Many years ago I remember I was confused to see the neons on Tunneful who I got from a fleashop but then I saw the Hasbro stamps

The Year 9 Princess ponies. What was Hasbro thinking with those eyelashes?

Oh geez I know. They're horrible.  >_<

Here's mine without the eyelashes and has now alt-hair colors

For me, pretty much all of the Family Dollar exclusive G3s seem like fakies to me.  Honestly, the three bonus ponies that came with the castle they sold on Black Friday in uh... 2007 (?) and the second 4-pack of the TRU G3s (or the one that has Flutter Butter in it) at a glance seem not authentic to me, too.

I'm in the same boat about G4s.  I'm not particularly crazy about them, but still buy them for some reason.  All of the G4Zillas look sort of fake to me, too :)

It was a confusing pony that first got me to look up ponies online: G1 colorswirl Springy.  I'd never seen a bride pose pony before, but I *knew* those were my little pony eyes, and it did say Hasbro on the hooves...

I was very confused when I first laid my eyes on a So Soft pony (Fifi) at my friend's place 12 years ago. There was a box on the floor which had his little sister's stuff in it, and I recognized the hoof shape sticking out of the box immediately (after all ponies were my favourite toys). So Softs were never sold here in Finland so I had no idea they existed, and obviously I couldn't see the stamps. My friend gave the pony to me, and then I realized I could try to check from the internet, although there probably isn't any pony stuff in there....I mean I must be the only adult with a pony collection.. You can probably guess where that lead..

Heh. When the big Brothers first came out, I thought they were fakies because they were so different. It took my best friend getting one to convince me they belonged with the rest of the ponies. (They were in stores before the Sonombula episode aired for me.) :silly:
My creativity keeps running into a lack of time and resources.
I'm also available via twitter at @Kazzellin :)

So many projects!! What do I want to work on? :awake:

My mistakes were thinking my water color sea ponies were fakes cause of the hair XD

Oh and when I found the big sleepy newborns with the bottle/duck as a kid in a second hand store, thought they were fake too. Glad I got them though =D

This is very close to what happened to me!  After I found G3s, I thought they were kid toys and nothing else and picked some up for nostalgia.  Then, I dug my childhood ones out of storage and realized that some needed restoration, so I ventured to the internet, expect to come up with nothing.  Landed myself here, and still haven't left ;)

The first time I saw G2s in stores, I thought they looked like fakes.

And the polybag G4s look extremely cheap because of their packaging.

The entire G4 line looks like cheap dollar-store toys.  :(

Same here. Also even though I've never seen one in person, the Dream Beauties, they look more like Mattel horses or Fashion Star fillies then MLP. Gorgeous though and I'd love to have at least one.

Pina Colada for me. I saw her in a local listing, and the unusual bright (and not too coordinated) colours, paired with knowing there indeed are existing Crumpet pose fakies just didn't let me believe she's real. later I learned she was snatched up by another member here, and I don't really like her colours, so all is well, but back then I was kicking myself a little for not jumping on the listing with the awesome price she was offered for.
