay-shy when it comes to something like this because of all the people who try to sell "SuPeR RaRe PoNiEs- L@@K!!" like Cotton Candy for 5x what they're usually worth. Art like this would be difficult to get a good appraisal on, I'd imagine, because it's so non-mainstream.
-
Dislike those, but art still mightly better than modern FIM one...

Lol so true. Heck it probably is over priced - if it wasnt it wouldnt have been listed for so long! And I am assuming collectors of other things are as wonderfully crazy as us over here :)
-
AMAZING, I love it! Man, the best thing is how close it is to a real MLP backcard! I think they must've had a So-Soft backcard for a model, LOL!

You're right, they do remind me of the Garbage Pail Kids! xD

I am not sure if the card/painting is worth that much either but, whatever to each their own :)

When you can get some Nirvana ponies for $50-100 I can't imagine why MLP collectors would pay the $900 for this card. That's just me, though. And, like you said, it is original art and fairly unique. So, who knows?

I think its down to the individual and what they collect. I have paid more for some accessories and for some paperwork [namely adventure cards and puffy stickers and rare UK barrettes] than I have paid for a large amount of my nirvana ponies. I think something like that artwork is more for a Wacky Packages collector than an MLP collector to be honest.

I don't know, I think it would go pretty great in a pony room if you had the right sense of humor! :silly: <---spittle pony

It would be cool very true! I meant more the price and the idea of an original artwork of a Wacky Package may appeal a little more to their collectors rather than MLP and therefore the price may be more understandable to them. Or they could have a thread like this on their forum moaning about the ridiculous price as well :P
-
OH, that's just nasty.
-
I.... what. I have no words.
-
Eww...at first I was expecting a Spitter from Left 4 Dead 2 Ponified...XD
Come on...any Left 4 Dead people had the same thought? ;)
