As some of you may know, I started a new job as an office assistant this week. I'm also an introduction into information technology tutor at the local community college, so I'm still working that job as well. It puts me a bit above 40 hours a week of working, but that's okay! I still get weekends off, there are no evening/night hours at either place, and I'll have most holidays off at both places.  Not only that, but I have my own desk at the new job! I've never had my own space at work before, so it feels awesome. I'm definitely going to deck the space out with ponies and Pokemon because OF COURSE! Oh, and the person I share an office with is someone I graduated high school with almost 10 years ago! Yesterday was my first full day of work there and time went by so quickly because I had him to talk to about all sorts of things. We have a ton in common, so that definitely helped. This extra income is going to go towards paying off my student loans (I'm soooo close to being done with that) and starting on a few projects around the house. My husband can finally breathe a sigh of relief because I'll be able to help with some expenses now.  I finally feel content with everything that's going on in my life. Looking for a new job had me really feeling down. So... Anyone else have some awesome news to share, or just something that made you happy recently? I wanna know!

Firstly, I want to thank Aquatic Neon for the heads up. I was partially joking about that whenever he posted about obtaining the Nightmare Moon Funko vinyl prototype, but he came through in a big way and got me in touch with the person who was selling my ultimate grail! Is anyone else playing this mobile phone game? I installed it a few days ago, when it was released here in the US and it's pretty fun so far. More engaging than Pokemon GO, that's for sure. Other than that, I can't really compare the two since they aren't even remotely the same. Pokemon Duel is about strategy and building a good team, and that's something that I was missing with Pokemon GO. Apparently the game has been released in Japan for quite some time, unsurprisingly. People have compared it to Dokkan Battle, a DBZ game. My husband plays that game and it seems fun, but I felt that it was too late for me to jump in since I may have missed out on some cool event characters. The release of Pokemon Duel helped fill that void a little, though.  In the game, you're given 6 Pokemon to start with and you battle with them. So far it seems like only Gen 7 Pokemon haven't been included, but I'm sure they'll be available soon. This is my team right now. Searching for an opponent takes an incredibly long amount of time sometimes. I'd say that maybe 90% of the time, I've waited almost 5 minutes for a partner to be found. This wouldn't be such an issue, but each game lasts less than 10 minutes so I don't feel like I'm accomplishing much when I spend so much time waiting for a match. 2. Not a huge fan of how everything is based on chance. You use a spinner to determine your move, if you miss, or if you use a defensive move. You use a spinner to determine who goes first. Aside from cards you can use to help you (such as waking a sleeping Pokemon up or adding extra strength to your attacks) it feels a little unbalanced when you constantly spin "miss" and your opponent always hits. 3. Lots of errors-- for now. I understand that launching this game in so many countries at once has caused issues with the servers, and I'm willing to forgive them for that. But I know I'd play this game a lot more if I could get past the home screen sometimes. Usually I have to force close the game several times before it actually loads. I'm hoping this is fixed in the future. I still think it's worth giving a shot. After you play the tutorial, you'll know right away if this game is for you. I also like that it's free-to-play, although there are options to use money to purchase in-game currency which you can use for items, such as boxes that contain new Pokemon to use. Gems are used to buy items in the store in the game, and they've been pretty generous with gems. You get them for completing missions each day, logging in, etc. so buying items is actually fairly easy. Like most mobile games, it's a good time waster. Plus what Pokemon fan doesn't love new ways to collect Pokemon? I think it's neat despite all the hate I've been seeing for it.

