Favorite Halloween related stuffs?

I wish I could say that I was doing something cool for Halloween, but I will be working, second year in a row for that. But the saving grace is that I can wear my costume....Which should be re-made by then.

I have been a dragon, a Bald Eagle, a Snowy Owl, and some other things that I can't remember. Here's the thing, none of my costumes were bought from a store, all of them were made by my mom and I.

I have two or three costumes that still fit, but I happily wore my Captain Rex armor for roughly three or four consecutive Halloween's, including last year when I wore it to work. As a result of so much use, I am replacing it with a brand new suit of armor, based off of one of my Star Wars: The Clone Wars OCs.

Well I definitely cannot say the weather as it's far from  sweater weather by Halloween here. It's already "dress in layers and try not to freeze" weather. And then here you are with your skimpy costume. I didn't go out on the 31st last year because it was soooo cold.

One of my favorite things to do is the trick or treating event for dogs in my area. Since society has deemed me too old to trick or treat (lame) and I don't have children to live vicariously through, I use my dog! Over 30 business participate and he gets a huge bag of goodies and I get some candy and free food as well.

There are some things that I enjoy all year, like horror movies and decorations.

I am not a fan of the scary gory aide of Halloween, but I looove the dressing up part the best! I usually am a witch, but this year I got a really cool Victorian dress pattern I was hoping to be able to make for myself. We'll see if it really happens. I get pretty into helping my kids dress up. So far no one has wanted to cooperate with doing a family theme, my hubby is not so into dressing up.

Sadly, there is no Halloween where we live, but there is a holiday about going to put flowers and wreaths on the gravestones, that always ends up in some cross-family competition and criticizing how the others put ugly flowers, or went budget on the wreath, or something on the way home.

I have a toddler now, So I'm really into taking her out and watching her experience Halloween now. I'm sewing her costume this year and everything (fingers crossed).

I LOVE dressing up...any excuse to put on a costume.  I haven't had the funds to get or put together a new costume for this year, so I'll probably re-use one of my comic-con cosplays.   I'll either be Scully from the X-Files, or Crowley from Supernatural. 

My munchkin is still to small for Halloween candy, but NEXT year I'm SO looking forward to family costumes and trick-or-treating!

I used to love trick or treating when I was kid, and Halloween parties at school. But these days, I like the decorations and that's it for the most part. Halloween just isn't much of my thing anymore. I do like haunted houses though.

We didn't have Halloween in Germany when I was growing up, but I went trick or treating with my brother once or twice (he's 12 years younger than me, and it was slowly becoming "a thing" when he was little). Trick or treating isn't really a huge thing here in the UK, either. I'm not expecting any children to come to my place because the entrance is hard to find (not even delivery persons find it), but I think I might have some extra candy in, just in case.

As for costumes, I'll be Dorothy from "Wizard of Oz" for our office Halloween. It'll be ever so cold because the dress is short-sleeved and only comes down to the knee. I bought thick leggings and a cardigan, so I hope that'll keep me warm.

I love pumpkin carving

I used to love it as a child, but after a while felt too old to do it. When the discovered my partner had never done pumpkin carving I decided it was the perfect excuse to indulge again.
