Custom Help!
« on: March 28, 2013, 02:15:53 PM »
Ok I just started a custom blind bag.....I was making a g1 pony.....into a blind bag boy. Well this g1 pony has a horn!!!!

I have never sculpted before....is there another option. I did paint the first layer of this pony.

Any thoughts or ideas would help me out.

Thanks:)

For larger customs people have used icicle decorations for horns, but you might have trouble finding a BB-sized one.  You could see if someone could make you a horn to go on it, or you could keep an eye out for a unicorn BB and use the one you have for a different custom.

I had to wander around my house for ideas, but I think I've got it! Your solution is...

...plastic knitting needles! Maybe. ;) Get an appropriately very-small-gauge plastic needle at the craft store (bring your BB along with you to size-check), then using clippers, cut the tip off off to-length. File the bottom of the tip down flat with sandpaper, then carefully glue it in place with a tiny dab of superglue. Beforehand, if you really want it to have spiral-y grooves, you can try filing them in with a rigid nail file? That should be good enough, if you totally don't want to try sculpting!

Oooh! I might be sculpting a blind bag pony horn too, so I will definitely stay tuned.

What about harvesting one off of another blind bag who has a horn?  Either the Twilight Sparkle mold or the Princess mold...
Thanks to Calico Star for my siggy! <3 (deleted cause photobucket)
