'Piggy' ponies???
« on: December 11, 2015, 08:35:30 AM »
I have seen some of them.. They got small feet and short legs, why? When they were in the box were they called that? Were they not sold in the US? Were they ever featured in the movie/show? Did it ever say why they have such small feet? Were they in a terrible accident which resulted in tiny feet? Did they stand in magical water that shrunk their feet?

I'm not an expert, but here's what I know.

Piggy ponies were only sold in Spain. "Piggy" is a fan-nickname due to their resemblance to pigs; I don't think they have an official set name, I believe they were just sold as My Little Ponies. As they were Spanish exclusives, they didn't make appearances in the TV show or any other media.

MLWiki has more info on them here :)

Yes, Carrehz is right. Piggy ponies are the first Spanish my little ponies ever made. The mild is exclusive from here. They made some that looked like the original collectors and the made some new ponies that don't exist anywhere else.

Okay thanks! Honestly their small feet and short legs bother me.. It looks odd, however seeing that some (all of them?) have opening/closing eyes and they're kinda cute makes me want one.. Just one.. Or two..  :silly:

I used to think this too. I think a lot of people start out thinking this... but they just sneak their way into your heart! I think they're so cute now.

Okay thanks! Honestly their small feet and short legs bother me.. It looks odd, however seeing that some (all of them?) have opening/closing eyes and they're kinda cute makes me want one.. Just one.. Or two..  :silly:

I remember when Sel (Reaperfox) and I found a couple at the Steam Fair - probably back in 1999 or 2000ish - and we left them there, thinking them fakies. Luckily for her, her Dad found them and bought them for her as a joke, also thinking they were fakies. And then, everyone found out they weren't fakies at all xD.

I honestly don't see the appeal...having seen them in real life, I still can't consider any of them 'ponies', even though I know they are.

Yeah. I wonder why they thought small legs were a good idea? I wouldn't mind having one though.

I think like many nirvana ponies they are an acquired taste :) they are quite different in their physical appearance compared to regular ponies and the sleeping eyes do often put people off.

Personally I love my three piggys ^.^
