These are pretty cute, but I definitely like some more than others. Oof, blind bags can be such a hassle. :/

Here are some quick pics of my older Pops—I don’t have my newer, Retro Toys ones set up yet. There are a few other odds and ends scattered around my room—Shape of Water’s Elisa and Amphibian Man, Deadpool, etc., but that’s my main display. Some ponies tried crowding out the bottom rows, haha:

I was freakishly excited when they released Steven Universe and Gargoyles. :D Pretty sure I preordered most of them...

Have and love her. :lovey: I love the bright, cheerful colors combined with the glittery symbol. Plus, she’s one of the precious few unicorns to come out of G3.

I feel like that blue Sprinkles prototype must exist in a Hasbro warehouse somewhere. Imagine if it actually turned up for sale someday.... :inlove:

I think this thread should be renamed. It started as a thread about who isn't a fan and has evolved into just general Funko discussion.

Seconded. Obviously discussion about if/why you’re done with Pops should still be welcome. ;) It should be up to Zapper, of course—maybe she’d rather we made two separate threads?

So, I’ve kind of gone in the opposite direction. Funko started making a “Retro Toys” line of Pops, and they caught me hook, line, and sinker. I have all the classic MLP ones that were just released, plus two Popples, the Candy Land gang (except for that elusive Plumpy... grrrr!), Peaches n Cream Barbie, My Pet Monster, and a handful of others. They really match with the cutesy aesthetic of Pops in general.

I really love that the unified style makes creating bizarre dioramas so easy. You can have Dwight from The Office hanging out with Polly Pocket, The Fantastic Four, a bunch of anime characters, and a couple of guys from “KISS”... and it all looks like it belongs together. XD

I’d also love to see another set! I still feel bad for poor Blossom getting bumped out of the first wave. >_<; Earth!Firefly was so random. She has “fly” in her name! XD

I’m also a bit afraid that this line might be coming to a close. :/ 2020 was tough on a lot of companies, and BF MLPs had troubled distribution to begin with. :( I’m going to quietly hope that the upcoming G5 reboot will renew interest in the franchise as a whole, and maybe give the BFs a boost.

Does anyone know the status of their licensing deal with Hasbro? That was a big topic of discussion here a while back, but I haven’t heard it brought up in a while.

The Bishoujo Luna statue from Kotobukiya is now available for preorder: https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/155528

She’s so pretty! She comes out just in time for Halloween, too. :) This is the first entry in Kotobukiya’s MLP series that I’ve purchased. I’m planning to get Celestia as well. I love how fantasy-inspired they are compared to the EQG characters.

I... am so lost right now. I feel like I must have fallen asleep for twenty years or something... What are NFTs?

It takes the electrical output equivalent a small home generates in a year to make ONE nft. This is not environmentally friendly and you literally don't get anything for it but saying you bought a  digital item

How is that even possible?

There's going to be a 2nd wave of the Extra dolls.

Ponyfan

Ooh, I can’t wait for more info! I was able to turn up a few blurry product photos and a bit of info... It seems the next wave will be on true MTM bodies! I’m unsure why they didn’t just go that route with the first wave, but it’s definitely good news!

Here’s the article I turned up. The hairstyles and dolls are gorgeous, but the fashions are a bit more of a mixed bag, IMO.

A lot of people seem to dislike the random, unicorn-ized creatures, but I’ve always liked them. X3 I have a handful of Beanie Boos, Poopsie creatures, etc. with similar designs.

I agree that it’s frustrating knowing these guys will likely never receive merch. :( That bat is adorbs.

I wonder if I’m the only one who thinks G2s had the best playsets and accessories?

We're on a mind melt again because I thought just that when I saw this photo. The best in all of pony history might have been the G2 onesies.

I challenge anyone to find cuter Ponywear than Puff’s dragon onesie. X3

In general, all of the G2 sets were so vibrant and cheerful-looking. Definitely some of the most underappreciated items in MLP history.

I have all five in hand now, and I’m really pleased overall! This is the nicest mainline Barbie release I’ve seen in a long while. #2’s pastel theme is probably my favorite, especially since I’m a fan of the curvy molds. #4 screams 90s pop star, which I love. XD

Agreeing that the pets are quite odd... with the exception of #4’s pig-cosplaying-an-alicorn, which I think coordinates well with her outfit. X3

I haven’t tried budging any of their earrings yet... It’s a shame to hear they’re so hard to remove now... As a kid, I used to swap my Barbies’ earrings all the time, and they popped on and off easily. I’m guessing Mattel started worrying that they were a choking hazard (as though the tiny rings, shoes, and barrettes are any better)?

I actually just finished unboxing Ruby. :D

I have the original six, and Krystal on the way. I like the line overall, but I don’t think I’ll be buying any more now that I have the seven rainbow colors. Having to shampoo the goop out of their hair after each unboxing gets old fast (I had to wash Sunny’s hair several times to get rid of the stickiness and lingering “hairspray smell”). Today I had to repair a split in Ruby’s scalp at the hairline, and plug several tufts back in with my rerooting tools and glue... They’re beautiful dolls, but tragically have quality control issues.

On the positive side, their clothes are pretty awesome. :) Very detailed with contrasting fabrics and accents. I also love the shimmery face-ups and blushing—it really sets them apart from anything else in the playline doll market. Sunny’s hair color and style seem to be a nod to Sailor Moon, which  wins major points with me as well. :D
