Title: Home Movies from the 80's (Ponies)
Post by: KarentheUnicorn on April 22, 2021, 01:27:59 PM
Come into the time machine as we travel back to a pony collectors bedroom, mid80's.
Sorry the video is kinda meh, but this was filmed back when I was a kid/teen.
So please excuse the low quality and bad camera girl ;) I just recently got these digitized copies of old family movies back and am doing some rough edits.

I'm guessing this is somewhere around 95ish but I don't have an exact date as they're dated other than I know looking at what it's between in family videos, I know it's not later than 1987 as my granny died that year, so this is probably 85-87.

That's awesome! I love all the 80's stuff in there, especially the My Child doll on the bed...I had one of those (well, still have!). Wish I had a video like this of my 80's room, but I can't picture my dad letting me use his 'new technology' to film something that he deemed as trivial as my toys at the time (which was probably smart of him if he valued it; I did break his cutting edge, state-of-the-art CD player in the early 90's!) Thanks for sharing, this was fun to watch.

Apart from the Ponies, my favourite things in the room were the unicorns, pegasi & related posters. Loved seeing all this xxx

I wasn't even alive yet, but the bedroom and video footage really invoked nostalgia for me somehow. It's awesome to see My Little Ponies organized like a real collection before it was cool! Thanks for preserving and sharing such a neat glimpse into the past.

I LOVE looking into this little time portal you’ve opened up! Also your room would make Tina Belcher jealous. (Apologies if you aren’t a Bob’s Burger fan, she’s a sweet character who loves horses and I’m sure every member of this forum could say the same!)

Younger you took such good care of all your ponies! If you still have them, wow, so many of those are the condition that collectors love finding these days. All those perfect wings on the flutter ponies! Love it! The bit with Sundance standing next to Swiftwing is definitely making me wonder if Lauren Faust had some She-ra toys that inspired Princess Celestia. They look like they’re having an important conversation. It’s just such a cute video! Thank you for sharing!

This is so adorable to watch! Reminds me of my own little videos I would make when I was younger

Thank you for sharing.  :)  I also wish I had home movies of my childhood toys but most of of ours were shot in the living room and I never thought about asking to video my toys when I was growing up.
