Now the system is put in place to encourage trading within the European Union. Fair enough - I buy a cheap Ipad from Hongkong - the government misses out on sales tax. I don't disagree with the system as such, although I do disagree with the ridicolously low threshold (it's like $25) but the main point is that this should not even be applied to second hand goods.
They've already had their sales tax when the item was first purchased. They wouldn't get anything out of me if I purchased a second hand toy within the UK - so why should they charge me just because the toy comes from Canada?

Couldn't agree with you more Sebby. Outrageous customs charges on second hand items have pretty much stopped me buying any expensive ponies from outside of Europe. I'm happy to pay them on new items like Iphones and perfume etc. - but on second hand plastic ponies that wouldn't have sales tax applied in this country and are essentially worthless to anyone other than collectors, no.

I paid $120 for Sea Mist's sticker in a fierce auction 4 years ago if it helps there are so few of these stickers about that they're pretty much worth whatever an accessory nut is prepared to pay for them!

Don't worry Tilly he's not going anywhere but the thing with my childhood ponies is that I'm 25 and have been collecting continuously my whole life so I literally have hundreds of childhood ponies! My collection has been in storage at my mum's for over 5 years because I don't have space in my current house for even a third of them. So I've thought about it long and hard and I've decided that I want a manageable collection of 200-300 ponies that I can display with their accessories and enjoy rather than 800 in boxes. This does mean letting go of some of my childhood ponies but I figure someone should actually enjoy them rather than leaving them collect dust in an attic for another five years. I'm keeping all those I have particular memories with so I'll still have plenty of childhood ponies to appreciate

Plus, I'm using the funds from selling them to go to Japan in September so although I'll have a few less childhood ponies I'll have lots of exciting memories in their place and who knows, maybe I'll hit the jackpot and find a Takara!!!!!!??

Eyes and symbols perfect, no marks, hair still pink (pinker than photo shows, can't get it to show up very well) although forelock strands lighter than rest, has some original curl but a bit poofy.

Has a lot of issues! I'm going to clean her properly because some of the marks on her look like they'd come off. Mane trimmed slightly I think, also has some strands in forelock cut short. Tail has some shorter strands and is a bit wispy at the ends. Has lots of marks. Symbols rubbed. Mechanism doesn't really work. Eyes not rusted but a bit 'crusty'. Body Yellowed in places. Small crack on forehead.

I'm a long time member and collector but have been out of the loop for the last couple of years and haven't posted in an age (although I do lurk occasionally!). Due to space limitations the time has finally come to sell the bulk of my 700+ G1 and G2 collection.

I know it's going to be hard deciding who to let go of but I've decided that I want a manageable number that I can appreciate rather than hundreds of ponies in storage.
