Oh wow, I got that Rarity was Glory but not Sparkker. That's just me being biased I guess because I never liked Sparkler much but Glory is in my childhood herd.

Considering her age she would have been getting these ponies when she was 9 to 11ish which is quite old for the core target market. I love ponies now and loved them as a little girl but as a toy people stopped buying them for me when I was 6 or 7. The main "gimmick" sets were later in the line by which time I guess she had out grown ponies as toys.per se.

I had no idea she was around the same age as I was when she started collecting - I was also around the 11-12 age when I started MLP.

I asked for ponies all the way through my teenage years - I actually asked for ponies when I graduated high school and that would have been in 1990.

I think I was a collector from the start.

My cousin who is 4 years younger than me also started into ponies at the same time I did, so she would have been around 7-8 back in 1983. We were both more about collecting them, we did play with them but we were not abusive to our ponies. In fact the way I remember it we'd get miffed at friends who got rough with our ponies. So I think we both started out with the mindset of collecting and then play, instead of just play only.
