Aww, she is very cute. This is the version they sell in pet shops. I didn't knew the english name was budgie. In dutch we would say "grass parakeet"
They could be very smart.

Yes, that is a very wonderful budgie! A native of Australia, and quite popular as pet birds due to their colours and small size. I think they have some limited speech capabilities, but don’t quote me on that. I’ve never had one, and my dad is currently busy. He’s from Australia, and kept budgies as a kid. I’m definitely glad you found it, as it most definitely wouldn’t have survived for long in your region. If an animal didn’t get to it, the winter might.
This. Sentence. Is. False! Dontthinkaboutitdontthinkaboutit.

Very cute!  Its a girl, as they have brownish pinkish colours above the beaks and boys have a bluish colour   :)
I had the most beautiful white/blue budgie when I was younger, could never get him to talk though.
Like the others have suggested she is likely an escapee...hopefully you can get her back to her owners.  If not, congratulations on your new pet?!

Oh wow Taffeta, those are lot bigger than ours, but those are very pretty.  I think (but may be wrong) another name for the kind of parakeet we found is a "budgie"?

Here he/she is:

And... my mom is falling in love.  I think if we don't find her owner, she's got a new home.

Looks like the one my mom used to have.

Aww, what a sweetie. :D  We had a budgie when I was a child. His name was Bobby, and he was blue with a yellow face. Budgie was actually one of the first "unusual" English words I learned (by unusual I mean that it's a word that's not really on the surface of the English language for Dutch people), because my dad is an Englishman. :D

What a cute little lady! They're very social birds and indeed super smart. Hopefully her previous owner didn't let her escape on purpose.

If you decide to keep, I'd recommend to consider getting her a friend. And they can actually learn to talk very well, parakeet Disco on YouTube is a great example. Never managed to get my two parakeets to talk through  ^.^
