Build a Bear Fun/Embarrassment :)

Hi everypony!

Just wanted to share my funny but slightly embarrassing Build a Bear experience with you.

I was visiting one of my friends in Cambridge in the UK today, and I saw a little girl carrying around a Build a Bear box! So I got all excited and made my mate ( male/ non pony fan) take me there just on the off chance the ponies were available, as I wasn't sure if they were out in the UK yet!
To my excitement they were!!! Happy hooves!

But I couldn't decide which to get, Dashy or Pinkie, so I decided to get both!

So I got Pinkie and made my friend get Dash.... The only thing was I had never been in Build a Bear before and didn't realise the whole process you had to do to make the plushies!

The lady who was serving us was lovely and really funny, but was intent on making us work for our ponies!

She stuffed them and then before she put the hearts inside them she made us do a load of silly exercises to get their hearts going, including Star Jumps and gallloping on the spot, shouting' I love my little pony' louder and louder! We of course went along with it, slightly embarrassed and much to the amusement of all the other shoppers and to the confusion of several little girls to why two grown men were having ponies stuffed, galloping about in the shop and spending 20 minutes deciding what colour roller skates to buy them!

It has to be said it was a really funny experience, and I was so chuffed with my mate for going along with it all and joining in... He was ace... And I was probably the more embarrassed out of the two of us!

The staff in the shop were awesome, and they were even asking us extra facts about MLP too, to tell other customers about it!

I would really recommend anyone of you to go and get one, as it is such an awesome experience and even better if you have kids... They must find it so exciting bringing a pony to life and making it their very own!

Go Build a Bear!!!Now please make the rest of the ponies too!... Starting with Fluttershy next!

What an awesome experience. I really wish i had been there to see that it sounds like too much fun! I have never been in a build a bear store but would love to now for sure. Thanks for posting and have a great day : )

Oh my! I'm not sure if I'll be brave enough to get one if this is how it works, haha!
But the scene you described does sound very cute and it's fun to imagine what it must have been like

I would be em-BEAR-assed too! I've never heard of an employee making an adult do the dance. Then again I've only been to a store three times, and one of those times I didn't even build an animal. I do most of my BABW shopping online.

That reminds me of my own experience with my Build-a-Bear bunny xD I had to do a lot of funny/silly things, too ! It was quite unnecessary to me, but... yeah xD

He he! I'm sure they wouldn't push anyone to do anything they didn't want to!

I guess she knew we would be up for it when I told her out right the ponies were for me, I guess she thought if I had jumped that hurdle then nothing much else would embarrass me!:)

lol there was a boy in front of me getting a monkey (to be a footballer) and he went through something similar. It was the store manager that was stuffing though and he got me to press the pedal to stuff the ponies, but I didn't have to do any of the jumping around stuff thankfully.

  I needed a good laugh today! The image I came up with was so funny! If I saw this passing a Build A Bear store, I would have run in and galloped with you! LOL

The first time I went to a Build-A-Bear was when I was buying for my godson... I was super embarrassed to have to go through the hole process of making their heart start and such... hehe  Although... it wasn't nearly as bad as having to do what you had to do with MLP!  I'm thinking I'll have to go with online anyway since we don't even have a Build-A-Bear here.

By the way, the BAB Ponies are really good quality too!

They are so cute in real life and so much better than any other Official pony plushies I have ever seen.

I had to do all those silly dances too!!  I was with my youngest daughter, who is 2, and the BAB lady had both of us do all the dances and stuff:).  It was funny and it took all I had to keep from turning beet red. 

As for the ponies....they are amazing!  My older girls are so thrilled with how cute they are!  Totally worth the money and the embarrassment.
