New Payment System at German Ebay

This summer we'll get a new Payment System at german ebay.
All Payments - anyway if Paypal or Banktransfer will sent directly to ebay then. Ebay tell the seller that they received the money from the buyer and that you can ship the item. After the buyer noted at ebay that he received the item - ebay will sent you the money for this transaction.
When you've tracking you can also add the info to ebay and they will look it over - it's also a proof of shipping.
Ebay want a safer way for buyers - and yes for sure it's safer.
But the springing point is - there is absolutely no protection for sellers who sent unregistered (no problem for me - I only ship registered - but I know lots of people who never did..). That also means the shipping costs will grow up soon...
Another point is - it will take between 2-4 weeks until we german sellers get the money from ebay. That is really a long time!
Just a simple example - when I've 50 ponies up for sale - and I sell them to 25 different buyers and all 25 buyers pay me directly by paypal - ebay will sent me a message that all 25 buyers paid and that I can ship the parcels out. That means I have to cover for shipping for all 25 packages without getting any Cent until the parcels arrives...
 
For a lot of sellers could that be a big problem.
 
Well it's only a new rule for german and austria ebay.
But you never now if it come over to ebay.com or ebay uk soon...

Yikes!  I honestly don't see it working.  I mean most people sell on ebay to make ends meet and if they are having to pay out of pocket for shipping, they won't do it!
 
I think they kiss german ebay goodbye because noone in their right mind will put up with that.

Oh my goodness! that sounds crazy!         buyers already have protection from ebay, and sellers already have a tough time on there .. so this will only make things worse - especially as they are holding the funds for so long

Oh ya! Good one ebay.

They know how to lose more sellers and prolly buyers as well.

Another reason on my list to step away from ebay.

Oh yeah...good old ebay...you never know which surprise comes next...!!
 
I normally wait until I've 50-100 ponies before I list them at ebay...but with the new system - no way.. I guess nobody can't pay forward for shipping of an amount of that boxes...
Maybe I will move over to ebay uk or ebay.com then.

Thi already happens to some degree for everyone if your account gets payments put on hold. When mine was on hold it sucked but I learned that if I printed my hopping labels off of eBay or PayPal then the shipping costs were deducted from the money the buyer sent me. I didn't pay any out of pocket.

Hopefully this will be the case too. I know if I was going to always have my money on hold I would not allow shipping without registered mail at all.

That's a long time for sellers to wait for their money!

And indeed, with unregistered shipping the buyer could just claim to never received the item while they actually had!

Glad i never sell or sold on Ebay, this would not work for me AT ALL.

Sounds like they want sellers to think of themselves as actual businesses and have money for shipping already calculated into having an Ebay account.  Hm....
