I didn't get all of these ponies at once, several of them are set completers so I took their siblings off the shelf too  ^.^

« on: March 10, 2023, 09:52:03 AM »
So I spotted this pony online and thought I should probably get her even though she wasn't on the top of my want list, cause she was a decent price and good condition. and then I FORGOT to bid  buuut no one else bid and she was reposted! she arrived today and now suddenly she's one of my favorite ponies ever?? The color combo and intensity?? top tier! I may have to try to get all the other tropical ponies now :)

Trader & Shipping Support / Ebay etiquette and missing packages
« on: November 24, 2020, 10:33:12 AM »
So I ordered some ponies from ebay and etsy. However, the Swedish post is garbage and has lost/not delivered a couple packages (was on the phone with them this morning and they were like "meh what do you want us to do?"). I feel really bad about marking "my package didn't arrive"/requesting a refund as I know it's not the seller's fault... what would you do??

I had tracking and everything, and have called postnord a couple times. I know it’s corona times but tracking says the packages arrived in sweden a MONTH ago ;_; Dear Ophelie on Etsy, I am so sorry for my country’s garbage post. not sure what to do about that 😡 :enraged:

I haven't really been adding to my toy collection for a few years now and this year I went a little crazy..... all of the ponies were shipped to my parents in the US who then brought them over in a giant suitcase when they came to visit, with the exception of tic tac toe who I managed to snag here. The breyers and playmobil are mine from childhood and it's been so long since I got to have them in my room! I'm so looking forward to figuring out how to fit all of this into my display (and actually adding a few more this coming year....

Hello,
I hope this is appropriate here- I'm trying to figure out what site would be best for me to sell on!

I'm not really looking to make a big profit, I just want things to go to other collectors who will enjoy them (and I need more space!) I have ponies, vintage littlest pet shop, vintage polly pocket, ever after high, etc but nothing really rare(or pricey).

On Ebay it seems much cheaper and easier to list buy it now only, is that a viable option?

Etsy seems....very complicated. What are your thoughts? are the fees really as high as they look like they would be?

Is it better to sell in lots or piece by piece?!

I also have the option of tradera or blocket if anyone has experience with those. I will most likely make a post on the Arena too, but since I'm in Sweden I'd imagine most wouldn't want to pay the shipping prices...

Thank you!

Off Topic / Is anyone else in your family a collector?
« on: September 17, 2017, 09:50:33 AM »
I was just thinking about this the other day. As a teenager/young adult my parents used to say "come on now, why are you spending your money on toys?"

*looks at dad with his extensive collection of vintage toy ambulances and firetrucks carefully arranged in their display case*
*looks at mom with her even more extensive collection of steiff animals and other vintage toys in the special display cases my dad built for her*

"gee, I don't know guys, where do you think I got that from?"

When I was a little kid we all went antiquing together, and they taught me to have a pretty good eye for collectables. Their collections were never very large as they were extremely picky, but I remember having so much fun those hours spent pouring through weird stuff in antique shops to find a little gem. I feel that after the internet really got going those sorts of shops disappeared :c

Pony Brag Arena / My little collection
« on: September 17, 2017, 06:46:17 AM »
This is what I have displayed at the moment, although there are a few boxes in storage/set aside to sell. I haven't bought any new additions for a couple years, and I can't wait to start adding to it! Feels a bit strange to be show-offy in this way but this IS the brag arena

Some of the remaining stuff is inside that shelf.

some treasures from my childhood- I still remember finding that dream beauty at a garage sale and thinking how weird it was that she had my little pony eyes ^.^

....yes that's sweet scoops! I played with her a lot as a child (my favorite colors were pink and purple) so she's got a bit of surface dirt but is otherwise in great condition (I've been a bit afraid to clean her since I found out that she was uncommon.....) the deer and duck family I still have all the pieces to! The deer family I bought MOC in an antique shop, but as a kid I couldn't resist deboxing them. I was totally obsessed with lps and have a big box of them at my parents' house.

bubblefish was my FAVORITE as a kid. Major points for anyone who recognizes the little cheburashka and moomin  if anyone knows anything about the moomin toy I'd love to hear it! I wanted sniff and moominmamma too but I didn't have enough pocket money  :P I bought it at Junibacken around 2002 ish. here's a closeup:

I bought these in the late 90's- I just realized that it says cinnamontail and not cinnamoroll?? anyway, I think they are very cute and I still have quite a love for this little character  ^.^

I hope this sort of post belongs in the brag arena, I'd love to see more photos of peoples' collections in general!

« on: September 17, 2017, 04:54:41 AM »
I live in Sweden, but I can also ship things to my parents in Seattle!

Ponies:
G1 Bunny Hop (I'd like nice hair, lovely if it's still pink, a body that isn't very yellow or damaged. A damaged/missing symbol is fine, I can make a replacement.)
G1 Nice n Spicy
G1 or G2 school playset (the accessories aren't important, I am mostly interested in the building in good shape and color from a european seller! I have seen it so many times and have never been able to get it ;_;)
G2 miss painter (is she crazy expensive/rare? I never seem to see her but I just love her odd color choice)
G3 fancy winter minty

Polly pocket (pieces not neccessary!):
Heidi's alpine chalet 1989(but I want most of the pieces for this one)
ice skating party 1989
fairy wishing world 1992
Jeweled Forest aka Princess Polly's Woodland World 1992
Jewel Magic Ball - Sparkle Surprise 1996

Barbie (from the early barbie movies):

Toy Box & Games Cupboard / What are your non- my little pony grails?
« on: September 01, 2017, 09:38:05 AM »
I have been thinking about a horse that I used to LOVE:
http://www.darah.com/collection/jewelriders/toyguide.asp
Moondance from Princess Guinevere and the Jewel Riders! I think I got it at a garage sale, I never had any of the accessories. I remember getting some of the dolls new, and I definitely took this horse to show-and-tell in preschool. Unfortunately, it went missing somehow and I would really like to replace it.... but it seems to sell for ~$200 on ebay
I had the deluxe princess Guinevere and deluxe Tamara as well- I still have the cat! Wish I had kept those as they seem to sell for quite a lot these days as well

Introductions / Hej!
« on: August 15, 2017, 08:21:57 AM »
I'm an American living in Sweden, and yes I did lug my toy collection across the atlantic

I'm a 90's kid but since most all of my stuff was hand-me-downs or found at yard sales, I grew up with 80's toys! When I was little I generally only bought garage sale ponies if they were in decent condition and I cringe now thinking about what I probably missed! I went through a phase where I just bought any G1 or G3 ponies I could get my hands on, and now that I am going through all my things (kon mari, anyone?) it seems like the time to say goodbye to some and start looking for the ones I really want. I am an adult with a salaried job these days after all. Time to start spending my money in the right places  :P

I also loved breyer horses, polly pocket, fairy winkles, starcastles, and littlest pet shop, though I don't collect those any longer. There is just something special about ponies that keeps me coming back  :)
