Title: So soft ponies: now with photos
Post by: Gator on November 18, 2017, 01:46:15 PM
I already have all the G1 so soft ponies, but I really would like to have some deflocked.  So I bought a box lot of several online that appeared in bad shape in the photos, just for the purpose of having some to deflock.  But once they arrived, they look great!  Best Wishes looks mint!  Hippity has a pink mane!  All they need is a bath... Except Twilight.  Twilight is awesome except for something that I assume is lipstick on her mouth, as well as staining around the muzzle.  Will lipstick wash out of a sosoft?  Or should I send her off to be deflocked?

And I really want a deflocked Best Wishes, but this gal is too nice.  Guess I'll keep looking.

Best Wishes' mane still has factory curl.  Tail is all wild, but not frizzed.  Body perfect.

Hippity has pink hair, so that's an upgrade for me (even though I think my old Hippity looks good w/ white hair).  Her front feet need washing.

Buttons was just in the lot.  I don't need her as I already have several, as well as a UK version.  Don't know what I'll do with her.  She's got lipstick too.

Oh, and there was a random G2 in the lot, Petal Blossom.  I think I will send her along to Good Will.

Congratulations! Ooh you have Twilight? Super jelly! Its funny how you can get so-called baity ponies, only to have them be gorgeous isn't it?

We would love to see some pictures! Congrats on them though! If they are in great shape I would not do anything to them!

Well, since we lost photobucket, I've just been using my deviant art to link photos, and I feel silly putting toy photos there.  Other artists probably think, Hey, what's up with this guy's crappy photography, lol!  But I'll add one tomorrow.

Lots of people do toy photography actually. We do it.  Here's some of mine.

I love So Softs! Too bad they're not what you wanted for deflocking but nice that they are in such good shape.

Deflocked SS ponies are so bright and pretty!  I never had the patience to finish the first one I started though so I have to admire those owned by others, lol :)

Congrats! Your ponies looks really happy together!  :)

I have no idea about the lipstick but maybe it goes off with regular washingpowder?

I’d try scrubbing gently with warm water, a toothbrush, and a drop of dawn dish soap to see if the lipstick will come off.  You might even let her soak in the suds before you scrub.  I’d that doesn’t do it, a magic eraser might get it off.  Good luck!  And congrats, they’re beautiful!   :)

So great when you get something you thought would be in iffy condition, only to find they well exceed your expectations! I think a gentle soak and (very gentle rubbing) locally on that area might help the lipstick issue - she looks too nice to deflock. I find baking soda works well on some So Soft stains. I hope you get get rid of it! At least it's not in a terribly obvious area if you can't :)
