Okay, I opened an "item not as described" case and messaged her through e-bay.  Here's what I wrote:

Thank you for your response.

Quote
While I understand that the ponies were switched with someone else's order, I am unhappy with the ponies I have ended up with.  As you haven't proposed any solutions, I have opened a "item not as described" case with ebay to cover myself in case we cannot work out a solution.  At this point, I really would like either the ponies or a full refund and I am willing to send the ponies I actually received back to you, provided you pay for the shipping.

I really would like to work this out amicably.  Thank you.

Let's see what happens

ETA:  Super quick response this time.  The seller wrote me back to tell me that they didn't know "what else to offer me." (Really?  I'm still not sure why the seller didn't think of a refund if they couldn't get the ponies.)  And that they'll settle the case tomorrow.  So, fingers crossed this will all work out well - but I don't think I'll be getting those princesses.

Maybe you just need to spell it out for them? "Hello, please contact the other buyer and ask them to send the princess ponies back to you, or to me. That is the resolution I want. I will do the same, and you will pay all shipping costs with tracking numbers"

Sounds very fishy to me. You won that lot for a very good price and then suddenly the two ponies that are worth the money mysteriously go missing? Bet we'll see them re-listed before too long. Make sure you do everything possible to get your money back and put this one down to experience, there's no way you'll be getting those two.

Or am I just being cynical?

Good luck anyway! :)

As soon as I read this thread, this occurred to me too. Sounds like this person discovered there were two valuable ponies in the lot after you won the auction, and decided to try the old 'bait and switch' routine.

I hope you get your full refund easily!

I had that thought, too.  I also thought that if they *were* switched with someone else's lot (looks at finished listings,) then someone paid 99 cents for those two princesses and won't want to give them back. . .

The seller said they'd fix the case today but so far hasn't.  I'll give them a little bit of time (a day or so) and then contact them again.

ETA:  The seller gave me a full refund so I guess everything worked out.  Thanks for all the help!  :)

I'm thinking that there is a chance that those princesses didnt go to another buyer afterall since the seller wasnt going to do anything until you opened the case :(  keep an eye open for them reappearing on ebay. ..
I'm glad to hear  you got your refund though ! :cheer:
