Toraleis Hair!!!

First of all - remember a couple of weeks ago when I said I only wanted to get 2-3 MH Dolls.... PAH HA HA HA HA HA!!!  Ahem, excuse me.  So I got my Toralei today, but I'm not sure what to do with her hair - I mean its well styled for the length of it, and it has those cool stenciled markings on it, but it feels soo icky, I really want to wash it - but I'm aprehensive as to what it will be like afterwards.  Has anyone out there washed their Toraleis hair - if so I would love to hear how it turned out (and pics if poss pretty pretty please!) Thanks now! xxxxx

I washed out my Toraleis and it went kind of... fluffy? I don't know if that's the right word. My camera cable is missing at the moment but I'm going to go look for it later today. I can take some pictures for you once I've found it

I haven't gotten mine yet (she's on her way in the mail) but I've heard the markings fade when the hair is washed and they have to be drawn back in.

I don't have any advice on Toralei, I just wanted to say that when this started LAST WEEK, I only thought I was getting TWO dolls. TWO.

I washed my Toralei's hair. I dont really like it rock hard. I just got her hair wet and didnt use any products. I was going to let it dry and not comb her stripes but my boyfriend intervened. They are faded but I dont thin its too bad.

I've seen a few comparison photos floating around and it looks great without the gunk, but the stripes fade.

I just rinsed Toralei's hair with warm water and yeah, the hair got a bit fluffy and the stripes faded. So I filled in the stripes with a thin sharpie. In my opinion she looks so much better without all that icky stuff in her hair. ^-^

My Toralei's hair came out so nice! I washed it with (if i recall correctly) some frizz defeat conditioner by garnier.  The longer part tends to fall in her face. If you have an unused soft bristle toothbrush, it works wonders to smooth/groom her hair.  Here's a pic of her with my computer.

Thanks, Alrak! I'm pretty pleased myself and I thought it might be an idea for those who wants stripes even after the wash. ^-^

the stripes don't actually wash off or anything, it's just they're on the top layer of her hair, so when you wash it, those fibers are likely not going to exactly next to each other, or on top anymore, so it 'lightens' - but it's still there. I wash mine, and she has the marks still, though it's faint. I just think the girls look good with a bit of a fluff in their hair. I bought a second and she's in box, just in case I ever want one with the full dark stripes.

Apparently, the striped are printed on last, so when you wash the gunk off, the stripes come with it. I could be wrong though, I just know someone who is a doll maker and she told me.