Meet Monster (light, female) and Munchkin (dark, male)! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginSome of you probably know that my 3 previous ferrets have all passed away between Christmas of 2015 and October of last year. So it's been a few months since I've been without a ferret and it has been incredibly rough, because I loved having them around. After giving it some time, my husband and I decided that we would take a trip to the local ferret shelter and adopt one or two of them to come home with us. The couple that runs the shelter were ecstatic that we wanted to adopt from them again, since we were only a handful of people they've ever had adopt their older, sick ferrets. This time we wanted a younger, healthy ferret. Luckily, despite the shelter overflowing with ferrets in December, they were down to just four who needed homes. Two of them had come in together, and the shelter owner would only allow them to be adopted if they left together. So we decided to take them! When they were introduced to us, Munchkin gave me so many kisses, and Monster gave me kisses too, even though we were told that she wasn't very affectionate. I took that as a sign. They're both 3 years old, very healthy, and extremely playful. Munchkin is the tamer one of the two, and Monster definitely has a fitting name because she can be pretty wild...and she likes to nip at fingers for no reason. It hasn't even been 24 hours yet and I'm in love, though to be fair I fall in love with ferrets that I don't even know. But these two are sweethearts and I hope they love us too.

Since June of last year, I've been taking my health very seriously. I've started eating better, drinking LOTS more water, and being as active as possible. For Christmas, my husband got me a Fitbit Charge 2 and I am in loooove with it! It's helped me get back on a regular sleeping schedule, I'm paying more attention to my calorie intake, and the 250+ steps an hour reminder thing is awesome! So, I was just wondering, do any of you lovely Arena people have a Fitbit? If so, would you like to be friends? We can exchange emails through PM to make things easier. I've found that having friends and doing challenges through the app really motivates me to move around and get those steps in.

Just a heads up. I was browsing TRU's website and saw some sales going on with a few pony items: Midnight at Canterlot set for $22.99 instead of $29.99. Guardians of Harmony Celestia for $14.99 instead of $19.99, same with Nightmare Moon. New fashion style ponies for $11.24. EqG minis school dance collection set for $29.99 instead of $39.99. That's just a handful of them, there are other items on sale too. I've noticed that TRU does things like this often on their site, so it's always worth it to check them out! Plus, free shipping on orders over $19.

Last week I placed an order on Kmart's website. I had $7 in rewards on my account, so I used it towards the 10 inch Cartwheel Kids styling Rainbow Dash and the Rainbow Dash Cloudiminium playset. They shipped separately, with the playset coming from Florida and the styling head coming from Michigan. Anyway, I got the playset on Tuesday and it turned out to be the Pinkie Pie one. I blamed myself for this, since the listing on the site has Pinkie Pie's playset pictured despite the name being Rainbow Dash. Regardless, I think it's very misleading of them to not have a matching picture. Today I received the styling head, which I was most excited for, and when I opened the box it was a Pinkie Pie styling head! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginI just wanted to warn people in case you planned on ordering from there. Yes, I know I could just go to a Kmart and look for the toys there, but there's literally one Kmart within 25 miles of where I live. All of them are closing! So online was my only option. This was a very disappointing week for pony mail, to say the least.

So I'm sure anyone who knows the story of my last two ferrets is probably tired of hearing it. Long story short, both of my (very young) ferrets passed away within two weeks of each other. Latte left us a few days after Christmas, and Furret left us shortly after the new year began. Those two were my whole life- outside of my husband, my profile picture here is of the two of them (Furret on the left, Latte on the right), and I seriously loved them so much. So, skip ahead to April. I "liked" a ferret rescue page on Facebook, and the shelter is in the Pittsburgh area, just a half an hour away from me. The woman who runs it posts that she and her husband are going on vacation mid-May and need some knowledgeable volunteers to watch after the ferrets she has in her care. There are a BUNCH of ferrets, and she spent a ton of time grouping them together to go to various homes for the week and a half that she'd be away. After discussing it with my husband, we decided it'd be a good time for us to get back into the swing of things with ferret care. I message the woman to let her know that we're interested, and she got back to me with this picture: visitors can't see pics , please register or login"I was thinking of letting you watch Maximus." She started, "He needs some TLC to finish recovering from severe flea bites." His previous owners didn't feed him the correct types of food, and he was abandoned, later found just walking down the street, covered in fleas and near death. I was crying when she told me all of this, but seeing that picture made me smile so much. He's such a cutie! We went to pick him up and the woman informed us that he was off of the meds he had been on for his anemia! It was great news, since that was a sign that he was getting better, and we didn't have to worry about making sure he took his medicine. We were also told that he wasn't very playful, and that his back legs were too weak for climbing activities. He also isn't a fan of other ferrets, and we think it's probably because he can't really keep up with your typically ferret. She wasn't sure of his age, but estimated that he's about 4, and may be developing Adrenal Gland Disease (which isn't deadly if it's treated. Our ferret Furret had the disease and was fine up until he ended up having unrelated problems). Anyway, we had him for the duration of the week and a half and fell in love! He actually loved playing with us and running around our bedroom. He especially seemed to like our cage set up, which is just the cage being in our walk-in closet, which is between our bedroom and master bathroom. We can shut the bedroom and bathroom doors, so that he only has access to our bedroom and the closet. There's a scratching post in the closet as well, and various toys in our room for him to play with. He ended up sleeping so much because he'd just wear himself out playing! He's litter trained, so we have litter pans set up in our room and in his cage and he knows to use them (huuuuuuge plus, because our other two ferrets pooed and peed where ever they felt like it). He also really liked my pony room, so I snapped a few pictures of him during his time in there (as well as his new favorite hiding places) and posted them to the ferret rescue page. visitors can't see pics , please register or loginvisitors can't see pics , please register or loginAfter he had been with us for a week, I messaged the ferret rescue lady and told her that we were interested in adopting Maximus. She was thrilled at the idea and said we'd talk it over when she got back from vacation. So, as obvious from the title of this topic, we were able to adopt him! He's such a wonderful addition to our family and he loves everyone. We had a cookout at our house on Monday, so he got to meet our family and friends, and he was so playful with everyone. We've met a vet appointment for him so that, if there are any problems, we can work on them so he can live a happy life with us. Our plan was to adopt a ferret in the near future, but we didn't think it'd be this soon. We just knew there was no way we couldn't adopt Maximus, he's the sweetest. Who's excited?! visitors can't see pics , please register or loginFor anyone who doesn't know, the episodes will have subtitled versions put up on Crunchyroll and Hulu (and I think viz.com) as they air. Instead of bi-weekly episodes, we're getting weekly episodes for this season! If you've watched it, what did you think? I personally loved everything about it. The new animation is is beautiful, and the introduction of Haruka and Michiru was spot on! The opening theme took some getting used to for me, since I really did enjoy the upbeat/rock tone of Moon Pride, but this new one is still very nice. The ending is beautiful and I think I cried a little bit, my husband even said I just seemed to be in a trance while watching it. I also like that they did away with the CG transformation sequences. My only complaint is that the episode felt so short and just a little rushed, but it was still a satisfying episode. Brushables aren't actually what got me into collecting ponies back when I began watching Friendship is Magic. It was the Funko vinyls that did it for me. When Rainbow Dash and  were first released, my old roommate picked them up for me as a surprise and I've been addicted to these ever since. I got the last glitter I needed, Cheese Sandwich, a few days ago. I always tried to stay away from the scary ebay prices (with the exception of glitter Luna) and I got very lucky with finding a lot of these glitters in stores or getting them in my preorders. My husband would also surprise me from time to time with a glitter variant I was missing. In my entire pony room, these shelves are my favorites and the part of my collection I'm most proud of. I just HAVE to brag about this amazing bag that I won in a giveaway contest on Instagram! Participants had to post a picture of either an MLP themed outfit from Ironfist Clothing or a "My Little Pony masterpiece" using our own MLP items. You can see my winning picture here on my Instagram. It was a Christmas giveaway, hence the theme of my picture. The prize was a very shiny, very cute purse featuring Yum Yum! I had just bought a Yum Yum from a member here on the Arena, so it was only fitting that she was used in my entry picture. I ended up being one of the two winners! I took the pieces out of the box since the box was damaged, but all of the pieces were there, including the instructions and the Twilight Sparkle. I know the Funko figures and especially the hikari figures aren't a huge hit with the arena folk, but I love 'em! So far I have all of the current releases and I'm pretty proud of this collection. Now... Just thought I'd give you all a heads up that Build A Bear is doing that 2 for $35 special again, and the two newest ponies, Muffins and DJ Pon-3, are included!  Good things come to those who wait... now I can get my hands on these two cuties!
